I strayed from these seemingly«touristy» spots the whole trip but came here because my sister had previously eaten at this restaurant on a trip to Rome. Did not regret it. It’s busy but it’s kind of nice to sit outside to watch the touristy hustle and bustle. The service is nothing to write home about, but whatever you can overlook it. Zucchini blossoms /flowers were solid. Bruschetta was AMMAZZZINNGGGG — so so so delicious!!! and ginormous — drool. Pesto fettucine was so fresh and one of our favorites!!! FINALLY — Best. Tiramisu. Ever. We ordered one. Ate it all. Then ordered another. No regrets

If you’re in Roma, come here for sure. Its in Trastevere which is the first great part, on a cute little street. I studied abroad here and we came all the time. They have this amazing deal, which is nice for abroad students where you pay 15 euro a person in a big group and you get the full 5 course experience with a very generous amount of wine. Started with vino de casa,(bianco or rosso) and it just seemed to flow all night. They would bring bruschetta pomodoro and fungi, calamari, fried zucchini with sauce, vodka penne, tortellini ragu, lasagna, chicken parmesan, tira mi su, and limoncello to finish. We would literally sit here for hours and the food just keeps coming. After, wander around Trastevere because it is beautiful. Its a very residential and classy area of Roma where you can really see how Italians live. It is not touristy at all and very charming.

Wish there was a way I could blink my eyes and their penne alla vodka and chicken parm could appear in front of me. Seriously, get both and split them, I’ve never tasted something like this. Even the way the chicken is presented is totally different than what I was used to and I was absolutely okay with it(it’s more baked and uhhhhh just sits in the melty cheese and simmering sauce!!!)

Love this place! We were in Rome for 4 days and we literally came here three times. The waiters are funny and very attentive. It’s such a good deal for so much food. You can get a bottle of the house wine for 10 $ a bowl of pasta for 7 $, bruschetta for two for 3 $. It’s honestly perfect! Great vibe in such an amazing city.

Wow hostaria del moro is one of the best and well visited restaurants during my time in rome for 5 weeks. Their seafood pasta game isnt as strong as other places but my god can we talk about their freah ass tomato sauce used in everything!!! Seattle lacks great italian food and honestly the US has way worse quality of ingredients and italy just blows every nation with its tomato quality. BAZAMMIM A TOMATOAND I HAVEROBUSTSWEETFLAVOR!!! Their lasagna btw was my favorite and their seafood assortment was a delicious mixture of fried shrimp, sardines and fish which went so great with their intoxicating house red. Ugh take me back to cheap good house wine in italy ~~~

Wow just finding this on Unilocal.I was there in 2012. We ate dinner there for 1 night and lunch on our day of departure. Excellent food. Chicken Parm. best calamari I have ever had. Best local wine. bottle with. Tony’s picture on it. He is a gracious host. I don’t know if he ever goes home. He had even comped us dessert. I would definitely go again on another visit to Rome.

The best part of the meal was the bread. My wife and I had the caprese, which consisted of cut up tomato with store bought mozzarella balls that had not been preseasoned, other than the dry jarred basil they sprinkled on them. For dinner I got lasagna and my wife got eggplant parm which we were assured was very good. My lasagna was bland and unexciting. Her eggplant parm was shredded eggplant in grease and mozzarella– there was no sauce to be found. She couldn’t get past the second bite. This is not authentic Italian food. If you’re looking for a real Italian experience, keep looking.

20 € deal is the best thing ever invented. 5 courses, bread, wine, antipasto. I was in long need of a good Italian meal when I went here and it did not disappoint one bit! We ended up sitting there at dinner for 3 and a half hours between the wine and being stuffed, we almost missed our connecting flight! Highly recommended, can’t wait to come back.

What a great place for dinner! It’s in an area filled with lots of bars, gelaterias and shops. We started off with a small bottle of the house red, so good and simple! We then had a pizza with hot peppers and mozzarella… Nice and spicy! Hubs had the chicken parm because of all the great reviews. It was amazing and the melted and crusty cheese on the sides of the plate were the best to pick off! The chicken was tender and flavorful. I had the fettuccini with pesto. Pretty good, but a bit too rich of a sauce for me. I’m not used to such a creamy pesto. The complimentary lemon ice was so delicious and a perfect way to end the meal! I would definitely recommend this place!

Hostaria del Moro al Toni was recommended to us and we will definitely recommend it to others! The service was excellent, the location perfect, crowded with good reason, but we were sat immediately, despite being early for our reservation. The house white wine was easy to drink and the food(appetizer of fried calamari, sides of roasted peppers and fettuccini with pesto sauce, entrees including veal scalloping with mushrooms, ravioli with truffles, chicken parmigiana and linguini with clams all beyond delicious. We ordered too much but had to try everything, and we’re not even scoffed at when we asked for boxes to take the remainders back with us! Despite being full, we could not refuse when our server brought us plates of fresh pineapple and lemon sorbet to complement the meal. Toni watched over it all and visited near the end of the meal, he is definitely a great host, and has an excellent establishment. Thumbs up on all counts!

We had a great time here! The eggplant parmesan and fettuccine al Pesto were out of this world. And, to top it off, the friendly Bangladesh server gave us Tiramisu on the house. Highly recommended for vegetarian options!

This place sure is popular. The pizzas look awesome. I didn’t try though so I’m not sure if they also taste awesome. What I did try was their beef steak which was over cooked even though we ordered medium rare. It probably was until they put it and served it on that sizzling plate making it overcooked in less than 5 minutes. The clams and mussels, on the other hand, are cooked just right. Coperto I think was 1 € per person.

