Leonardo’s Dining Room and Wine Loft

Coming to Leonardo’s, you’d definitely be in for a treat. Inspired by non other than the famous Leonardo da Vinci, you can see it in their interior design with the raw brick walls and antique décor. Dim yellow lightning illuminates this place, perfect for a romantics date.
One would not expect a Western restaurant to feature a typical Chinese dish such as roasted pork belly however I dare say they do it as good and perhaps even better than the original. Soft and light texture fills your mouth and the meat together with the fat practically melts in your mouth leaving you wanting more. For something of an appetizer, it sure carries the price of a main course at Rm37.
For the main course, I could not help but go for the Australian Angus Rib eye Steak cooked to a medium doneness. The steak cut is pretty thick so there is a lot of blood oozing out of the meat when I cut it but nevertheless it was simply amazing. Tender and juicy, it was probably one of the best steak I’ve ever had at that point in my life.

Nestled in upscale residential area of Jalan Bangkung Bangsar, you’d find Leonardos Restaurant & Bar. Not constrained to a single cuisine, Leonardos runs by the simple concept of «if it taste good put it on the menu!».
We kicked start the evening with a simple single cheese platter accompanied with nuts, fruits & simple water crackers. I must say that I’m not the biggest fan of blue cheese; nonetheless this fellow had a more subtle whiff & taste. The portion was just nice & fairly priced.
We then tried the famous «Ranjit’s Pasta», which was packed with heavenly goodness; bacon bits, garlic, mushrooms & the silent killer, the birds eye chilli’s (aka cili padi). Unlike your average tomato based pasta or your rich creamy carbonara, this was a home based version of a simple pasta dish. The combination of these simple ingredients was just heavenly; I would definitely give it two thumbs up.
Last but not least, we ended the night with their version of the classic tiramisu.
Nothing much to rave about I would say. The mascarpone part of the dessert was rather dry with a very light taste of the coffee liqueur, with a thick coating of cocoa powder on top. You would want to careful with that first bite or you’d end up choking on the powder coating! I guess three strikes in a row were out of reach for Leornardos.

Brings so much memories because every time when I’m here, it’s always for a birthday party.
It’s located on the first and second floor and that walk up the stairs will give you this sense of luxurious as you reach the first floor. Staffs are always attentive and friendly in serviing you. They are all well versed and knowledgable in knowing what to recommend for your meal.
Pricing is of course in the upper class area. This place spells, prestigous, expensive, tasteful and romantic even. The selection food ranges from Western to Asian. Their starter scallops wrapped in bacon is the bomb. Food for sharing, do go for the pork knuckles. I had the grilled pork chorizo sausage and it is wonderful. Tried a couple of dessert choices here and none of them seems disappoint. They have a good selection of wine choices for you to pair with your food too!

I came to Leonardo’s for my birthday celebration as it was highly recommended by a friend. This non halal establishment is located at the rows of restaurant along Jalan Bangkung and street parking is available. Prices here are pretty steep as a main dish can easily set you back at RM40 but quality is assured as the Leonardo’s roast park I ordered was deliciously crispy yet tender on the meat.
This is almost like a fine dining restaurant as they did not serve tap water but you have the option of Aqua Panna or Pellegrino water. Portions are also not big so be prepared to pay a hefty amount if you intend to fill up your tummy. There’s a wide wine selection here and regular patrons often order a bottle of wine to go with their food. If the prices were lower, I may just return for that plate of roast pork.

Leonardo’s is a cosy restaurant on the first floor above Swanson. You can book the whole place for a party or a group dinner. However, the food there is non-​halal. They serve really delicious bak kut teh, which is just as good as the ones in Klang! Also, their Hokkien Mee is to die for with lots of pork lard to enhance the flavour. Above, Leornado’s, there’s a bar where you can play board games and chillax with friends.
