Best kept secret in town, artichoke plate is a must, carbonara was perfect. Quaint little restaurant with great food and service. Will need to walk for a few minutes to get there, taxis aren’t allowed in the vicinity. It’s worth it.

Service: 5 stars — exceptional — waiters are professional, warm and give excellent recommendations Ambience: 5 stars — cozy typical neighborhood restaurant that locals come for the amazing food Food: 5 stars — freshly made, delicious, and comforting. Definitely recommend the daily specials and the tiramisu bomb! Price — very reasonable! Especially given the quality of the food. Overall: 5 stars!

The best thing I can tell you about Da Enzo is MAKE A RESERVATIONAHEADOFTIME. If you don’t, you can still try to get in for a later seating… but you’ll have to lurk outside the restaurant with all of the other would-be diners, like hungry sharks circling a particularly tasty dinner. And dinner here IS particularly tasty — the reviews which led me to Da Enzo, on the last night of our week in Rome, promised home-cooked, non-pretentious, family-focused Italian cooking — and that’s what this is. It’s delicious, simple, and reasonably priced, though the portions aren’t as big as some of the other restaurants we visited in Rome. Frankly, and probably since it was the last night of our trip, my stomach was okay with that! Definitely ask about the specials(though the waiter will probably tell you anyways — they’re super friendly and speak English well). We had a a zucchini carpaccio that was truly incredible: thinly sliced zucchini marinated and served with spices, chilled. I wish I could remember more about it, but we devoured it. The pastas were fantastic, but the real highlight of the evening were the meatballs. They were the perfect consistency — soft but not mushy — and flavored excellently, and came served in a bright red ladle of sweet-bright tomato sauce. As soon as they were gone, I wanted another order. Da Enzo is tiny, so I wouldn’t recommend it for big groups — our party of six waited several hours! But the food is great, and I’d definitely make a reservation for the next time I’m back in Rome.

Nice neighborhood joint, seemed to be filled with regulars at lunchtime. The staff’s English was a couple degrees of magnitude better than my Italian and they were very friendly. My wife loved her gnocchi. I tried one of the daily specials, a white lasagne. It was fine; I’d probably order off the menu next time(cacio e pepe and gnocchi both were the popular choices among everyone at adjacent tables).

This place was so good. It was the real Italian food you crave. The service was fantastic, and the food was the best we’d eaten in our 10-day trip. My suggesstion, if you want to eat dinner there, find it during lunch and put your name on the dinner list. We got there at 7:10 pm and put our name on the list. We didn’t eat until 9, but it was worth an even longer wait.

Autentico! Nada que ver con los tipicos sitios de turistas. Muy pequeñito, todas las mesas pegadas, muy romano. El personal encantador, creo que todos eran familiares o eso parecia. Rigatoni carbonara y cacio e pepe excelentes! Tiramisu de otro mundo. Un acierto.

Great food and service! While small and tight, everyone works here seem to be very efficient and nice. Service comes with a smile. We had Puntarelle and Deep fried Artichoke for starters. Both are delicious. We didn’t know what Puntarelle was, so we asked. After trying to explain the dish to us, the server brought a bit out for us to try. That was very nice and we ordered the dish. For our lunch entrees, we ordered Lasagna, Carbonara and Pasta Al Sugo Di Coda. While we all love our entrees, we all agreed that their Lasagna is the best we ever had. Their red house wine was really good as well. Best meal in Rome so far.

Our first night out and we found this small little gem by our BnB. The wait was long but well worth it. The staff was nice and the was food was just what I needed to kick off my Rome experience. The Oxtail cooked with tomatoes, pine nut, raisins and dark chocolate was my favorite dish. Differently worst another visit and highly recommended if anyone visits Rome.

