It is small pizza restaurant in the central Rome. I recommend the house wine, it was delicious and it goes nicely with the their real napolitano pizzas. I tried 4 cheese and my friends order the parmesan and bresaola pizza. Both taste pretty good. The prices were resonable, you will pay 15 – 20 euro for good meal and fine wine. On the other side their service is simply not good

Didn’t even stick around to eat. The woman on the door was on the phone the whole time. The waiter only talked down to us; not sure if he didn’t realize we understood his Italian or not but the comments of «you need to memorize the menu?», «really only one pizza?», «you’ve learned the menu now?» and not even taking our drink order with our pizza order was enough to convince us to walk out. We were expected to order within 1 minute (literally) of receiving the menu. Worst customer service experience in all of Europe (and I have lived here for 5 years).

Je vous dis les meilleures pizzas de Rome! Des pizzas ultra fines mais avec une saveur franchement bluffante. On dirait qu’il n’y a rien sur la pizza et pourtant… surprenantes et non bourratives.
Il a fallu tout de même attendre ¾ h dehors pour avoir une table mais c’est le prix à payer pour une bonne pizza. Il y a de toutes les nationalités et c’est une vrai machine à pizza. Le seul petit bémol c’est qu’il y a tellement de monde que parfois on se retrouve à partager le bout d’une table de deux avec un autre couple et la table d’à côté. Et le service est juste ce qu’il faut je dirai.
Conseil: arrivez avant 20h après c’est pire! Les cartes sont traduites en 4 langues.

One of the best pizzas in all of Rome! Baffetto’s is hidden away in the heart of Rome, just off of Piazza Navona. Each and every pizza is great, but the «Baffetto» holds a special place in my heart. The place is usually packed, so know that you might have to wait a little while for a table. Try it out if you are ever in the area!

Went early so didn’t have to wait too long. Service sucks but delicious pizza.

I love this place more than old people love chicken. I have sent many friends there and it’s always a high point of our visit to Rome.

Was told this place was one of the best pizza places in Rome. Had to make a visit to be sure since I’ve already had 2 failed pizza experiences… Da Baffetto definitely did not disappoint. Must visit if you are ever in Rome.

Very mediocre pizza. It certainly wasn’t even close to many of the best places we’ve tried in Rome, Florence, and the rest of Italy.
The price is decent at € 6 for the cheapest pizza, and it’s not bad by American standards but for Italy this was probably at the very bottom of my pizza list. Not sure I would specifically recommend this to anyone.
Also.around dinner time (especially on Saturdays) the line gets VERY long. We were in the area for the gelato place next-​door and couldn’t believe so many people were lining up for what I considered mediocre pizza. The staff was very unfriendly when I went before, I can’t even imagine what they would be like when they’re this packed!

This was far from the best pizza in Rome. It was a complete joke. They make you sit with other guests at shared tables. They rudely threw down the menu. We ignored their rude attitude hoping that the pizza we ordered was good, but it was bland and flavorless. No basil or fresh mozzarella on our mozzarella pizza. It was so blah I could have left my pizza on the table and walked out. I should also note that this place is pretty run down and old. Not the cleanest looking place on top of everything else. When we asked for our check the waiter didn’t give us a written bill, he just threw out a number … We held out a credit card and he laughed and said «no only cash…». We quickly paid and will never return again. For those looking for a great pizza try elsewhere and good luck!

My family and I went two times to this restaurant for Pizza. It operates without reservation. The line is long but it move people quick. Pizzas are simple, thin and crust, and delicious. So if you want to have s good pizza and quick pizza in Rome, go to this place.

Casual thin crust pizza whir tasty, fresh toppings. Dinner time brings a long line while the lunch line is much quicker.

