Hostel Leidseplein

They do not clean the room.
My sheets had period stains on them.
The bathroom is not clean.
I don’t think they even disinfect the rooms.
I wish they had hand soap in the bathroom like other hostels i have been to. Out of the 3 men over the 4 days I stood, 1 guy was nice. The other two were rude for no reason.
(+) They do have quality wifi, can even get the service from your room. Outlets near the bunks. The location is good, walked everywhere from the square and easy to get to.

After pushing aside hoards of drunk tourists to reach the door of this hostel, the following will probably happen:
1) You will press a buzzer and someone up a flight of stairs will, sighing, open the door for you.
2) As you approach the front desk, the staff will treat you with the same attitude you bring to a fist fight. I wouldn’t recommend punching them right away, but I honestly couldn’t blame anyone.
3) You will pay for your stay in cash – up front –and will understand why once you climb more flights of obnoxiously steep stairs to set down your things in your room. You will lay down on beds I honestly believe they scavenge from prison dumpsters.
4) After bearing the night listening to pounding club music from the tourist magnets downstairs, a group of drunk American teenagers will vomit outside your room and, unable to gain entry into their (read: your) room even after pounding on the door, one of the teens will slip in his own vomit and loudly proclaim his decision to piss on the floor.
5) Two drunk girls will enter and browse their phones on full brightness for about 30 minutes, making the room already shaking with terrible club music even more uncomfortable. One girl will drop something and argue with the other one for about 5 minutes about who should retrieve it. Once one caves and gets down on her knees on the floor, the other will whisper «he’s looking at you», referring to you, awoken by their idiocy and deciding to check a few emails.
6) Around 10am in the morning a member of the gestapo police will open the door, letting in the stench of vomit and urine from 8 hours ago. He will wake you up if necessary and demand your name. He will then tell you your name is wrong, and retract his statement 10 seconds later saying «ok ok», and then again demand your horribly misspelled name is wrong, all before admitting he doesn’t speak English.
7) You will again question why you ever agreed to pay cash up front.
All this is true and shockingly without exaggeration. It’s a shame rating this place requires granting it one star. If you’re desperate for cheap accommodations, I would recommend committing a petty crime and spending a few days in prison instead.

The staff needs to take a basic course in customer service. One of them was so incompetent at his job it made us break pokerface. Breakfast was just white bread and peanut butter. The hostel smells like shit and it’s impossible to sleep at night because downstairs there is a disco club that plays music. Location is good and so was the wifi. You should probably spend your nights somewhere else.

The only reason this place isn’t getting one star is because they provided breakfast. This was by far the worst hostel I had stayed the entire trip. First of all, you need a key to enter which means me and friend were stuck waiting with our luggage for an hour or two while the owner was away. They have a curfew on their premises at night, which is understandable, but the worker was incredibly rude about it. Definitely do not recommend this hostel.

Sehr einfaches Hostel das definitiv schon bessere Zeiten gesehen hat. Hier wurde lange nichts gemacht. Die Farbe blättert von den Wänden, die Treppen quietschen, das Geländer wackelt, die Teppiche sind abgelaufen, die Schränke fallen auseinander, die Matratzen hängen durch, viele Glühlampen fehlen, das Bad ist voller Kalk. Alles ist verstaubt und schlecht geputzt. Der Blick in den vermüllten Hinterhof wird von vergilbten Gardinen abgemildert.
Das Personal war freundlich. Das Frühstück bestand aus Toast und Marmelade. Obwohl die Lage mitten im belebten Viertel sehr gut ist muss man sagen das wir nachts sehr gut und ruhig schlafen konnten.
Billighotel das dringend renovierungsbedürftig ist. Zum schlafen reicht es!

Es kam wie es kommen musste. Da bucht man auf dem letzten Drücker ein Hotel in Amsterdam und landet natürlich in einer wahren Absteige. Wer den Zustand von englischen Hotels der untersten Preisklasse kennt, der weiß was ihn hier erwartet. Kaputte Decken und Möbel. Fleckiger Teppich und nur dürftig geputztes Badezimmer. Lampen sind oft defekt und auch ansonsten darf man keinen Anspruch haben. Immerhin einen Fernseher gab es, der sogar funktionierte. Das Hotel selber liegt direkt am Leidseplein, welche als Kiez eine sehr belebte Ecke mit Bars, Diskotheken und Restaurants ist. Für Nachtschwärmer also ideal. Wir hatten immerhin den Vorteil, dass wir über eine amerikanische Buchungsseite für zwei Personen einen guten Kurs von durchschnittlich 45 Euro pro Tag bezahlt haben. Über deutsche Buchungsseiten kann man fast das Doppelte rechnen, was sein Geld auf keinen Fall wert ist. Frühstück kostet 5 Euro extra und besteht lediglich aus Toast und Marmelade sowie Discount-​Aufschnitt. Komischerweise hatten wir für zwei Personen ein 4 Personenzimmer mit unschöner Aussicht auf den Innenhof. Dafür hatten wir aber keine Lärmbelästigung. Nicht verschweigen sollte man, dass wir trotz aller Defizite sehr freundlich behandelt wurden. Internet war auch frei. Leider kein WLAN. Fazit: Wer was zum Übernachten braucht und keine Ansprüche hat, der erhält eine günstige Bleibe. Ansonsten lieber nicht buchen.