Best meal in Rome, hands down. Agree with the other reviews, you must go early when or before they open or risk waiting since there’s limited seating inside. We stopped by at 7:15 on a Thursday and were able to secure a cozy table for four inside. The service is quick and efficient, all of the staff speak perfect English. The clientele was a mix of international tourists and locals. A half liter of table wine is only 6 euros and there are daily specials that differ from the daily menu selections. There are plenty of vegetarian options, even vegan specials. You must try the artichoke and burrata available(the burrata was an evening special). The only thing that didn’t «wow» me was the tiramisu dessert, but given that everything else was so delicious and perfect, this place truly deserves 5 perfect stars.

A fantastic meal while in Rome! Great pasta, great wine, and the staff speak English very well. It’s a small restaurant so be prepared to get cozy with the other patrons but the meal is totally worth it. Also get reservations in advance — this place fills up quickly! Note: the bathroom is horrible — watch out for that.

This place is pretty busy at lunch and dinner, not sure if it is because of reviews on Unilocal as well as TripAdvisor… personally I think the food is average and so is the service. Most of the customers are tourists. And only one bathroom!

You’d miss this place if it wasn’t for the line that forms in front of it every night! We got lucky that they’d still take us, the owner started telling people no eventually so that they could close! The place is absolutely tiny and you will sit very close to others. I think this is to squish as many people as possible so that they can feed more of us. To start, we had a huge portion of house-made Ricotta, wow! The pasta was obviously well-made and some of the best I had while in Italy. I had the Amatriciana and my husband had something similar to Cacio e Pepe. Both perfection. I wouldn’t change a thing. The house wine was delicious, and everything was well-priced. Everything here is of high quality. The food is most definitely 5 stars, it just depends on how hard you want to try to get it! You will probably be sharing a table with others and will stand in line for a while to do so. But, I’d do it again to know I was getting great pasta.

Located in Trastavere, Da Enzo is literally a hole in the wall that you could miss if you blinked. Why is it getting a reservation here is so difficult? The food is awesome. We were lucky to score a Monday 730 reservation. When we arrived at 720 the restaurant hadn’t opened but there was a crowd of people outside — some with reservations and some without. The service was very friendly and the young wait staff all spoke English — I think one of the waiters was Australian but spoke excellent Italian — although not that I would know. We were unfortunately seated next to some noisy patrons but the food still shined through. We had the following: — Fried Artichoke: so good — the whole thing is served and you literally eat the whole thing — the stem is the best part — Pasta Amatriciana: delicious sauce with perfectly cooked rigatoni and crispy fatty guanciale — Pasta Carbonara: Delficious again — I’ve heard this is some of the best carbonara in Rome and it didn’t dissapoint. A little soupy though but still good — they used penne though instead of spaghetti — Meatballs: Sooo good but of course I was stuff by this point and my wife couldn’t eat them so I solidieres through — Tiramisu: served in a cup — so good They have an excellent house wine they serve in small cups. All of the above was 50 euro. A great deal for great food.

One of the best meals I had in Rome! You can make a reservation(they will only take you at 7:30pm, when they open) or you can take your chances by just showing up. We got there around 7:45pm and waited only 15 – 20 mins. It helps if you’re a couple because the place is very small. We shared a long table with 2 other couples, making it very cozy. All the waiters speak good English so no problems communicating and everyone is very friendly. Check the specials board and if you’re in luck, they’ll have burrata. The burrata was thick and creamy, perfectly spreadable on bread, and accompanied by a small side salad. We also ordered cacio e pepe and the grilled lamb. Both were excellent choices. The pasta was perfectly al dente and had fresh cracked pepper. The lamb had fresh lemon wedges so you could bring out the flavour of the meat more. Save room for dessert! Splurge on getting two: tiramisu and the marscapone. They’re served in small cups and each good in their own way. The Tiramisu comes with nice big pieces of ladyfingers and even some Nutella. The marscapone is complemented by fresh wild berries which are so ripe and flavorful, it really makes the dessert special. All in all, I wish I had another night so we could have went back!

