Fantastic!!! The food was outrageously good. Each bite a taste sensation. We were very early for lunch but they accommodated us so warmly. The staff were attentive the wine list extensive the service impeccable. Best restaurant in Venezia!!! Whatever you do visit this place… You won’t regret it. *get the crema di patate con tartufo

Fabulous restaurant! It’s right on the water which is nice and may seem a bit out of the way but close enough to the ferry stop to be worth the ride. You can sit inside or out depending on the weather. We chose inside since it was a bit chilly and the décor is very very nice. Great service as well. They have tasting menu options or you can order from the menu, which we did. The zucchini flowers and langoustines app was really tasty but do wish they gave a little more. For a main course the rabbit rage over pasta was incredible. The rabbit was perfectly cooked as was the pasta and the olives were a spot on addition. Also try the pasta with scallops and carrots, great cream sauce on that dish as well.

The food was decent… but the waiters were rude. Very pretentious. The food and service down the street was way better as was the service.

Great food, great service! We had a wonderful waiter who was able to suggest us what is «a must’ to try. Will always recommend this place to friends who travel to Venice.

Very disappointing. We tried this restaurant based on numerous great reviews and were very disappointed in the service and the food. We arrived at 8pm, ordered shortly after. Food did not arrive until after 9:30. Some of the dishes were cold. Flavor and quality was not good. We were very unimpressed. Food was not worth the price.

Such a disappointing meal for our last night in Venice. We booked this restaurant based on a recommendation from our hotel concierge(perhaps that was our first mistake) but checked TripAdvisor and Unilocal reviews to make sure it was good before reserving a table. Arrived at 8:30pm and the place was EMPTY! Another bad sign. Ordered a glass of prosecco which was forgotten. Cut our losses and ordered a bottle of wine(recommended by our waiter) which was awful. Entrees(vegetables with mozzarella and the prawns in zucchini flowers) were just ok. Wouldn’t order again. Then the mains; these were truly terrible. I had the gnocchi which another reviewer called«blobs of mashed potato» and I couldn’t agree more. The six blobs didn’t resemble gnocchi at all. And in Italy! My husband had the fish(riccolo or something?) which was cooked almost raw, very pink in the middle which he didn’t like and did not expect from a white fish. He left most of it. When the waiter came to collect the plates he queried as to why so much was left and my husband said that it was undercooked/raw. The waiter just stared back and didn’t offer any compensation or even an apology. Needless to say we skipped dessert. It was our worst food experience in all of Italy, and the most expensive. 2 entrees, 2 mains and 1 bottle of wine was $ 115euro. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere in Venice. La Zucca gets our vote, we had a great lunch there!

This is a fantastic place to stop for dinner. We were four and tried many items from the menu. The food is all skillfully prepared and innovative at the same time. Service is attentive but that doesn’t mean that you feel rushed at any time. We had items ranging from veal cheeks to pasta and let’s just say the food was so good that the talking at the table ceased when each course was brought out. The only issue is the proximity to the Vaporetto stop. Occasionally you will get a whiff of diesel exhaust but is fleeting and the view far outweighs the sounds and smells.

We came in for a late lunch. We had fantastic pasta(one sardine, the other melanzanne/auberine/eggplant) and deserts. The tiramisu they tailored for the kids swapping the coffee for chocolate truffle. With excellent, friendly service, it we’ll deserves these good reviews.

After a month in Europe we were in need of a really relaxing upscale dining experience. We found it here. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable. The atmosphere stunning and relaxing. My husband and I have two well behaved pre teens, that being said, I still prefer to arrive to a restaurant early so that couples will feel less intimidated(put off by children) in the later hours. We did arrive here 30 minutes before the kitchen officially opened but they generously allowed us to sit out on the deck and have wine while they set up. Dinner was fabulous and we ended up spending three hours here. My husband and I and our children were absorbed in the meal and all of the flavors. With out the worry of driving, we ended up ordering a lot more wine than we would have otherwise. This may be the reason that the manager comped us incredibly beautiful deserts. Some kind of sorbet with berries and mint and another flavor that I wish I could remember. A perfect meal for our last evening in Venice. Also, this restaurant is off the tourist path. It definitely has a more authentic taste and feel. I almost don’t want to leave such a good review. I very nearly wish to keep it a secret. Last thing, the photos that people have posted are a very accurate representation.

Notre restaurant rituel.

We just happened to be in Venice when some friends were and she picked this restaurant based on location and rave reviews about the food. We got really good seats overlooking the water. The pasta was amazing! After having handmade pastas I always say I would never go back to machine made ones. The texture was perfect! All of their dishes were very good; I don’t think there was a complaint at all. The staff was a little cold though but we enjoyed our lunch there.

Fantastic! Make a reservation for dinner on the dock. Don’t miss this place. I had the Venice chicken which was incredible. Wife had the sea bass which I found slightly bland buy perfect for her taste. On the higher end price wise but worth every penny.

Very nice place, great location, great food, great service, great wines! We had a great diner at this quite modern restaurant. They make the traditional dishes with a modern twist. We wanted to taste as much as we could and were able to share dishes of antipasti, primi, secundi, a great Italian cheeses platter, and dulce with very nice local Veneto wines and a nice special desert-wine. Probably you already know but most restaurants fill up easily in Venice so reservations are a good way to prevent disapointment. There is a great terrace overlooking the lagoon towards the Cemitero and Murano islands. The terrace can be in the shadow for a big part of the day and if it is windy it will definitely be too cold to sit outside here anyway. The restaurant is right at the Fundamente Nuove boat stop and it is about a 15 minute walk across the Canneregio area from Rialto.

