Excellent food and atmosphere. Walls covered with modern art, tables in white cloth. Simple and fresh food with good quality ingredients. Servers friendly funny and understood english and menu was available in English. Had the grilled pork and spinach. Both were amazing! Boyfriend had a huge T-bone steak and he was full despite it being the minimum 600gm size. Most surprisingly good was the fried potatoes(French fry style). House chianti was very good, refreshing. Chocolate cake was very moist and not too sweet. Great location next to our hotel Varsai.

My husband and I loved it! We had truffle pasta, tagliatelle with wild boar, pasta with rabbit raigut, lasagne and tiramisu. All very very good and the service is wonderful. Friendly staff and lovely environment! 5 stars!

Not bad but as my expectations was too much high so bit disappointed. We ordered the simple cooked menu so it might have been different if we had orderd pasta, risotto or trippa menu.

Trattoria I due G is a great place for Tuscan food away from the tourists swarming the city during the summer. Found this place on Unilocal that was just a stone’s throw away from the train station and a short 15 – 20 minute walk from the Duomo area. There’s not much else on the street, but seek the glowing green sign that will direct you towards delicious Tuscan food. We arrived fairly early(around 7), and were seated with no problem — however, it quickly got full and it seemed like most people made reservations. My husband and I both ordered a primi and split the secondi. The zuppa di farro(barley soup) was a winner, comforting and delicious. The penne with rabbit was cooked well, although we were hoping for something a little more unique tasting(as rabbit is not a staple of our usual diets). The grilled pork was juicy and tender, and my sensitive tastebuds were glad it was not overly salted. The garlicky spinaci saltati was the perfect complement. House red wine was cheap and tasty. The entire meal cost us about 35 euro. They have menus in both English and Italian and staff was pleasant(my mediocre Italian was met with a «Brava» instead of some eye rolling). Overall a very enjoyable meal.

Three of us had dinner there and all were very satisfied. Beginning with the crostini with chicken liver pâté’ and the baked vegetable pie-off to a great start! Continued on with the spinach risotto, pasta with ewe cheese and bacon, and char-grilled beef slices on rocket salad: all delicious! Highly recommended.

Came to I Due G after visiting the Duomo museum where many of the sculptures that were removed from the church are now placed. For dinner we went to Due G. We were the 2nd group in the restaurant. — Crostini Antipasto«I due G» — Taglierini with porcini mushroom /Taglierini ai funghi porcini — Pappardelle with wild boar sauce /Pappardelle al cinghiale — Beef steak Florentine /Bistecca alla Fiorentina — Sauteed spinach with garlic /Spinaci saltati The crostini was excellent. I thought that both pastas’ were good. The porcini used were dried so they have a good flavor mixed with the fresh pasta. The wild boar sauce went well with the taglierini ribbon noodles. For the Bistecca we ordered a 1kg portion that we shared along with the spinach. Once again, the good was so amazing and we were so full that we decided to skip dessert.

Woaw, this place is as authentic & local as it gets. We went here for lunch & dinner and were surronded by italian businessmen and families on both occassions. The trufflepasta was generously covered with truffel and if I was working here I wouldn’t allow the guests to leave without trying the Caprese sallad(buffalomozzarella, ripe tomatoes & basil). Great place for a meal in a classical no-nonsense italian restaurant far away from the hordes of tourists. Another great thing is the restaurants proximity to the railwaystation.