Simple ingredients, traditional cuisine, humble décor. You come to Enzo’s for the food. Excellent dishes, that include fresh«same day» made pastas cooked al-dente, rich sauces full of depth and flavors, sweet house wines, all without burning a hole through your wallet. I recommend making a reservation because otherwise it may be difficult to get a table. Tables are crammed together, and you can hear the conversations of those around you. Tourists looking over your shoulder at your dishes and listen in on your date night. Service was wonderful. We had two servers, and after we finished our meal, they offered us a free small plate of a different type of pasta because they wanted us to sample something else. They didn’t have to do that, and they went out of their way to bring us something else to try. The Tiramisu was one of the best we had in Italy. It was homemade and dense but full of flavor. Don’t leave without getting dessert, it would be a mistake. Is this place a little hyped up? Yes, most definitely, it’s like the typical hole in the wall, that all the tourists are«in the know» about, but is it good? It’s delicious!

Hallo miteinander, was soll man zu diesem super Lokal schreiben.

My Aunt happened to know the British Ambassador to Rome who recommended this place to us and it did not disappoint. Its very hard to get a reservation(they only take them for a 7:30 sitting, and won’t accept for more than 6 people), after that its first come first served and there was a long line outside waiting shortly after we sat down and for the duration of our meal. Almost everyone seemed to be a local aside from us which was also a good sign. We ate so much food its hard to remember everything and apparently the menu changes regularly but I will say every.single.dish was excellent, as was the local wine and the service, although they did rush us a little and asked us to leave almost as soon as we were done eating in order to turnover the table. We shared some appetizers including a delicious buratta, cod and cheese croquets and some fried artichoke. Then came the pasta course which for me was the highlight. As there were 5 of us we were able to get one of everything(small menu) and the stand out was definitely the carbonara which had some fantastic, crispy bacon in it. I had meatballs as my secondi and they were great along with a side salad and some«fries» which were actually freshly cooked chips/crisps. The lamb kebabs were also amazing. We were too full for dessert but I’m sure they were just as good as everything else on the menu, including the prices! This place is a must in Rome if you want a local gem not well known(yet) to tourists.

We had a reservation at 7:30 for 5 people and they are very prompt about the seating! No before, and don’t be late! It is proper Roman style food and we made sure to share the pasta portions so we didn’t miss the other courses. The food was good. I liked the meatballs and the carbonara was ok. The wine was delish. I don’t know if i’d make sure anyone had to eat here on their trip. it was definitely good, but to wait in the line they have and to be quickly turned over(though i must say, every meal is made on the spot and not pre-made as other places that have quick turn)… if you can get the reservation, go. and expect to only be there about an hour or so and get drinks somewhere else afterwards.

This is one of the places in Italy that I can’t stop thinking about since I got back. This place really set the bar high for me because from now on, italian food will never be the same! It was so good and I wished I dined here for all my nights in Rome, if I would have known sooner! We came here right when they opened(at 7:30PM) and we’re lucky we even got seated because it is a smaller restaurant and it seemed like a lot of people had made reservations already. I asked the waitor what the most popular item was and he said everything and he’s right. You really can’t go wrong with anything you order here. Just pick a pasta dish and a meat dish and I bet you it will be good! I highly recommend ordering olive oil with your bread because it was the best olive oil I’ve ever had in my life. Make sure you make room for dessert too because the tiramitsu was delicious! My hotel was across the lake and I had to take a taxi to get here and back, but I would do it over and over again because it was worth it!

Very authentic Italian food! This was our last dinner before departing Rome. Tips: Make reservations, but the wait is not too long if you’re unable to make reservations a few days before coming. We came here at 7:30pm without reservations and waited for the first wave of ppl, who made reservations, to be seated and finished. We were seated around 8:45pm. We ordered: House wine(very affordable): 2.5÷5 I guess you pay for what you get. Meatball: 3.5÷5 Delish! Fried Artichoke: 2.5÷5 Good but not great – not sure what the hype was all about. a bit too oily IMHO. Pasta with mussels and cream sauce(their daily special – see pic!): 4⁄5 This was my favorite dish on the table Carbonara: 3⁄5 good, but not super great Burrata: 4⁄5 always so good and refreshing! Wouldn’t mind dropping by if we were in the area again.
