I have eaten here several years ago and then just recently yesterday! They’ve been there since 1939 so that goes to show you that they are a decent restaurant. It’s a good place to sit down and have a meal. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food has always been delicious. Years ago I had abalone. It was the only place I could find it. Of course it is not on the menu anymore. Yesterday we started with the ceviche quatro(fish, shrimp, octopus and clams). It was served with the totopos. Really good and fresh. I had the camerones empanezado, yummilicious. The plate came with salad, mexican rice and 5 nice sized sumptuous breaded shrimp. I was tempted to get one of their whole fish but I wasn’t that hungry. I saw another lady had ordered the Vera Cruz and it was huge! It look good too. They have a seafood bar also if you just want a snack. Inside/Outside dining, clean and nice restrooms too. Definitely stop by and have a nice meal.

We have eaten here twice. The fish is very fresh, local where possible. The shrimp are from Sonora, the scallops from Bahia de Los Angeles. NOT treated with phosphates ;-). Tortillas are made with a hand press on the premises. The Garlic Scallops were cooked just right, just opaque and not rubbery, and with just enough seasoning to enhance, not smother. Same for the Halibut and the Garlic Shrimp. Coconut shrimp were good, maybe a little sweet. Very friendly staff. Outside seating can get noisy when the cruise ships are in town. Wine list features local Valle de Guadalupe wines, I recommend the Santo Thomas ST Cabernet and Chardonnay. Good Pina Coladas. Ample inside seating. Yes, more expensive than a food cart, but a nice break from deep fried fish tacos.

Decent seafood is made here. Nothing that stands out. It was a quiet day when we stopped in for a quick snack. Restaurant was clean. Service was friendly, and the food came out in good time. Doubt that I will ever return here again. Found a very very good food stand close by that makes better food and is cheaper!

First visited here over 30 years ago. All these years later it’s still great. The pescado frito con salsa veracruzana is a must while in Ensenada.

I had the clams baked in a half shell with queso it wasnt as good as the places near the bufadora. The clam chowder is ok… Nothing to die for but it was close to where we were staying.