We had lunch here today, what a find! We shared a medium pizza Baffeto which was absolutely delicious. I had never had a pizza with an egg on it but it was great. So many tastes with fresh tomatoes, onion, pepper, sausage, mushroom and artichoke, YUM! Many were having a medium pie as a single serving but we found the medium to be just perfect. It was 10 euro which was pretty inexpensive in the scheme of things! Don’t miss this hidden gem while in Rome.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced in Roma. Waiter was an older overweight guy, maybe about 50. Didn’t appear very happy that we were there. We ordered some frizzante acqua, he brought the bottle but no glasses. After 5 minutes, I was forced to get up and retrieve 2 glasses out of the kitchen area so we could drink our water. Our pizzas arrived after everyone else was served even though we ordered before everyone else in our immediate area. My daughter never received the beverage she ordered. The best part was that this idiot waiter demanded we leave a tip when he finally brought the check. Pizza was all right, not great. We finally left very unhappy. Unbelievable.

We were one of the first tables to arrive and were greeted with a few grunts and what seemed to be a very upset server. A couple menus were thrown on the table and when we were ready to order the server couldn’t even look us in the eye. I’m not quite sure what we did to offend him, but he certainly didn’t seem happy to be there. Our food came pretty quickly and I was pretty good, but we couldn’t help but feel unwelcome. The real nail in the coffin was when the server threw our change on the table as if we were peasants begging for loose change.
I normally don’t write reviews if I don’t have anything nice to say since my family owns a restaurant and I know how there can be good and bad days, but I can’t help but share this tip if people are looking for a good overall dining experience.

Place was slammed with customers and seating is very tight. Waiters are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, but working hard. Pizza is tasty, but like potato chip thin. I like my pizza to be thicker, and actually fill me up after I eat a whole pizza to myself.

Si me habían contado de las pizzas italiana finitas lo comprobé en este lugar. La genialidad de la rapidez con que se mueven y la atención está por encima de lo esperado considerando esta velocidad. Las pizzas: la masa es muy finita y crocante, la salsa es excelente, la cantidad justa de queso y la combinación de todo esto no solo es una delicia, sino también reconocer que la pizza argentina es otro tipo de comida. Sigue la premisa de Roma en general: buena comida por pocos euritos.

Stopped by here to grab a couple beers and was immediately turned off by the poor customer service. No welcome greeting and definitely no smiles here. We finished our drinks quickly and left, didn’t even bother trying their pizza. Won’t come here again. PASS
PS. Their toilet has no toilet seat — just the toilet bowl. Repulsive!

Nous sommes allés chez Baffetto après une journée sous la chaleur Romaine et une visite du Vatican.
Cette pizzeria typique nous avait chaudement été recommandée mais nous en sortons globalement déçu :
— Les pizzas sont vraiment bonnes et pour des tarifs corrects (10 € pour une 4 fromages 12 € pour la spéciale en taille normale)
— Le service est tout bonnement irrespectueux ! Entre désinvolture et irrespect du client né vous attendez pas à des amabilités de la part des hommes en rouge.
En résumé, la pizza est bonne mais il me semble qu’on peut trouver aussi bien dans Rome et surtout pour un meilleur service.
Je né recommande donc pas à tout prix et surtout pas si vous devez attendre …

A éviter si vous aimez les pizzas sans goût, la sauce tomate n’avait pas de goût (sûrement mélangée avec de l’eau) les légumes pas cuisinés.

Cette pizzeria est souvent décrite comme la meilleure de Rome. C’était d’ailleurs le cas pour beaucoup de mes collègues, du coup j’y ai mangé plusieurs fois. C’est une petite institution ici à Rome, du coup il vous faudra essayer au moins une fois.
Par contre, il faudra prendre votre mal en patience car il y a très souvent la queue. Le service est rapide, on est un peu serré, mais c’est le lot de tous les lieux qui ont la côte.
Pour ce qui concerne les pizzas, elles sont bonnes. De là à dire que c’est les meilleurs de Rome, je né sais pas. En fait, je préfère les pizza bianca et eux sont bien meilleur dans les pizza rossa. Ici le prix est correct par rapport à la France, mais il y a moins cher à Rome.
Attention, il existe plusieurs Da Baffetto, celui-​ci est l’originel. Vous trouverez un seconde restaurant dans vers Campo De Fiori.

