Hotel Talisman is a unique little hotel in the middle of downtown porta delgada. It’s towards the south side of downtown and a 10 minute drive from the airport. The floor layout is non-standard and certain parts of floors are not connected so you can’t reach them unless you take particular sets of stairs or elevators. We took one of the elevator banks in the front of the hotel and found ourselves unable to actually move towards the back where our room was. The rooms are clean and they contain two twin beds that can be pushed together. This gives the joint bed the size of queen/king bed however, said beds are not secured so they can drift apart throughout the night, beware the gap. The fiancée almost rolled into the crevice that formed. There is wifi throughout hotel. It’s serviceable but not that fast. The breakfast is decent in the mornings. Fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee, fresh made waffles, and other normals. Dinner was not so good and expensive for what it was. Best of all though is its location. It’s in easy walking distance to many other areas and attractions.
