This place is ok – a little too hipster for my liking. It’s been very quiet every time I’ve been here, so it’s a pretty good place to get work done. The chairs aren’t very comfortable though. It’s cool because they seem to offer open art sessions, and also sell some art pieces from local artists. I’m not sure really sure when the open art sessions are, but I remember them being a bit pricey. The coffee is pretty good, as is the service. The food is a bit limited though, and nothing that I couldn’t make at home. All in all, this is somewhere I would come to if I was already in the area, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way to visit. It’s a pretty average coffee shop in KL, but has some cool vibes.

Yes, it’s upstairs located next to(kind of anyway, never mind you would have to go down one set of stairs and to climb another set of stairs) Baliayu spa. It’s also quiet the couple of times I’ve been here. Drinks are okay, but save some room for the dessert if anything catches your fancy, especially the tarts.

I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who wandered around downstairs before actually being able to locate this coffee place — as the latin term might give you some hint, this place has its very own style, and slightly hipster as well. For those who are struggling to find after two minutes standing outside of No.59 on this street, you got to look for the small painting of coffee, which is up the stairs beside this dentist. — You’re welcome. The space is usually quiet and the interior is mainly grey and woody. You might have noticed right after you enter the café — they have a lot of paintings in this small space. Apart from being a café, they sometimes have some art workshops going on too. You could check them out if you’re interested. Drinks wise, I actually quite liked their blend here for their coffee; while for tea they are using Gryphon’s tea here, so it’s pretty good too. Food wise, apart from what you see on the bar itself, they have a food menu too. So, there are more food that you can actually request for. Price wise, just expect the normal hipster café price range — which is actually pretty fair, that this café is in Bangsar. Do note that they close pretty early here — around 7, usually. So, this is not a coffee night-cap place.

Lorem ipsum for me is one of the best place to work and it seems like a good hideout place. Lol. It is not really easy to access especially if you dont have car, but that whats make this place so isolated and good to just chill and you wont expect massive crowds that can just ruin your quiet moment.(Unless maybe during their art jam, which is sometimes happening on certain time, but I never been to one before). Loving their simple interior as well with the sliding door to the mini balcony where you can sit, work and look to the outside street. Coffee here is good as well and do try out the homemade ice cream! The owner and employee here are the friendliest! Loving lorem ipsum to the max!

This café is a place to go when you want to express your thoughts through painting and a cup of coffee. I remembered when I was looking for the café, I could not find it because there was no sign board. So search for Klink Pergigian signboard and you’ll find it. It is located on the first floor. Parking is easy to find and it is free. I went there on a Saturday afternoon and it was surprisingly quite empty. The café has a minimalistic look and I love divider between the indoor and outdoor space. I was able to sit down comfortably to do my work while enjoying my cup of tea. I mention just now that you could paint at this café and it is called Art Jamming. This session is available daily except for Tuesday. They supply all the art tools;- canvas, easel, paint and brushes but of course with a price that I am not very sure of.

Lorem Ipsum is a mystery for all café hoppers out there because of its lack of prominent signboards, but man oh man, everyone should come here and take a look. While the ambience itself gives off a hipster-ish feel, the food is not, for its menu is atypical of any café out there, apart from the cheese of course. Their coffee, or more specifically their latte, tastes pretty decent, and there is nothing bad to talk about it. Did not try their food because I am not that hungry, but apparently it tastes good, so do try it if you’re there. That being said, finding out about this place is a pleasant surprise, and definitely the place to go if you are into coffee and hipster things, if you can even find the place, that is.

One can’t help to guess if this café was setup by an ex advertising professional, thanks to its name. Upon walking in you’re greeted by artsy vibes, colourful paintings and tasteful art décor. Much unlike so many cafes that try to be artsy, Lorem Ipsum is cool without even trying. I would actually pay for some of those paintings they have on display. Coffee is also good, while their food menu changes according to what’s available. I had the turkey ham and cheese toastie, which I did not expect to enjoy but ended thoroughly enjoying. Many cafes these days shortchange you when you order a sandwich. You get with cheap bread, lousy turkey ham, basic cheddar slices, and awful mayo that just ruins it. The turkey ham and cheese toastie here was a very pleasant surprise. There were two slices of what some would call artisanal bread(raisins, nuts, and sunflower seeds), decent turkey ham, a generous amount of mozarella cheese, and just enough peanut butter which was a nice touch. All in all a great place with a nice and quiet location.

I loved this place when I went there a while ago. Firstly I needed a place to study that wasn’t too noisy so a friend mentioned this café. Located along the Jalan Bangkung row of restaurants, Lorem Ipsum is hard to notice as they did not have a signboard when I went there. My favourite order would be for their Finespun ice creams which are served in little square plastic containers. It was RM9 for one container which was more than enough for one person. They are only closed on Tuesdays for now so feel free to pop over if you need some quiet ‘me’ time.