Having lived in many large cities around the world, I have had my share of pizzas. New York pizzas, Chicago pizzas, North American’s rendition of «Italian pizza», brick oven pizzas of all sorts, gourmet pizzas from celebrated chefs, pizzas in Asia (eww)…
You could be put off by the simple, look of the Da Baffetto and the crowds that appear 20 person-​deep on any given night. Even when the pizza arrives at your table, you may remain unimpressed. BUT, the beauty of the pizzas at Da Baffetto is in the simplicity of the ingredients that really bring the delicious crust to life.
I went with «Da Baffetto» namesake pizza and thought it was delicious. Sure, maybe its in many «guide books», but it is is in many guidebooks for a delicious reason!
Tips:
Open until quite late. Da Baffetto can accommodate large groups and will direct you to a back corridor (leading to perhaps a second venue). Follow the man with the loud voice and presumably your huge party will be fed!
Locals get their take-​out here. And perhaps, if you don’t want to wait for a table, it’s the way to try this restaurant’s pizza. Don’t you think eating delicious pizza at one of Italy’s many beautiful PIazzas would be divine?!?
The house wine is very inexpensive.

Would be a plus during ur stay in Roma, if there’s no line. I went there by myself on a Sunday night around 6:40 and no waiting in lines. If you come here with a party of three or less, be prepared to have strangers sitting in the same table.
It’s traditional style of a roman pizza, but I can’t tell huge difference from our local bleeker street pizza in NYC, except for more flavors. I ordered the baffetto pizza (supposed to be the signature one?), it’s good. Fresh and classic.
The ham on mozzarella: although I’m here alone, I don’t wanna miss this dish that recommended by a friend. So I would say, it’s totally enough to have two people share this dish and a medium size pizza. The ham is soooo good (and also the portion) as you can expected here in Rome, and also the mozzarella. But may be a little too heavy and oily at the end, though heavenly delicious with the first bite. I even asked for packing them home. And it still tastes good on the next morning.
However it may cost more time for a pizza. When I finished most of my mozzarella and ham, my table-​mate was still starving and waiting for their first pizza.

Well, I have had MUCH better pizza… I don’t understand what’s the thing with that place. Found it on a guide book and given the line outside the store, it was probably in a bunch of other guide books haha.
Had a calzone and a pizza. It was okay, nothing great, staff was super rude. oh well.
Save your time and money, it’s easy to make and eat better «traditional» pizza anywhere else.

La pizza perfecta si andas por el centro histórico. Deliciosa y barata en un ambiente bullicioso y auténticamente italiano. En la puerta se monta fila por algo y merece la pena esperar. Pizzas finas, gran variedad (por simple que parezca, la margarita, que cuesta unos 5 €, es una de las mejores, por no decir la mejor).

Looking for true Roman style pizza? This place is it and legit! For those who don’t know, Roman style pizza has avery thin crust (almost cracker-​like texture). They have their menu in Italian, English, French, and German — Plus. Hubs ordered the Margherita pizza and I ordered the Zucchini Flower pizza. Both were buono! Zucchini flower seems like a local fav and was def tasty (although nothing particularly strong because I couldn’t quite pick its taste out form the pizza). Quick, fast, and cheap. We loved this place!

Passed this place several times to Frigidaire for gelatos. Each night there were lines out the door. We decided to try it out. Well worth it.
Didn’t see it come up on Unilocal or Trip Advisor. We were in line before it even open.
They didn’t have the tables ready but they seated everyone piling one next to the other. Then handed out tablecloths, silverware, and water glasses.
We didn’t mind sharing a table butt up against the next as we met some really nice ladies vacationing from Belgium. They said that «the place gets a lot of raves and a lot of local Italians eat there.»
We didn’t get to really peruse the menu. We felt pressure to order quickly (waiter rushing people next to us to hurry up in ordering and the long line of people waiting to be seated). Friendly professional and very focused staff.
We ordered the pizza marguerita and pizza baffetta. Very fresh thin crust fire oven baked pizza — –delicious. The medium size seemed so huge (pizzas come in medium or large). I didn’t think I could finish it, but it was so good I wanted to try something else. Suggest ordering different mediums and sharing. For 2 pizzas and a large bottled water, it costs us $ 19 Euros.

