Carlos Jeep Rental

Arranged rental prior to arrival. 1:30pm Arrival went smooth. Cart started to sputter and cut out on way back from dinner so immediately worried about getting stuck half way home on dark road after less then hour of drive time. Next moring died on bottom of driveway. Called and told ferry arrived so not sure how long it will be. After thirty minutes stranded we were getting taxi and going to return keys and rent from jerry’s. They showed up after an hour and made it right with a reliable replacement.

I decided to rent a golf cart to get around the island instead of using the taxi’s the entire time. They even came and me picked up from Flamenco Beach and dropped me off back at the campgrounds when i returned the cart.

These guys are quick and efficient. Friendly staff and always welcome you with smile which is a deal breaker for me. There is one girl who is very nice and talkative. I enjoyed culebra and will always rent with them when ever I visit this little charming island.

I WILL ALWAYS RENT HERE! Best place on the island. Excellent service, friendly and easy going staff. My girlfriends and I were on vacation this past week and decided to take a day trip to culebras. We decided to rent a jeep while on the ferry– best decision ever. We were able to drive to Zoni beach– which is more private and calmer setting. There are no bars or food stands so I would recommend to pick up a six pack and some sandwiches before heading there. Then we decided to Goldman some food in the way to the popular beach. Having the jeep made everything easier. It was $ 45.00 total. They gave you free beach seats and a cooler (if you ask for it). There are taxis but it would have been just about the same in costs and aggravating. Good luck. Thanks Carlos for your services!!!

Be careful when you give this people your credit card! They used my credit card to charge us with extra days we didn’t use.

Great experience with Carlos Jeep Rental yesterday. We sailed over from St. Thomas and wanted to see the island and hit Flamenco Beach. One phone call, a quick shuttle pickup and we were in our clean zippy golf cart. The friendly lady at the desk got us in and out briskly as well gave us some tips for offseason restaurants that were open. At the end of the day they dropped us off in their shuttle. I tapped out and left my dry bag on the shuttle seat and the driver popped right back with it. Good thing, my boat keys were in that bag! I think we may have to use them again tomorrow.

We meet one of the rep on the ferry to Culebra. I would highly recomment people who visit Culebra to rent a jeep instead of joining a tour, the island is only 8 Miles wide and very small, you don’t need to join a tour. Strike out the beaches and check out all the hidden spots, this island is amazing. The staff in Carlos are super nice, we originally rent the golf car, but it turns out to be too slow and bumpy for us, so we returned it and exchanged to a jeep with out any hassle (Jeep is only $ 10 more– $ 45 for a day). When we returned the jeep around 6:30pm, we found out the gas station closed at 6pm so we missed the time, we told the staff and they did not charge us extra for not filling up the gas. The staff told us Carlos is a wonderful boss, who treated them on team building excursion to a zipline trip in El Yunque, and he took all the female employees out on Mother’s day, i thought this is a really successful local business in PR. it made our one day trip in Culebra very memorable. Must rent with Carlos Jeep. A must to do at Culebra, PR. Excellent customer service from staff, professional and efficient. Friendly family business from the Culebra itself. They were able to provide insights about the island that made our trip extremely enjoyable. Proud to be rocking a service provided by the local people of Culebra… as well COOL to be part of the trend there and seeing all their golf carts, jeeps of all colors and models, and vans roaming the island. They are extremely helpful, we left souvenirs behind and they kindly arranged with the airline company for us to receive on the next available flight. I highly recommend this company and experience. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!

We made our reservations online after reading some horrible reviews. They picked us up at the ferry dock and drove us to their main rental facility. After a small wait they gave us a brand new jeep with only 1000 miles on it that still smelled new. Word of advice as with any car rental, fill up before you return the car or they’ll make some $$$ off ya!

I rented a 4×4 vehicle from this company, I drove it around an island that is covered in mud, water, and sand. So, imagine my surprise when I was rudely berated and shaken down for an extra $ 50, (and told I was lucky it wasn’t $ 150) because my vehicle had mud and sand on the exterior. When does a 4×4 rental company charge for mud and sand on the exterior of the vehicle? Just call it an idiot tourist tax and leave it at that. (keep lobbying to have Unilocal remove this, Carlos Jeep Rental, and I will keep posting, btw.)

There is no rules of the service. Someone told us they could give a discount $ 39.9 for 24 hours in order to let us rent the golf cart. But when we go back and rent the golf cart another one told us they did not know and when the sales people come back she said she did not say that. And we wait a quite a long time 30′ to wait for their pickup to get the cart. Another very terrible thing is when it is raining you will get wet and cold. Some road need you to drive the Jeep. The last thing is the golf cart is very slow and not so safe. My indication is to change the company and rent Jeep.

