Horrible Horrible Horrible place. There service was awful. The food reminded me of a sad cafeteria. We had multiple problems with our order, and the waiter actually yelled at us. This is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to.

Food was fantastic! Atmosphere was so nice. Highly recommend the lobster pasta — it’s out of this world! The pasta is made fresh and is so incredibly delicious.

Located right in the middle of all the shops but the dining area is in the back so it’s a quiet, calm setting. It’s a combination of an art museum and a restaurant. Service was great and the food was pretty good. We got the sampler of pastas which was okay(the ravioli and clams and spaghetti with zucchini and shrimps were the best of the bunch) and we also got a lasagna which was amazing. Portion sizes were on the small side. the chocolate soufflé was amazing which we had with a cappuccino. Wine was also delicious. A little pricey but it’s a well rated place so wasn’t too surprised by the prices. No view of the ocean from the dining area though.

We dined here twice during our stay in Positano… the first time was excellent. The lemon cake is out of this world delicious. The second time was good but my lobster was over cooked which was a bummer. The service is impeccable though!

I found the food, wine and staff to be outstanding. Highly recommended and you cannot go wrong choosing this place period!

Stopped by for a bathroom break. But after seeing how beautiful the restaurant was, we stayed for lunch and what a treat. Local white wine by the glass, stuffed zucchini blossoms and spaghetti pomodoro. All were delicious. Excellent service. A physically beautiful restaurant. A little pricey, but worth it.

We stopped in for lunch today on the advice of a friend who lives here in Positano. The restaurant was lovely, but there were only a few other patrons. Perhaps the prices keep people away, but this is an outstanding restaurant and you get value for money here. The setting is lovely; excellent service; delicious food; more traditional than gastronomic(always fine by me). Extensive list of wines and champagnes, reasonably priced(especially the higher-end bottles). We will return!

My wife and I vacationed in Positano in July and I had read some reviews of Ristorante Max — specifically on blogs. There don’t seem to be any Trip Advisor or Unilocal reviews and Google Maps calls the place Max S.a.s. From the website it is an art gallery, restaurant and cooking class venue and a bar. The lowdown: this place has outstanding service, a beautiful interior and backyard area and wonderful food. The service was truly outstanding — extremely attentive and polite. Our water was filled constantly and there was always someone close by for questions — they also were warm and great with recommendations. The food was brilliant and the catch of the day with sea bass was one of he freshest fishes I have eaten. If you are in Positano give this place a try — you won’t be disappointed. The only thing I missed was getting the lemon cake which was recommended on a blog but then not available.

Starter: Eggplant parmiggiano. Main: Green Tagliarini with tomatoes and ricotta. Desert: Lemon Cake and Espresso. — — — — — — — — — — – This is like that place you think of when dreaming of a great dinner. Can it get better than this? Simple and honest food, heavenly and all served with a warm and welcoming smile.

Awesome spot. Pasta with lobster and stuffed calamari far exceeded expectations and the service was great. Place is a little tucked away and doesn’t offer the views that are available at many of the positano restaurants but the food is amazing!

This was our first meal in Positano. What a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. The outside patio is magical. It feels like your in a fantasy. The inside is just as incredible and lavish. It’s the kind of restaurant that genuinely cares about atmosphere as much as it does the food. We were situated at a table adjacent to a large wine rack and about 10 feet from the open patio area. The setting could not have been better… The assorted bread basket was delightful… it’s basically a large basket filled with every kind of savory carb you can think of – foccacia, breadsticks, knots, rolls, etc. The grilled calamari appetizer was literally 5 delicious bites of food but it was just to skimpy for 13 euros. My wife’s scampi with prawns pasta was very good. The pasta was truly homemade but the prawns were nonexistent — just shells. I had a seafood pasta dish which was OK but for some reason just didn’t wow me at all. The pasta was fresh with a nice, chewy texture but the flavor profile seemed a bit mismatched. The portion wasn’t entirely filling either. All in all this is a beautiful restaurant but it is expensive, the portions are small, and there are better options in the area.

I had home made pasta with scampi here and it is the best pasta in Italy I’ve had.

Worst place in all of Positano. Service was horrible. We made a reservation in person for the following day for 8pm and when we got there the place was pretty empty. 3 couples were dining in the entire restaurant, 1 inside and 2 outside so there was plenty of space. We asked them that we would like to sit inside not outside. They told us that we were not allowed to sit anywhere inside except sitting next to another couple. I told them the tables are very close together, it would feel like I’m literally sitting on the other’s woman’s lap. They still said you can’t sit inside and have to sit outside. We sat outside and ordered the food but the food was absolutely terrible. I had the gnocchi which tasted so bland and my husband had a tasteless dish as well. It looked like they slapped something together and put it in a plate. Our friends who were on their honeymoon dined here as well and they also said it was the worst place they ate at in Positano. Needless to say, it is an expensive place and it is not worth the money. Definitely take your money and go somewhere else.

Most amazing food and presentation. Pasta’s were excellent, desserts fabulous, and the zuchini flowers appetizer with salami and the eggplant parmesan were excellent. Great wine selection.