voyage en Italie, le guide du routard oblige… alors direction cette pizzeria, ok il y à la queue, ok, il y a du monde, ok vous êtes plusieurs sur une table façon cantine (excellent pour les rencontres) ok il y a du bruit, ça bouge, sa crit… mais n’êtes-vous pas en Italie? à Rome? endroit le plus visité au monde? je trouve que ça fait partie du dépaysement, de changement de «culture» si vous voulez des restos cul pincé de France oublier l’adresse… bref … donc Pizza excellente ! oui excellente ! des ingrédients de qualité, du vrai parmesan, de la vraie mozzarella, et tout ça pour la modic somme de 10 €? qui dit mieux… si vous aimez les pizzas épaisses, avec beaucoup d’ingrédients oubliez Rome ici c’est pâté croustillante à la farine de mais, et moins bourrative qu’ailleurs. Alors moi je dis si vous voulez du dépaysement, bien manger pour pas cher, de la vraie italie profonde allez-​y ! moi j’adhère !

Peu d’attente en y etant aller tot, 19h. Les pizzas sont bonnes gros bémol c’est l’accueil des serveurs!!! Aucun sourires, c’est la chaine, ils se fofilent entre les tables à une vitesse qui te fait accelerer le coup de fourchette, et donc né pas apprecier la détente! Heureusement que les pizzas sont bonnes c’est la seule chose de bien…

Nous sommes passés par hasard devant ce restaurant et avons été attires par la longue file d’attente (de touristes mais aussi de nombreux italiens). Première mauvaise surprise: le staff laisse passer les gens qui né respectent pas la file mais parlent italien.
Deuxième mauvaise surprise: alors que la terrasse semblait agréable et le rdc avait un certain charme, on nous catapulte à l’étage comme du bétail dans une salle nettement moins sympa avec l’airco au max.
A cet instant nous avions déjà envie de quitter les lieux mais nous avons naïvement pense que si ce restaurant avait autant de succès malgré un service aussi désagréable c’est qu’il y avait une raison.
Détrompez vous. Leurs pizzas sont bonnes mais pas incroyables et l’expérience désagréable tout au long du repas né les rend pas meilleures.
Né vous laissez pas avoir comme nous, fuyez ce lieu.

Au vue des commentaires dithyrambiques, j’ai vraiment cru qu’il s’agissait d’une bonne pizzeria !! Même la queue de 30 min à l’arrivée m’avait conforté dans cette idée ! Au final pizza immangeable, sèche, cartonneuse, insipide… Bref j’ai perdu un repas à Rome. Évitez cela, n’y allez pas !

Haben uns vom Reiseführer die perfekte, weil hauchdünne Pizza empfehlen lassen. Die Jungs mit dem Schnurbart hatten den Charme eines italienische Bauarbeiters und wollten uns den letzten Tisch hinten im Innenraum geben, obwohl draußen noch frei war. Wir haben das ignoriert und uns hingesetzt, wo wir wollten. Folge: Uns wurde die Karte auf den Tisch geknallt und genervt nach Getränken gefragt. Bis dahin sahen wir darin noch einen gewissen Unterhaltungswert. Die Pizza war dann aber nachlässig gewürzt und die Weinempfehlung dürftig. Trotzdem hatte das Ganze wenigstens typisch italienische Arroganz und unsere Erwartungshaltung wurde nicht wesentlich enttäuscht. Was soll man erwarten, nur ein paar Schritte vom Piazza Navona?!

da hast du uns ja schön reingelegt! :-(Eigentlich folgen wir deinen Empfehlungen ja gerne, denn beim Essen hat sich das bisher immer gelohnt. Doch bei Baffetto kam alles anders– Der Service typisch italienisch unfreundlich, ok. Doch die Pizza selbst war dann nur mittelmäßig: Schön dünn, ja. Aber am Rand verbrannt! Und die Margherita hatte keinen Basilikum wie war das mit den italienischen nationalfarben?!
Dafür war’s dann auch recht teuer: Für die einfachste Pizza 11 Euro. Pff.
Besser hat die Margherita übrigens bei Obika (Pizza Pomodore Biologico) geschmeckt. Das hat allerdings einen anderen, untraditionellen Flair.

