BEWARE!!! While the pasta was fine, when I told the owner I was interested in a steak, he suggested a t bone he would custom cut for me. All set prices on the menu were 18 – 20 euro for grilled meats, I figured this couldn’t be too much more than that. When the bill came I was floored at the 63 euro t bone I’d just eaten. Wouldn’t have minded if it was world class, but it was a middling cut at best. Sucks to get suckered, but my fault for trusting the owner and putting myself in his hands. He even knew I was on my honeymoon! Take your business business elsewhere, plenty of honest restaurants that deserve your business on the area.

Bonne cuisine mi toscane mi romaine avec des viandes cuites au feux de bois. Mais relativement cher comparé aux autres restaurants du coin. Néanmoins les plats sont bon, variés. La carte est traduite en plusieurs langues(français, anglais)

A neat little place! And yay, someone who puts olive oil on your table for your bread. I know I’m a silly American, but it’s what I’m used to. We ordered a Caprese salad, a Meat plate, Beefsteak-ribeye, Grilled meat mixed plate, that included Young chicken, quail, sausage, pappardelle with boar meat was delicious. The best we’ve had. The ribeye was not that good. The mozzarella in the salad was flavorful though.

Authentic Romano food. This area of Rome is very cool and lively, almost any night of the week. Il Ciak has a comfortable inviting space in tucked into this area. The service and staff are great. The food is wonderful and the overall experience is one that lands this spot as a must return for any frequent travelers to Rome. Coming from Los Angeles, the name alone was amusing as it refers to the clapper used when filming movies/TV. There is plenty to look at inside and if you have the chance, ask the owners about when the Godfather was filming in Rome and the cast would come to eat!

Ok, this is a hunter’s restaurant. So don’t come here if you are vegetarian. I come here every time I am in Rome, what a fun place! We were staying near piazza bologna and i wasn’t sure which bus to take so i called. I do speak italian so that helps, and the signora informed me which bus to take and it dropped us off a few blocks away! We started with Crostini con paté di tartufi, then Bucatini alla amatriciana, and ended with Trittico di carne alla brace(cervo, cinghiale, maiale selvatico). We saved dessert for a gelateria in piazza navona, but go, run to this place. So great. I can’t say enough about this place, we absolutely love it! Maybe it’s all of the cinecitta stuff, but it really is wonderful! Thanks for making our last night in Rome, amazing!

We were looking for a place in the Piazza Trastevera Area. Once out of the cab we walk around until we stumbled across this little butcher shop looking place that did not look like much. But the wife wanted a steak and once inside the place opened up into a nice size restuarant. Every table had some remnants of bones and carcuses on their plates. The meat was gone. So we sat down and immediately a from the appetizer of trippa(Sauté Cow Intestines) Which I have not had this dish for 20 years. This Dish was the best I have ever had in my Life. To the T-Bone Steak was Perfect. This Restuarant can stand toe to toe with any steak house in the US.

We ended up going there twice in the last week. We actually spent valentines there. The place is real cosy. From the outside it looks more like a butcher with the meat fridge showing of the goods and looks small. Inside it opens up intro several seating sections so that even though there are space for relatively many guests it still feels cosy and personal. The cooking is spilt up between the grill near front door. While the kitchen proper are in the back. The first night we sat near the grill, were we could watch the grillmaster work, quite funny and impresive when the place are full. The staffing seems like one big family and it is quite funny to watch Them interact. The food were great. There seems to be a focus on grilled items from the grill. But there are some greath alternatives as well. They adhere to the regular italian dinner construction with a starter, a first and a second main course. Nice system in my opinion but it gives a large meal, they seem ok with alternatives though. I would highly recomend that you try the t-bone, called bistika Fiorentina. Its f… Greath. Best steak i have had in years. Be aware that they dont ask you how you want your steak, they just grill it to perfection. Bloody and red. Perfect in my humble opinion.

Wonderful Mama — ebullient and fun. Great food and quirky aesthetic — everything from a boar’s head to B&W Elvis photos, and old Italian movies on TV. Really worth a visit. Save room for the spectacular desserts.
