We were looking for a great«street food» place for tacos and our tour guide took us here. We had a large group(11 people) and got there after lunch just before they were closing, so they were out of one of their types of tacos… but the ones that they had were PERFECT!!! If you are in Tulum this is THE must eat at place in town!!! Not just for the food… but for the experience.

Awesome quick bite taco stand. Focus is pork preparations and carne asada. Doesn’t matter how crowded, you will be served fast. Very inexpensive.

Cochinita Pibil and Relleno Negro tacos with the locals for breakfast. There is better to be had in Yucatan, but for Tulum centro this is one of your better breakfast options. Maybe the best tortillas I’ve ever had.

My husband and I usually travel alone, but on our recent trip to Mexico, a friend accompanied us. When the inevitable, what do you want to eat conversation arose, she always said«Tacos, tacos, tacos!» So tacos it was. As we were sweaty and hangry from a morning spent at the Tulum ruins, I pulled up Unilocal to direct me to tacos. Taqueria Hororio was the best and closest spot, so we headed that way. Finding street parking was easy, and we got there just in time before it closed around 1:00PM.(We know it closed at 1:00PM because we were considering coming back for dinner, so my husband inquired.) When we arrived, all tables but one was full, so we snagged it. We were seated in the back where we could see staff slow-roasting and marinating the meats for the next day. Near the front, a lady was making corn tortillas by hand on the flat top, and a few cooks/waiters were floating around. The tacos de lechon were the biggest hit in our group. The pork is oven roasted and moist. Some tacos were topped with a crispy chicharron on top. My husband and friend declare that these Tulum tacos, as we call them, were the best meal they had on our entire trip. I also had jamaica agua which was sweet, floral and refreshing. I’m pretty sure my husband will make us drive to Tulum on our next visit to Mexico just for these tacos.

Lechon, chanchito and asado tacos are delicious. Less than a $ 1 per taco. They close early, so great breakfast joint!

My friends and I went to Honorio after it was recommended to us by a chef during our stay in Tulum. The place was a little hard to find, but we got directions from a few of the locals. The staff was very kind and patiently took us through the menu. We ordered tacos + tortas and everything was amazing. I’ve never had pork so tender and flavorful. We visited here the following morning before our flight so we could enjoy Honorio’s one last time.

Tacos cochinita pibil! Absolutely delicious. This place was recommended by several locals and is in the pueblo of Tulum off highway 307. Get there before noon! They close early.

Best lechon tacos in Tulum. Small, obviously traditional as it gets when you come to Mexico. We loved this place. Filled with friendly locals who were more than happy to serve the Yanks lol.

This place is awesome and serves amazing tortas and tacos. We had the Cochinita Pibil(torta) and Lechón(torta). Both were so good that we stopped by twice in one day. We found this place when our Cenote guide’s driver wanted to stop here and pick up some Cochinita before we got to the Cenote. He was nice enough to bring us back a torta to split… and we were hooked. We liked it so much, we asked them to stop there after our first dive to eat lunch. The place is busy with locals. The food comes from a food truck/grill parked on the street, and you can either get food to go or sit at one of the tables in the dining area. They make their own bread and it is hot, crispy, but soft inside. The pork is moist and delicious. We tried two sauces… a verde sauce that was mild but great on the cochinita, and a hot habañero sauce that had great flavor. I was told by the locals that the Relleno Negro is really good too, but I didn’t get a chance to try it. I definitely recommend stopping in here if you are in the Tulum area — make sure to try some of these Yucatan specialities!

Again, found this place by sheer luck — or as I call it — peddling around downtown Tulum on rental bikes with no real brakes; you have to pedal in the reverse direction for the bike to start halting! So at around 10:30am local time, we found this place jam packed — with clearly local amigos. With a quick glance — we knew the menu looked awesome just as much did the grill on the mobile truck right on the street. The main dining space has about 10 tables with 4 chairs apiece. We decided to come back around 12 ish. Lucky for us — the place was empty and to our surprise, ready to shut down for the afternoon siesta. The kind waitress at the counter said she would definitely take our order. We wasted no time. 3 taco combo with Crystal orange drink — at 52 pesos for each of us. What a super fantastic lunch. With every bite of taco I wolf down here in the Yucatan state — it keeps reminding me — this is the real taco heaven! And torta heaven. And everything in between. The staff here is extremely hardworking as much as friendly. It is beyond words to describe. I hope anyone who visits downtown Tulum gets the taste of some down to earth flavors that you can find only at these amazing food trucks. Simply outstanding.
