Oh yes! If you are into Vegan/Vegetarian food this is the place to go, or at least one of the places to go in Florence. Food is really good, we tried several types of Seitan over several occasions and other dishes and we were always happy with the meal, prices are reasonable and service very nice. Totally reccomended!

We kind of just happened upon this place as we were heading back to our airbnb apartment just down the street. We had a long day trouncing around the streets of Florence and were surprised to see this vegetarian/vegan place still open late as many businesses close much earlier than those in the U.S. We stepped inside and asked when they closed and the lady replied, «We stop serving when people stop showing up. If people come, we are more than happy to serve». I thought that was very nice and since the weather was gorgeous we sat outside in the outside seating. We ordered a nice white wine and a fried zucchini appetizer. They also brought out bread to munch on while our entrees were cooking. I think it is wonder to have a full vegetarian restaurant among the streets of Florence. I also like that they have their full menu online so you can search what you want to eat if you’re mobile. I ordered spaghetti with seitan carbonara. My sister ordered rigatoni with vodka tomato sauce. The fried zucchini was a reasonable appetizer and wasn’t too filing. I will say that I didn’t really like the consistency but that’s because I’m not fond of zucchini or squash. I had never had seitan before and it was an oddly appealing experience. I guess if you’re travelling in Europe you might as well try something new. The cheese wasn’t overpowering or too rich and the pasta was very light on the stomach. My sister was in love with her dish and ate almost every bite. Luckily she left room for dessert as we ordered tiramisu. The tiramisu was also very delicious and was homemade so that made it even better. The whole meal cost around $ 40 Euros which is very reasonable considering we had appetizers, two entrees, a half liter of wine, and dessert.

Yummy! We had the squash blossom appetizer(so good), pasta(clearly handmade, just the right amount of chewy), and seitan steak(a vegetarian’s dream with amazing balsamic reduction). Good prices, good service, I would eat there again if I was staying in Florence longer. Quiet atmosphere, with good wine selection.

We can’t say enough positive things about this restaurant. It was so refreshing as vegans to find a place that offered something besides pasta, pizza and salad. We had the tofu pumpkin appetizer and the curry seitan. It was the best seitan we have ever had. The service was amazing and if we could eat here every night during our stay in Italy we would. Great patio for outside dining as well!

I read good reviews before coming to Florence and as a vegan was hoping to locate a really awesome dish. I ended up with the Seitan Stew with Seitan, leaks, mushrooms, green beans and coconut milk. It was delicious and I was pleased to see a few other vegan choices on the menu. The bill was also very reasonable. Outdoor seating is pretty nice as well. Definitely worth checking out.

You can see by my check-ins that I’m a big fan of Sedano Allegro. When I searched for veg restaurants in the vicinity of the apartment where I would be staying for 2 weeks and this popped up, I felt extremely fortunate. And when I saw that they have an impressive 2-course lunch with water and coffee for 12 Euro, I made immediate plans to get here on day one. If you’re a vegetarian, Sedano Allegro is the restaurant for you. I’m vegan and there are several options on the limited lunch menu(more at dinner, but you’re extremely limited at lunch if you want both courses. A salad draped with mozzarella becomes a lot less exciting with the cheese off and no replacement). By the second or third time I had lunch here, I decided to forgo the lunch special and get one course and a double soy cappuccino(«lunch» really is my breakfast). It seems menu options vary on the regular(lunch changes daily). We stopped by a couple nights for dinner when there was a seitan curry on the menu. At first I was hesitant to order that, I mean, curry in a restaurant with mainly Tuscan specialties? But ignore your misgivings because this is one of the best curries I’ve ever had. The seitan is the perfect texture in this entrée, practically succulent. On the opposite end of the spectrum would be the seitan scaloppine. You’d do best to avoid it, as the flavors just didn’t work. I was hoping the scallopine would be more of the wine sauce variety, but it’s tomato. The seitan that day was rubbery and combined with the tomato sauce it’s a bit of a sorry mess of flavors. This was really the only miss of my numerous visits. The ladies who take care of you here are the nicest. I believe one more«mature» lady to be the owner/manager and one of the gals who’s there regularly is so sweet and helpful when it came to making decisions, pointing out what was vegan and what could be made vegan. I also liked the modern/casual atmosphere that’s equally inviting at night as it is during the day, where on nice days, the doors are open to the sidewalk café. There’s also a counter service area if you’re looking for pastry and coffee in the am. I think you’ll be out of luck if you’re looking for vegan pastry, but sometimes a girl does get up early and just wants a non dairy cappuccino to start the day…

Solid four stars. Tomato risotto was good, not great. The caramelized onion omelette and eggplant zucchini dish were both lovely. The house red wine was enjoyable but nothing amazing. All in all very happy to find a good Italian vegetarian place nearby. We will probably be back.

Great vegetarian restaurant, as reviewed by a serious carnivore. The risotto was excellent, as was the mixed salad. Very cosy interior, as it’s a smaller place outside of the major tourist zones. The staff speaks English well and are very friendly, so if you’re staying across the street at Hotel Arizona I’d definitely stop in for a nice quiet meal.