Lange Schlange, Papiertischdecke und unfreundliche Bedienung werden durch eine der besten Pizzen der Stadt wieder wett gemacht. Mit 8−12EUR pro Pizza zwar nicht sonderlich günstig, doch leider so lecker, dass man den schlechten Service und das Anstehen sehr gerne und mit einem Schmunzeln in Kauf nimmt !

Le gros point positif c’est la note, qui est légère, plutôt rare à Rome. La pâte est fine, les pizzas gargantuesques mais elles sont assez fade finalement. L’accueil est moyen, alors que les Romains sont top au niveau de l’accueil, ici on se repose sur une réputation qui assure la fréquentation. Bof

Wie verrückt muss man sein, sich in eine lange Warteschlange zu stellen, um dann endlich in einem schmucklosen Lokal mit Tischdecken von der Papierrolle platziert zu werden? Man darf nur einen kurzen Blick in die Karte werfe, der ganze Tisch (bei uns acht Personen) muss zeitgleich bestellen. Die Toilette sieht grausig aus, der Service ist überheblich bis unfreundlich. Alles in allem ist es unterirdisch, bis das kommt, weshalb alle dahin gehen: die riesige, ganz dünne und saftig belegte Pizza. Sie ist so gut, dass viele wieder hierhin kommen werden und alles davor, vor allem diese Kellner, als interessantes Erlebnis abtun werden.

Wir hatten hier einen sehr lustigen Abend, mit viel Wein und viel Pizza.
Der alte Baffetto war sehr gesellig und schnacke fröhlich mit uns drauf los.
Der Laden ist voll, hektisch und laut. aber genau das macht es aus. wir tranken zu zweit 2 Liter Wein und verdrückten 3 Pizzenkonnten dabei den Pizzabäckern und Kellnern zuschauen! :)
Wenn wir wieder in Rom sind, kommen wir wieder! Denn die Pizza ist gut und man hat wirklich Spaß

Schlimm-​schlimm-​schlimm.
Altes, schmuddeliges Lokal, bei dem ahnungslose Touristen wie Sardinen in der Büchse reingequetscht werden um ihnen den Eindruck zu machen, dass es sich in einer tradizionellen Pizzeria so gehört.
Das Publikum besteht zu 100% aus Touristen, davon 80% Amis. Wahrscheinlich steht der Laden in jedem Reiseführer drin. Wir sind da zufällig reigekommen, es war noch zu früh für eine Schlange draußen.
Das einzig gute an Baffetto waren die Preise, die noch ok waren. Den Rest kann man knicken. Die Pizza war essbar, wobei die billigsten Zutaten nicht zu übersehen waren, der Rest (wir hatten Bruschetti und Crostini) war ungenießar — ohne Gewürze und Geschmack.
Der Service ist der Hammer!
Wen man platziert wird — sitzt man entweder halb im Gang (und bückt sich immer, wenn die Kellner mit dem Essen vorbeisausen), oder in die Ecke gequetsch oder fast auf dem Schoß beim fremden Nachbarn, denn hier gibt es keinen Tisch, der nich 100% voll gekriegt wird.
Die Bedienung ist sehr unfreundlich und überheblich.
Die Rechnung kriegt man während man noch isst. Wir waren schon mit dem Essen fertig und hatten noch eine Halbe Karaffe Wein, als der Kellener mit den nächsten Gästen kam und angefangen hat die Papiertischdecke mit den Gläsern wegzuräumen! Auf unsere Reaktion kam nur eine Antwort, dass der Chef es so verlangt.

Venir tôt en soirée…
Un patron très sympa et des serveurs qui le sont également (mais un peu moins car ils ont la pression du rendement). Une pizzéria qui respire la vie. Le choix est varié, le service est rapide. On né dédaigne pas les touristes. La localisation à l’angle de 2 rues piétonnes est plutôt agréable; le prix est correct. Bref, une adresse à recommander.