They picked us up at the Ferry and were super quick and efficient throughout our check-​in. We rented a 4 door Jeep for a day and a half (yes they have that option!). It was extremely clean and taken care of. Check out was super easy and quick. They took us back to the ferry with enough time to grab an ice cream before boarding. But this is were they earned their 5 stars with me. Once in the ferry with less than 15 minutes to depart, we noticed we had left a solar charger in the car. We called them to explain. They found it and they brought it to us within 12 minutes… just in time for the ferry to depart. To me, thats world class service! Thank you!!!

Rented a 6 person golf card for $ 50.00. We got on the shuttle at the ferry terminal and they brought us to their location. We were in and out of the office in a short time and on our way.
Staff was efficient & friendly.
BIG DRAWBACK. They told us that the jeep had to be returned with gas at the level it left with. It took us 30 mins to get to the gas station, get the $ 2 worth of gas and back to the location (it was super annoying bc there was such a traffic jam in the center — sitting in a golf cart breathing in all the smog. Then upon returning it they didn’t even check the gas level.
There were a couple other rental centers on the island.

We rented two Jeeps at Carlos this past Friday for the weekend. Initially, we rented a two-​door Jeep and a four-​door Jeep. The smaller Jeep had a flat spare tire, the passenger seat belt did not function (it was frozen in place) so the seat belt warning indicator beeped at us constantly for a day, and the check engine light was on. Plus, we were kind of cramped in the Jeep. So I went back to Carlos Jeep Rental Saturday morning and informed them of the issues with the Jeep. They were quick to get me a new and bigger Jeep! This time, I received a four-​door, red, 2015 Jeep with only 300 miles on it! Woot!
These Jeeps were fun to drive and you’ll need them to get to some of the remote beaches on the island. There are several dirt roads that will challenge the Jeep in 4-​wheel drive, which was so fun.
Besides Flamenco Beach, renting these Jeeps was the most fun I had this weekend in Culebra. The staff was very friendly and the courtesy bus to and from the ferry was terrific.

Easy, friendly. Young fellow was working the line on the Fajardo side and hooked us up wuth a mule/​gulf cart. Would do it agan.

Please know that this is not the only rental place in town. There are 3 others! All have the same rentals. And all of them are better than carlos. Rented a golf cart that had a broken ignition. When the key fell out while driving and got lost (which would not have happened if the ignition worked properly) they charged an extra $ 30. Also, the gas meter did not work right so when I returned the cart, surprise surprise, they charge another $ 5. All of this would not have been a big deal if their customer service was not so terrible. I was treated like an idiot for not knowing that the key slips out easily (something that it should not do). All they could tell me was that «business is business». If I were you, I would take my business elsewhere.

We just returned from a month long stay in Culebra. The roads in Culebra are very narrow and Carlos Jeeps are just too big for the narrow roads. From what I witnessed
if you have a large Carlos Jeep then you are king of the road.
This was our second visit and we used Jerry’s Rentals both times.
Jerry has always been very helpful and he has smaller SUV’s (Jeeps) at a more reasonable rate.

We had to call them about 8 times to get a definite answer whether they have anything available for rent (golf carts or jeeps). The woman at the front desk was completely rude, could care less about who is the customer and who is the one serving the customer. We asked her to give us a call if something comes up and she said, «We don’t call, you keep calling to check.» However, we had a very nice young gentlemen give us a lift to the ferry (who made the experience a bit better).

Carlos Jeep Rental courtesy bus will pick up drivers from ferry station and hotels as needed. When the van is getting full, the courtesy van driver will only allow one person, the designated driver, to get in the van leaving all others behind. There has been discussions with the driver to allow more people in and he, eventually cave in for a party of three but did not allow me to get in the van. My partner had to come and pick me up at the hotel later.
The 4-​door jeep costs $ 78 per 24 hours plus tax and fees which is the only one they had when we arrived. The jeep was clean and very new. Good performance on the road. Staff is friendly and nice. You can also rent scooters or some ‘golf-​cart’ looking buggies to move around town. The car was given to us with only ¼ of a gas tank. We returned it ½ tank full. They gave us a one hour reduction on our rental for returning it with more gas than given.
Courtesy van took us back into town (luckily I was allowed to get in this time!) and spent the last few hours having a drink and food before getting back on the ferry.
NOTE ON GETTING GAS: There are only two gas stations in town. One by the ferry docks and the other one by Colmado Milka. If you are going to use the gas station at the docks, ensure to go there when ferries are not either arriving or departing. Otherwise you will be stuck between taxis and cars for a very long period of time in this dead end, one lane-​two way street. I recommend using the one by Colmado Milka (Dakiti Gas Station) as it is off the beaten path. Give yourself plenty of time to get gas as each one has only one pump and a line forms sometimes.
