Colosseum Bar

THIS ESTABLISHMENT STEALS FROM CUSTOMERS.
Colosseum Bar has delicious pastries, but you know how you have to watch out for criminals and thieves all around Rome? This business has them working behind the counter handling your money. It’s one man, and one woman working here during the day.
Our friend bought us all pastries from Colosseum Bar yesterday morning, and so my wife returned to buy pastries this morning. Upon coming back upstairs (we’re staying in the same building), my wife realized the woman gave her back € 3 instead of € 12. She went back downstairs, and the woman insisted that my wife was an idiot and a liar.
Upon telling our friend about it, they tried something similar on him yesterday (the man working there tried to overcharge him by about € 3, but he caught them doing it and didn’t get scammed).
Needless to say, we won’t be going back here and highly advise any tourists to stay away from it. Places like this don’t deserve to stay in business, and I hope the € 9 was worth having this review follow them around for however long they stay in business. They’re just as bad as the pickpockets on the street.

We were on a tour that took us past the Colosseum and we were dumped off to find our own food. Since we were starving and it’s not like we knew anything about the area so we just picked the first place we saw.
Fetichini with mushrooms and tomatoes. It was basically pasta tossed in an oil sauce with mushrooms and tomatoes. I’ll say the only good part of the meal was the mushrooms… but there was not enough of them.
Rigatoni Carbonara. The meat was overcooked (or just a terrible quality) that made it almost too hard to chew. At least one of the eggs they had to create the sauce didn’t mix into the meal… just an quivering snotty egg at the bottom of the plate.
We were sitting with another person from our tour and I’m pretty sure they forgot her order. The wife and I were almost done our meals by the time she received her pizza.

Coffee and pastries are fine in the morning but beware of VERY rude rude woman who works there in the mornings! She’ll practically throw your food and change at you! I think the only reason this place has any business is because of the constant supply of fresh tourists and because it’s the only place in the immediate vicinity that is open in the mornings.

Disgustingly dirty!
Sandwiches were expensive and tasteless.
You’d be safer to pee in your own pants before going in the bathroom. I posted a picture that will most likely be taken down, but it shouldn’t. People need to know what’s going on.