C’est la pizza qui compte !
Né cherchez pas un accueil agréable ni une déco à tomber: allez dans ce restaurant pour y déguster une pizza et en ressortir heureux ! L’affluence y est telle que je me suis privé de repas le midi afin d’être à table à 19h et ainsi m’assurer d’éviter la longue file d’attente qui né cessera de la soirée. Vous êtes rapidement placé à table à la façon d’une cantine de quartier et le serveur aura vite fait de vous proposer des Bruschetta. A moins d’être affamé la pizza suffira ! Une fois commandée, celle-​ci né tardera pas et l’envie de la dévorer sera tout aussi imminente. Enfin le reste de la commande sera tout aussi pressant. Je n’avais jamais vu une addition et son encaissement aussi rapide, normal il y a du monde dehors ! Pour quoi? La meilleure pizza que j’ai mangé ! Promis !

Oui il y a de l’attente mais elle est largement justifiée. Une vrai pizzeria romaine et pas un truc à touriste, pas cher et proposant les presque meilleures pizze (1) de Rome. Adresse inévitable pour tout amateur de l’Italie quand à Rome.
(1) Les meilleures sont chez Il Buchetto via Flaminia. Loin des zones touristiques et un pur régal pour l’amateur de pizze.

De prime abord, l’endroit né paye pas de mine (nappes et serviettes en papier, peu d’espace) mais indéniablement la meilleure pizza du monde à condition d’être
un (e) adepte de la pâte fine, bien sûr !

Attendre. Encore et encore. Trente minutes pour être assis (ok, on le savais) puis encore trente minutes pour être servi d’une pizza. Franchement, autre chose à faire dans ma vie. 2 pizzaiolos pour une centaine de clients c’est + que limite.
Vraiment on deconseille.

Après ¾ d’heure d’attente, une découverte unique; celle de la première et dernière véritable pizza que l’on n’ai jamais goutée. Une pâte hyper fine mais solide pour soutenir une garniture harmonieuse et onctueuse, que les italiens auront dévorée avant même notre deuxième bouchée! Le bonheur dans la bouche, le dépaysement total, un précieux souvenir! A né pas manquer!!!

An unserem ersten Abend kamen wir an einer Pizzeria vorbei, vor der eine Riesenschlange stand — dem da Baffetto.
Wir also überlegt: Wo so viele Schlange stehen, muß es gut sein. Als nix wie am nächsten Abend hin. Da wir schon so ca. 19.30 h da waren, mussten wir nur 5 min. warten. Wären wir nach innen gegangen, wär’s sogar ganz ohne Wartezeit gegangen.
Die Pizza ist wirklich oberlecker, die Kellner für den Massenbetrieb freundlich und die Preise o.K. 3 Pizzen, nach denen wir alle pappsatt waren, je 1 l Wasser und Wein und ein Softdrink für EUR 33,00 — und das mitten in Rom, ein paar Minuten von der Piazza Navona auf der einen und der Engelsburg auf der anderen Seite.

Bön d’accord, on y fait la queue (sauf à arriver avant l’ouverture !). Mais alors LA pizza, c’est vraiment ça ! Il n’y a pas de mots pour décrire cette perfection-​là. En plus, c’est à deux pas de la Piazza Navona, dans une rue piétonne sympa avec boutiques de fringues cool. Allez-​y en fermant les yeux sur les touristes avec guide sur la table, vraiment ça vaut le coup.

Se perdre dans les ruelles derrière la Place Navone vaut le coup même quand on est assaillie par une faim certaine après une journée de marche. On finit par tomber sur cette pizzeria qui, ressemble à bien d’autres pizzerias populaires de rome, mais qui à l’évidence, mérite son succès. Il faut être patient, attendre gentiment son tour car les romains, connaisseurs des bonnes adresses, attendent sur le trottoir sans chercher à resquiller et manifestent une patience étonnante. ils n’ont point tort, j’ai attendu aussi un bon quart d’heure avant de trouver une table en terrasse partagée avec d’autres et là, sublime pizza à la pâte étonnament fine et avec des assortiments des plus classiques aux plus audacieux, servis simplement dans une écuelle en métal. On y reviendrait presque tous les jours tant les prix modiques (6 à 10 EUR) le permettent.

L’adresse est connue mondialement donc il y a la queue, et y aller est depuis des decennies un incontournable de Rome donc allez y pour le fun, par contre la pizza n’est pas fabuleuse, une pizza «normale» fort de cet avis vous né vous attendrez pas à la lune et né serez pas deçu.
