I almost never write bad reviews, but this is my warning to all to eat elsewhere. Similar to what sounds like everyone else, we were recommended here on NYE by our hotel. We were asked what hotel we were from when we entered. Obviously this is the main source of their business. However, the restaurant never really got packed, which is telling. The atmosphere and ambiance was nice – nothing super fancy – nothing to warrant our ridiculous bill! We discovered AFTER that each cocktail was 20 € each(and it was NYE…)! Our food was ok, not bad, but certainly not worth what we paid. Then on top of that, the server seemed towards the end to be too busy. We asked another server for our check and didn’t get it. Had to ask again from our main server. Then after all that waiting and overall mediocre service, he had the audacity to say«the service is not included». Well, TOOBAD. Maybe they can pay you a kickback from the alcohol gouging. Overall, it really was a downer on our evening. We aren’t penny pinchers, and would definitely spend equivalent money on a nice meal and experience, we just didn’t feel that this was that.

We knew we were in trouble when they asked when we came in «what hotel are you from»… and being pushed on the(live!) pricey lobster. Service is very attentive and super friendly, but there is a lot of upselling pressure, so don’t fall for it. Nice place(super quiet tho— makes it awkward if only a few couples) and very good food, but didn’t like feeling like we were in a tourist trap. Waiter knew we were budget conscious(well, we pushed hard for the 80Euro/kilo lobster rather than the 130E/k) so at the end we got lemoncello on the house with some cookies. Lots of Americans. It was someone’s birthday so they put a flame stick in a cheesecake, turned off the lights and sang. Memorable, and amusing to bystanders. Very good fresh food, expansive menu, some outdoor seating, tucked on a quiet street. just bring a big pocket $$$ book!

Amazing service and great seafood! The hotel recommended it to us, and I am glad they did :) I started off with a caprese salad which was fresh and delicious. Then I ordered a flavourful lobster pasta. The service was out of this world, and the waiters went out of there way to make us happy. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone who visits Rome! :)

The food was good, but extremely expensive. Our hotel had recommended this restaurant to us. The service and staff were great, but we were the only ones dining for a good 45 minutes. Overall, the food is good quality, but the price is way to high for what you receive.

Extremely expensive. With so many good places to have great dinners in Rome this is not a place that you want to visit. To put it in two words: tourist trap, avoid it before it’s too late.

After struggling to find somewhere to have dinner on Christmas Eve we decided to try this place out. First of all they charge you 6EUR for a bread basket full of pre-packaged goods. We didn’t even touch it and we were still required to pay for it. Then 7EUR for a 0,75L bottle of water? You have to be kidding! The food is average at its best. 28EUR for a small sized dish of linguini with 4 very small pieces of lobster. The place screams tourist trap, more specially so when you realize that there are no locals eating there. My best piece of advice would be to avoid this place at all costs but if you still want to check it out ask for a menu before sitting down and see it by yourself.

This was the best meal we’ve ever eaten in our lives. My wife had the white truffle pasta which was one of the best things either of us have ever eaten. I had the sea urchin roe pasta, and it was spectacular. And we shared the sea based baked in salt. Everything from the wine selection, to the service was perfect. I’ve eaten all over this globe, and I cannot recall a more superb dining experience. I was shocked, because I wasn’t expecting this at all. We went there for dinner, and were there from nine until well past midnight. I will return every time I’m in Roma. It is expensive, for sure, but if you’re looking to treat yourself, this is the place to do it. I cannot imagine better.

This is a very good restaurant recommended by our hotel staff(Hotel Artimide). The food and service were excellent, with complimentary Prosecco, Limoncello and cookies. Definitely a tourist destination. Our waiter was so smooth, we didn’t realize we were being upsold until the bill arrived. That said, you can’t go wrong here if you’re not embarrassed to inquire about the price of each dish. But all said, our best meal in Rome.

No exactly as romantic as we anticipated otherwise might have been worth a 5 star, but a wonderful dining experience non-the-less. They have an extensive menu and even more extensive wine list, but were quite helpful in helping us select the right choices. The staff was pleasant and bustled about even taking the lobster or fish selected from the iced display up front to the kitchen and then serving the filets at the table. The minestrone soup I had was perfect for fighting off the slight cold I had picked up on the flight over. Would definitely recommend to anyone, just don’t expect it to be overly romantic.

Went here for a romantic dinner on my honeymoon as our wonderful receptionist at the La Griffe Hotel recommended. Let me tell you that the service was excellent. They really treated us like royalty. Very friendly and attentive staff. Everything the waiter recommended was delicious. We had an appetizer that was to die for. It was sliced beef filled up with a creamy cheese and truffle. I’m not crazy about beef but that stuff was bomb! I ordered a shrimp Risotto that was the best thing I’ve ever had compared to any rice or risotto dish I’ve tried. Even my husband that is not crazy about risotto loved it. The sauce was creamy but not too heavy and the shrimp was tender and sweet. Almost tasted like lobster. My husband had the filet with a berry sauce and he was in heaven. The waiter suggested we tried the Tiramisu and since everything he suggested was amazing I agreed even though I don’t like tiramisu. It was absolutely delicious, not your typical tiramisu though. At the end they gave us complimentary homemade cookies(still warm) and Limoncello. I highly recommend this place if you want to have an amazing experience and great food. Not cheap though but worth every penny errr Euro I mean.

Stopped by for lunch as I was staying in the Rome Central area. I looked to Unilocal for a recommendation and this got great reviews(albeit only two). I was warm/y greeted as I entered the brightly, but cluttered restaurant. The staff spoke very little English, but I was able to order the lobster linguini and a split of chardonnay. The food came promptly, there was only one large party of 7 people in the restaurant with me. The linguini was slightly salty and the lobster came in pieces of lobster in the shell. I was not willing to work for so little meat, but managed to make it through. I forgot about the«bread charge» where they charge you in lieu of tip. He made out more than okay, but that is alright because I really enjoyed the experience. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. I really did not eat enough to judge the food for a recommendation. But if you want to be waited on in style, this is the place. It was an expensive lunch…
