Not many alcohol options but had good steak. The penne al Bolognese was ok. It wasn’t the best but wasn’t’ the worst. It is recommended for casual dinner in florence

We arrived in Florence the day after Christmas, which is also a holiday here. So many of the places we were hoping to eat were closed when we arrived. Luckily we stumbled upon Da Guidos and saw that they had fair prices for the food we were hoping to eat. We both ordered one of the set menus(florentine steak for my husband and the Toscano two course menu for me). We also got dessert(a pastry with cream and pine nuts and almonds) and a decaf espresso at the end. The ribolita soup was very good and exactly how I remembered it from the last time I was in Florence. The meat dishes were also decent. Overall, the service was very good and we felt like we got a good deal(less than € 50 for a ton of food and a glass of wine and water). Ps– bread in Florence is made without salt… so yes, it tastes bland, but that will be how all traditional restaurants serve it.

Really good food at great price. Gnocchi pesto was light and flavorful. Fried artichoke excellent and tagliatelle rage was excellent. 15 euro meal is more food than you need. Very good quality and very good value. way more food than you expect

Horrible service(I finally got up and got my own food that had been sitting in the service window) bread was tasteless and entrée was 2 stars at best… I mean… How can u screw up bread in Italy???

In the US I’d give it 3.5 stars but it’s average by Florence standards Ambience: Pretty much your standard trattoria. Service: I went for lunch when it was pretty empty and still had rather stand-offish service. They didn’t make any effort to please, even though I was ordering in Italian. Food: Slightly above average by US standards but moderate to below average by Florence standards. Nothing out of the ordinary for choices. It really seems ot be catering to the gobble-and-go tourist. Price: Good. Not likely to go back — there are simply too many other places that were way better.

Really enjoyed this. The service was excellent as we dined over 2 hours. We shared a side of white beans so simply prepared but so delicious. I have tried to duplicate this since returning home and can’t quite get it. The buttery texture and rich flavor of olive oil stand out for us as a top dish. Never underestimate beans! My rabbit ragu with homemade pappardelle was phenomenal. This flavor profile is one that stays with me… a hint of clove to bring out the rich rabbit meat. Their gnocci texture was lovely and the pesto very nice. We shared a second course of veal in lemon sauce. Perfectly delicate, perfectly cooked. The dish was light, only accompanied by a salad of greens. This was a fantastic way to round out our meal. As we lingered, the darling server brought us limoncello on the house. This was our first dinner in Firenze and it was certainly one of the most memorable of our trip!