What can I say… The reviews before mine about this place are so similar– if you know this place you love it. Picture this– Friday evening in Rome in the Trastevere neighborhood– around 8:15 pm– ish. All cafes/ristorantes packed with tourists and locals alike(or at least the places that are good). I am solo tripping and no reservation anywhere– which placed me out of another place close by. I Unilocaled and found this place earlier in the day, but had no clue I would just stumble upon it. As an unsuspecting couple tried to decide upon eating here, Tony pointed at me and said ‘you eat?’ And I swooped in! I had half bottle of the house white– very nice and a very reasonable price. Was Then served wonderful bread, had insalate, followed by the veal in lemon sauce. Everything so simple and yet so amazing– home run hit! Go there, order anything– I may take friends there tomorrow night and I’ll either get the salmon I was eyeing or the oxtail– everything looked amazing. Tony really is such a sweet man– kissing, hugging his regulars– and making the not so regulars feel so at home and taken care of. What more can I say…

I’ve been to «Tony’s» restaurant several times over the past couple years(airline employee). Very good food(try the eggplant or chicken Parmesan) and terrific prices. Delicious appetizers are on the table within minutes of being seated. Staff is always friendly and courteous. Tony has his own wine label and treated us like royalty. I will go back again and again. Easy walk over the Ponte Sisto bridge from the piazza Novona area. Highly recommend Tony’s!

This place is fabulous! Just a fun and happy atmosphere with delicious and consistent food at good prices! Everything we had here was very good and the waiters are friendly and cheerful. Family friendly but also a great place for a relaxing date, I think we had the best Caprese Salad and bruschetta here out of all the places we went to in Italy. Highly recommended… and I’m a pretty picky foodie. Two appies, bottle of wine, three delicious entrees and Tiramisu for 59 Euros? Yes, please!

Came on a recommendation by a friend… Something along the lines of «oh my gosh, you’re going to be in Rome? You NEED to go to Tony’s!» Not a tourist attraction, not a shop, but a restaurant first and foremost. I took down the info… To sum it up briefly, this is the best Italian food experience I ever had. The service was impeccable. Immediately seated by a smiling waiter at a table with a classic setup. The décor, the table clothes, the painting, the lighting, etc. all very authentic. 1 point. Ordered a half-bottle of the house wine that was branded with the Hostaria del Moro da Tony name. It was good and affordable, another point on the board. I was told to try the Penne a la Vodka. I ordered it, they turned it out in under 10 minutes piping hot. The portion was HUGE! The sauce was unbelievable. The pasta was perfectly cooked. I sat there, in disbelief, making love to this dish. I couldn’t believe how good it was. Another strong point. I came back a second time… Got the Chicken Parmesan, it was maybe even better than the Penne a la Vodka. The cheese was crispy on the edges and gooey in the middle. Again, making sweet love to the dish. I finish, they sweep away my empty dish within seconds. Like I said, the service was impeccable. Very attentive. The first time around, I’m sitting there texting my gf and look up to the waiter bringing a complimentary piece of cake for me to enjoy. The second time, a complimentary tiramisu and limoncello. I mean, COMEON. Can this get any better??? It was all so GOOD. I don’t know if I would have ordered it myself, but damn was it delicious. 7 points for free stuff. To top it all off, THEPRICE! So affordable and manageable for a meal in Rome. The food quality was so good that I was ready to pay whatever, but it ended up being under 15 € for the dish and a half-bottle. 347 points. The best Italian food experience I ever had. I hope to come back every time I’m here. I even got to meet THE Tony on the way out, said a big ol’ thanks and promptly passed out from a food coma. Win win win.

I studied abroad in Rome in Spring 2011 and Tony’s was easily my favorite restaurant for a couple reasons: the food, the service, the location, and how inexpensive it is. I loved Tony’s so much I went to eat here at least once a week and during my last week abroad ate here probably 3 times. Obviously when I went back to visit Rome, Tony’s was my very first trip before even exploring the city. Location: Tony’s is located on small street in Trastevere that is right over the river from the center of Rome and easy to get to by tram to the Belli stop. I loved eating and going out in Trastevere during my time in Rome so even if you are travelling, this neighborhood isn’t one to miss. Food: Unlike most restaurants in Rome, this one gives out free bread and lots of it. Paired with olive oil and balsamic at every table and the meal is already off to a good start. I also like to get the tomato bruschetta here. It’s two euros and pretty big and delicious. For my entrée, either the penne alla vodka or the chicken parm. The chicken parm is literally a plate of chicken covered in cheese. Both dishes are equally delicious. I try to go with a friend who will agree to split them so that I can have both. Out of every time I’ve been to Tony’s I don’t think I have ever ordered anything other than these two entrees. And lastly, the staff at Tony’s always gives out free limoncello or tiramisu at the end of the meal. Hope you get tiramisu because it’s amazing. Last time I was here they didn’t realize they had already given us tiramisu so we ended up with two! Service: Not to mention the free bread and dessert, the service here is pretty good. Even on a busy night I’ve never had to wait longer than 5 minutes. That being said, on a busy night they may rush you out of here to clear the table and get the next group in the door. Any time I’ve eaten here, I’ve paid around 15 euros for my meal including wine, water, appetizer, and entrée which is an incredible deal for the quality of the food. Why only 4 stars you ask? Although I am obsessed with Tony’s, it isn’t a five-star restaurant. If you’re looking for amazing, yet somewhat Americanized food, at a very cheap price then this is the place for you!

Walking around the neighborhood one night we plopped down here for some reason mostly because of indecision and hunger. In the end it was a pretty good choice. The wait staff was helpful and nice, and what we had was one of the better meals of the trip. I got a huge plate of seafood pasta for only 10 Euro, which really surprised me. The taste was good and all the clam and mussel shells actually had something inside, which can’t be said about other places I ate at. My friend’s truffle tortellini(I think it was that) had an awesome flavor too.
