Caffe’ Matteo

First of all this caffe is in Corniglia, not Vernazza. Anyways, I was drawn into this caffe by a server who kept on emphasizing «no cover charge» and «free wi-​fi.» FREE FUNCTIONING wifi in Italy?! SOLD!
My group opted for the outdoor seating because we were sweating bullets from our hike from Vernazza. The menu was quite simple. I ordered a tomato pesto mozzarella bruschetta and an aperol spritz (prosecco + aperol). The bruschetta was good, while the aperol spritz was… really boozy. It was great! I tried my friend’s pink tequila drink (sorry forgot what it was called) and that was even more boozy! The staff was super friendly and really added to the overall lively atmosphere.
There’s also a drinking fountain on the wall in the outdoor seating area. I refilled my water bottle here so I didn’t have to pay for bottled water.

This place is actually in Coreglia, and is fantastic. Great cappuccinos — I had like 10 — and great prices on fresh pastries, food and drinks. The FREE WIFI was good as well!

Another quick breakfast while in Italy. Focaccia sandwich with caffe – good, simple and easy! Staff was super friendly and we loved that change of character as opposed to most service we’ve gotten. Stop for a quick bite or explore their extended lunch/​dinner menus.

Chef and waiter both very friendly. Good food both in the evening and morning. Recommended. Much more friendly than the very bad «La Lanterna»

Very nice waitress, good food and very fast. They also have free wifi. The waitress even checked the check with us! I would highly recommend it!

This place is always opened and the service is friendly. I visited there for my espresso needs during my 3 day stay in the town. Good espresso for a good price.

Food was alright. Pasta was delicious (but anything with pesto is good here). Pizza tasted like it was a frozen pizza thrown in the oven. All in all a good experience, just think we could have done better during our short time in Italy.

We were in need of nourishment after climbing into town. We were wandering in the alleyways when we came across Mateo. We liked the outdoor eating area and decided to eat here. We ordered lasagne presto, freogie presto?, and gnoogni presto because we never had them before. All there plates were so good that we ate everything. The presto sauce was so good we were dipping the complimentary bread in the sauce after all the pastas were gone. The service was excellent. Our total bill was $ 30. Also, free Wi-​Fi with your meal.

I came in to grab a soft drink here and use their Wifi. They have a great location and the wifi is strong, but must be used inside. The server was also very nice. I would recommend for a quick stop in town!

Quenched my thirst with a cold beer and then treated myself to the Pesto Lasagna and it was killer!!!

Very good coffee, nice and friendly service. Also brings caffe macchiato or lemon beer although they are not in the menu.
The café is on a nice piazza and you can eat outside.

The pizza is really good and enough for sharing (since we’ve been snacking on calamari and gelato the whole way). They have free Wi-​Fi and take credit card. Good little place to stop before going on your hike.

Great food at such reasonable prices. Free wifi. Service was excellent. You will not walk away hungry.

Great breakfast deals! Really liked the eggs and bacon (not American style bacon FYI) with yogurt fresh squeezed OJ/​grapefruit/​lemon juice and espresso. For 7 € it’s a great deal in my book.
Also they have good lunch and dinner foods. I especially liked their pesto gnocchi.
Open late! Plus of corse the all important free wifi.