I normally do not write reviews. But This is the best restaurant I ever had in Italy. Best wine and best steak, highly recommended. Seafood is fresh and very tasty. Don’t forget to get yourself a homemade dessert. You can sit next to the river, but I choose to sit inside, which is also very good. The location takes some time to walk, but it worths. The price is just a little higher than others in Venice, but the food and service is much more better.

* Best dinner in Venice and Italy * We dined on a beautiful dock over the water * The place is located away from the tourists and off the main streets of Venice * Impeccable service * Steaks on the menu, which is a rarity in Italy * Homemade tiramisu was the best I have ever had * Delicious and creamy basil, lemon sorbet * Great house Pinot Grigio

I found it hard to rate this place in the sense that it had a lot of the things I had hoped for but missing some things I would consider essential. For location this is definitely a 5 stars. It’s quiet, romantic, classy and understated. It’s away from all the tourist areas and very calm and peaceful. The service is impeccable and the waiter we had was incredibly accommodating. They also did everything to ensure our special occasion truly felt special. The food however was 3 stars for me. My steak was cooked to perfection but lacked seasoning. The tuna tartar was nice but the sauce had a really flowery taste to it instead of the Wasabi flavour. My wife had a tart which was supposed to have cheese and cherry and as it turns out it was cheese and chicory(yes there is a big difference). Coffee here is excellent. Maybe I should come back try the seafood and pasta as my wife loved her Truffle infused spaghetti :-) I would definitely come back here for ambience and service and try something different next time.

Excellent place to sit and have a drink or a meal on a sunny day on the waterside. Looking out on San Michele as the boats go past is so relaxing! You have a view of the airport runway in the distance too so you can see planes landing. They do a great spritz and the lemon sorbet with mint and basil is lovely. It’s a must if it’s a nice day.

This is certainly one of the top 10 restaurants in all of Venice for outstanding Italian food with an incredible ambiance. The food is absolutely delicious and beautifully represented. The terrace is simply marvelous with amazing views overlooking the lagoon. If you are looking for a romantic Italian restaurant which you’ll remember forever this is the place. Friendly service, beautifully prepared food, great views, and delicious wine. I highly recommend this restaurant with 5 stars!

Will man abends essen sollte man aber reservieren

When I lived in Venice, it took a while to seek out the truly good eateries that didn’t have point and eat menus in multiple languages, or charge the earth for mediocre offerings. Unfortunately for me back then, I didn’t find Algiubagio, even though it’s been run by the same family for 50 odd years. On a more recent visit to Venice, Monsieur and I stayed at a hotel on the Fondamente Nuove, looking out across the lagoon at San Michele, however, when we arrived it was late at night and not many places in the vicinity were still serving food. We were starving so the hotel receptionist pointed us a few doors down the Fondamenta to Algiubagio. This was to be one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in Italy. In spite of our lateness, the staff were welcoming and a waiter who’d once worked in London carefully guided us through the menu. We chose a starter selection platter to kick off with, including a most unusual mix of tastes, from carpaccio of reindeer to a spoonful of creamy cheese from the Veneto topped with lagoon-grown grapes. The carbon footprint of most of the food served at Algiubagio is low, because wherever possible, they use local produce. Even the olive oil, pressed by a firm called Planeta, was out of this world — probably hence the name. We fought over the trofie, small handmade twirls of pasta, simply drizzled with oil and tossed with cherry tomatoes, diced mozzarella and rocket, and I tried their juicy wild duck breast, which was flavoured in a semi-Asiatic way with aromatic spices. The menu boasts Argentinian Angus beef in a number of tempting guises, including one fillet served with apple and chocolate sauce. If you’re into beef and can forget about food miles for a moment, this is an Algiubagio signature dish. Vegetarians won’t be left out in the cold, however; there is plenty of choice: a number of fresh salads, various warm vegetable dishes and pastas. In spite of the richness of the dishes on Algiubagio’s menu, the prices are varied to suit wallets of different sizes. For instance, the wine list, which typically features local wine, starts at 14 Euros per bottle — not bad for pricey Venice. In addition to formal dining, Algiubagio offers informal daytime snacks of tramezzini sandwiches or pastries and rich coffee from their bar overlooking the lagoon. This place is no secret from the locals, who flock here for their morning repast. On summer evenings the terrace is littered with candlelit tables, from which diners enjoy gazing out at the islands of the lagoon, whilst in winter the dining room is warmly lit, providing a comforting respite from the chill Venetian air. The building in which Algiubagio is located used to be a boat-house, or barchessa, which you can see from its structure, but has been sensitively refurbished to provide a traditional feel with modern accents. The kitchen is open to the dining room, which I always appreciate because it shows that the chefs have nothing to hide. It’s also added entertainment for the patrons, if they enjoy watching pans flick and flames flash in the preparation of their food. Algiubagio passed our 3x test; we visited the restaurant three times during our last stay. It has also passed the recommended-to-a-friend test; when a colleague visited Venice I insisted she try Algiubagio and she was so thrilled by her experience that she brought me back a gift. Algiubagio is a must-try restaurant; it’s almost worth booking a weekend in Venice to eat here.
