Wok ‘n’ Noodle is a popular local lunch spot near my work you can order ahead online or just turn up — dine in or takeaway. It’s Korean owned but the menu covers a wide range of Asian cuisines with curries, noodles, stir fries and rice dishes. I’m a fan of the Caveman menu items with dishes high on vegetables, some meat and carb free, sugar free and oil free. It’s nothing flash inside but it’s clean, there’s an outdoors too on a nice day and the service is run to precision. You can have a wine or beer with your meal. Prices are good and the portions generous! Give it a try.

This is the fastest, freshest, tastiest and best value for money food you will find in the CBD. I think the Shortland St store has student specials, which is a massive bonus, and All the staff are super energetic and lovely. Still going strong at 9.30pm shows that the customers just keep coming back for food time and time again. I’ll definitely be back in the near future. I used to frequent this place a couple of years ago with my boyfriend at the time. Then when when we broke up, I just stopped coming here. Well tonight I realised that was a massive mistake(much like the ex ;P). I highly recommend that everyone comes here. Especially with their witty ads, not to mention that their takeaway boxes have the owners face plastered on them and he looks like he’s the happiest guy in the world. :D Kudos to these guys.

My wife had a craving for some noodles and so we looked at the restaurants in the area. I was glad we decided to spent a little more than at the food court on K Road and head up to Wok ‘n Noodle for take away. Ordered online — super easy, ready when we picked up, friendly service. We got a great portion size for the price($ 15 – 20 per main) made with fresh ingredients. She has the Cashew Chicken and I had the Grilled Teriyaki Chicken. Next time I think I will give the Spicy Chilli option a try as the Grilled Teriyaki Chicken has no real kick to it — had we dined in I would have asked for a bit more Teriyaki sauce on the chicken as the rice soaked any juice up. My wife enjoyed her meal, enough left over for lunch tomorrow.

I have been going here for years. I used to work in Mt Eden and developed an obsession(that still exists) with their nasi goreng. I was insanely happy when they opened up a branch on Shortland Street, directly opposite my work. Lee is lovely — after not seeing him for approximately 2 years, the minute I walked into the Shortland Street branch, he yells out in that booming voice«Vanessa! Long time, no see!» He always shakes my hand every time I’m in there, and knows my order off by heart(though it’s not difficult, it’s always chicken nasi goreng) I love it here — they’re always fast, except maybe on a Friday around 1pm — and I will keep coming back. If I’ve had an awful day at work, it’s absolute comfort food. And you can order online! Perfect. Tip: portion sizes are huge — you don’t need that entrée. I’ve only given 4 stars because it’s been a VERY long time since I’ve ordered anything other than the nasi goreng. But I would give that 5 stars.

HELLOTHISISAALEEFROMWOKANODDLEHOWCAN I HELPYOU! Before i call wok n noodle I always put the volume on my phone down, for all those that know Lee you will know why. I got hooked onto wok n noodle, when I used to work in the Mt Eden area. It was the most decent place in the area and they served huge portions for an amazing price. My favourite was the cashew chicken with rice, oh my even thinking about it makes me drool. The veges were fresh, I did not mind chowing down the carrots and capsicum. I ended up going there every time I worked to get some cashew chicken, which I would have for lunch and dinner. There was so much you could have two meals in one. Plus for $ 14 it was worth it.

I revisited this restaurant again recently after first visiting a couple of years ago. I did not particularly enjoy it the first time, with the Asian Fusion style of food just seeming like a contagious trend at the time. Upon my second visit recently, I went for my rekindled fondness of duck. This paid off and I had a really delicious meal. I will definitely make Wok N Noodle a priority to return to again in the near future. The meal was served very fast, although it was still very fresh. We ordered another meal to takeaway halfway through dining out and this was done right on time to take home when we were finished. The only slight downfall of this place are the ads on George FM, although Lee is extremely friendly and hospitable in person — a testament to the rest of his business.

We have been frequenting Wok n Noodle on and off for several years now. It’s relatively close to home, well priced and easy. The owner, Lee, is incredibly friendly and always remembers my order and asks me about work. The food comes out quickly, is fresh and very much ‘fusion’. I usually get the prawn and calamari udon or the crispy fish on rice. I’ve only ever had one thing I didn’t like, and that was the mee goreng. I don’t usually dine in, but I can vouch for the food to go. One of the best Asian takeouts in Auckland.

Lee Chang Woo is a superstar. Or he should be. I love that he describes his business as «Auckland’s Number 1 Asian Restaurant». I love his enthusiasm and I love his food. He’s a perfect example of good things coming not to those who wait but to those who work hard and engender goodwill through the desire to simply be better. Wok’n’Noodle is in Normanby Road, just down from Bodytech Gym and this has obviously influenced the menu in that you can get brown rice instead of white rice and lighter carb options. How great is that? Listening to what your customers want; what a novel idea. This place is basically an extremely well done Asian food café that covers most of the Asia food genres excluding the sub-continent. There’s soups, sides and even a salad along with the classic favourites. You can choose from Nasi Goreng, Yakisoba, Pad Thai, Sweet’n’Sour Pork and much more. Best of all, they will make anything meat-free and if you want to be really complicated(like me), you can swap your egg noddles for rice noodles or ditch the noodles altogether and get rice instead. The wine list is small but carefully chosen and kids are made to feel very welcome which we appreciate. Lee is a restaurant performance artist and you just gotta love him. And the food — this place DOES deserve to become a chain. But sadly, there’s only one Lee.

Wok n Noodle is one of my favourite places of all time to eat. Such a great menu and at such a great price! Offering every kind of Asian meal you could want, from noodle to rice dishes, curries to soups, you can’t go wrong with anything off the Wok n Noodle menu! I have frequented the Normanby Road restaurant more times than I can count and have never been let down by the meals, nor the service. After trying most things on the menu, I have found my favourite dish to be the Rama Rung Song. For only $ 14 you get jasmine rice served with pork, chicken or beef and a variety of stir fried veges including carrot, broccoli, pumpkin and capsicum, all topped with a delicious satay sauce. The portion sizes are pretty big, so make sure you’re hungry because you’ll definitely be getting your money’s worth at Wok n Noodle! Although quite small inside, especially when it’s packed with people waiting on their takeaways a nice outdoor area is available. Sitting in the sun enjoying the great food with a cold wine is definitely a nice way to spend the evening. Bonus: The owner, Lee Chang Woo is fantastic. No matter how rushed off their feet he and his staff are, he always manages to great every single customer and serve them with a smile.
