This restaurant is a great small family business. The food, service & atmosphere are top notch. I’ll definitely recommend it to friends & family.

Traditionnal portuguese restaurent. To start you can take the amazing melted cheese or a mix of 5 homemade and delicious hot«croquettes»(3 of meat: one beef and 2 pigs, one shrimp, one bacalao, my favorite !). Then we had a fresh white fish and one big dish of grilled squids, wonderful. Instead of french fries, I asked for salad and vegetables. they were ok, the people working here are really nice and smily. It’s a family and you’ll feel like hope. You won’t wait that much even if it’s full of people. We had portugese beers to drink but they also have wine. In dessert, they have many homemade cakes if you wanna try it. We couldn’t eat more because it’s very generous. They offered a shot of porto at the end, very very nice place ! And not expensive at all for the great quality. You must try this place and have some fresh fish. It’s quite crowded at night, come early !

A delicious feast at very affordable prices! Went here with the wife while on vacation, and we were really impressed with this authentic Portuguese restaurant, which happened to be packed with locals. The portions were abundant… The food was fresh and tasted excellent… The staff was very friendly and helped us understand the menu… The list could go on and on, about what made our dining experience one to remember. Really can’t say enough about this place. Some details… I ordered the Portuguese swordfish and vegetable soup, while my wife ordered steak. I am typically skeptical about seafood at a new establishment, but the plate delivered well beyond my expectations. I’ve never tasted swordfish that good. If I had the opportunity, I would order my same meal again without a second thought. The wife was reasonably satisfied with her steak, though somewhat envious of my food throughout the meal. We ended dinner with dessert, a chocolate cake from the vast selection of confectionery delights in the glass case. It made for a fine ending of a fine meal. Next time I’m in Lisbon I hope to visit this restaurant again, and maybe you will too!

Came here our first night in Lisbon and it was a nice intro to Portuguese food there. It really set the bar for what to expect during our stay here. This by no means is a high end restaurant, but the service was great, prices were decent and the food quality was pretty good. Really liked the grilled swordfish.

Wow!!! This food is so fresh. So delicious! This is authentic Portuguese food. This food is very simple but very fresh. Parsley! Garlic! Onions! boiled cod! Simple flavors but so tasty The family was helpful to my mom and I. We walked in and an older gentleman welcomed us. We were very lost on what to order. A younger gentleman came over and explained the menu to us in English and directed us to the appropriate items to order for a traditional Portuguese lunch.

Nice but a touch mediocre. There’s really nothing else to say. I could have made that meal myself.

Komme immer wieder gerne!

Native North Portuguese fish restaurant run by a tight little family whose biz is to feed you well. Only lighting could use some work, but you will forget the gas station bulbs after taking the first bite.

Wonderful fish restaurant with only the freshest fish which they show you before they cook it. My wife had sword fish and I had dorada, both of which were well prepared. The fish was accompanied by a tasty salad and whole potatoes. The deserts were well prepared and our server brought us complimentary cups of white Port. Our server and the rest of the staff were friendly and enthusiastic. They easily bridged the gap we sometimes feel as tourists in Portugal. We plan to dine here again. It was on of the great meals of our life.

Worth the Climb When you visit a restaurant in a new country they can serve you anything, call it «authentic local cuisine» and you’re none the wiser. ‘Stale’ bread and fish paste, fit for the cat, are part of your«authentic» accompaniment and both are rank rotten, but… If you don’t touch your accompaniment then you don’t pay for it and you only pay for the amount of house wine you consume from the bottle(s). The fresh grilled Rock Bass(€ 12) and The Veal(€ 8.50) were fantastic and the, bend-over backwards, helpful service was more than we could hope for. Free port and a crackin’ relaxing atmosphere helped us sink into our chairs, we were staying put!

Family run, great fresh sea food at reasonable prices. My husband had squid and was extremely happy. I’m not much of a seafood person so had the pork tenderloin. It was juicy and very tasty. The house wine was great and the desserts to die for. There were so many we didn’t know what to order. My husband jokingly said he wanted to try them all, and we were served a «pijama»: six different pie slices!(for 6euros). They were spectacular! Home made by the Mom. My favorite was the coconut, with pumpkin and cheesecake a close second. They even gifted us with glasses of Porto wine with desert. We will go back soon!

Favorite restaurant in Lisbon featuring fresh, delicious seafood and generous portions. Loved the grilled squid. Best part of the dining experience was the friendly service. Our waiter offered us several glasses of muscatel on the house. Be sure to add this to your«must visit’ list when in Lisbon.

My husband and I visited this restaurant during a trip to Lisbon. I had the grilled sole fish(linguado). Hands down the best fish I have ever tried. The fish came grilled with side potatoes and salad. I also had the soupf of the day and fresh sliced orange. Dont let the outside fool you. This restaurant was packed with locals(matter of fact we were the only tourist) we came during lunch and the restaurant was filled with people on their lunch break everybody wearing suits and work clothes. I will bookmark this place and definetely will visit again next time I am in Lisbon. The only minus is that they dont take visa… However the food makes up for that.
