Blackened tofu. Homemade salsas. Strong drinks. Great ambiance. Fun live music. What more to like?

Loved this place! Charming Caribbean character. Food was excellent. Tried several different tacos from the menu. The fish tacos were the best! Planned to go back the next day just to get more of the fish tacos, but vacation timing got in the way. Highly recommended if you’re lucky enough to go to Culebra island.

Tacos weren’t amazing, had a Carne Asada & a battered fish taco, couldn’t eat the Carne Asada. Possibly I miss ordered, the dinner special was an aged steak, looked amazing, however, they ran out. They have beer on tap, including an IPA, and many others to choose from. 4 of us sat at the bar for dinner, was an hour wait for a table. Sweet outside spot. Steve was our server/bartender, great fella & was great service I just can’t give anymore stars, I wasn’t impressed with the tacos & I love tacos! For the place, service, & Steve would be 5 stars, for the food 3 stars, this is how I ended up with 4 stars!

Tacos were outstanding. Great local place. Green salad hit the spot after a day at the beach. If tacos are up your alley, don’t pass this one up.

TOURISTTRAPYUK! This place is a gringo dreamland for alcohol, don’t expect actual good Mexican food. if you want to check out drunken americans that barely travel anywhere & expensive drinks this is the place to go, but if you’re expecting to actually eat some delicious Mexican you will be very disappointed. Service is worse than terrible, they include the 15% tipping & drinks are completely overpriced.

Its fun to eat on patio or near the bar with the baby chickens walking around. If you are just coming for a drink this spot is ideal. Be warned the ‘mexican food’ is terrible… flour tortilla and kraft cheese, also the tip is automatically included.

I LOVED this place. I was in Culebra for 2 nights and 2.5 days and I came here 3 separate times and brought some people I had met at flamenco beach to zacos for a good meal and night out. Great selection of tacos. I had the carne asada, pork belly, seared tuna, and beer battered fish as well as a carne asada burrito. My favourites were the beer battered fish and the pork belly(not to say the seared tuna and carne asada were bad at all but the first two were next level) All of the proteins were so delicious and had appropriate condiments on each of them. The salsa ranged from mild to hot and all had a great kick to them. Was super pleasantly surprised to find this place in Culebra. I wish I had as convenient mexican food in Melbourne, Australia

What a cute little place! You definitely don’t expect to find such a nice area in the back of the house. Great customer service and the most amazing fish tacos I’ve ever had. I was not a big fan of the nachos but the fish tacos are amazing. Margaritas were great too and a very nice atmosphere.

Alright… First let’s start with location: location– location-location: downtown… Culebra… Puerto Rico… Already winning. 1 star for the location. Next up, ambiance: Of all the restaraunt on the island, this one takes the gold medal. If you want to feel transported(as if you need to go anywhere). This is your spot. Ok, 1 star for the ambiance. Next up, the bar. HANDSDOWN the best liquor selection in Culebra. Never thought I’d see the day I’d be able to get a decent tequila, let alone MEZCAL on this little virgin isle, but that day has come. Ok, 1 star for da booze. What is that, 3 stars so far? Ok good I thought so.(Sorry the mezcal made me loose count.) Ok next up, the food… Wholly crap… I’m outside of the mainland North America and someone actually got Mexican right. You would think that anything with beans, meat, tortillas and cheese would be hard to f**k up but you’d be surprised… This fact alone deserves a Michelin friggin star. But I don’t have a Michelin star, I have a Unilocal star… so that’s what I’ll give them. 1 star for authentic Mexican on a Caribbean island. Lastly… the service: the place is packed to the gills with hungry gringos and everyone working there looked liked they were having the best time of their life. Friendly, warm, and accommodating… I want to party with these people. 1 more star to round it out to a perfect 5. Everything is good. So try everything. Or just come back tomorrow for more. Oralé guey.

It’s better than other options in town. Place was hopping, grab a drink while you wait. They have beer on tap and strong cocktails. The pork tacos were great, other tacos were average. They have 3 different sauces which caters to all spice levels.

Ordered pork belly taco, tuna taco, carnitas tacos, and regular nachos. Wow those pork belly tacos, I actually closed my eyes when I ate them. That’s how good they were. Other stuff was okay, but the 5 stars are completely due to the pork belly taco.

I did not expect Mexican food this good in a small, unassuming place in Culebra on a random Thursday night. There’s not much to choose from in the offseason at 9pm in Culebra, but this place was a home run. We shared some chips and salsa(the salsa and hot sauces were amazing), and everyone’s food was great. It’s a little pricy, but that’s to be expected, and the food was definitely worth it. Great margaritas as well, and the owner came by to check on us and make sure our meal was enjoyable. The seating area out back also had a great ambiance… my only complaint if I had to have one I guess would be that the circulation isn’t so great out back, and it was a bit stifling at times… but it’s the Caribbean, what are ya gonna do? Great food here.

We went to this place by recommendations from Unilocal and our guest house owner… so we give a try and… we ate every single day during our Vacations in the island !!! Incredible great food, excellent friendly and fast service, great ambience… the best you can find in Culebra !!! We loved the Regular Nachos with Carne Asada(WoW) !!! The BIG pork Burritos and the carne asada Quesadillas are awesome !!! But the top of all are the beer battered fish tacos !!! Sooooo delicious !!! We are hoping to come back soon just to eat here again !!!

I wanted to update my review on this place to negative stars. The owner dared to send me a message calling me a «D##k» because i said that i did not like the agreement that all these restaurants have to drive the customers to each other in different days a week and offer poor customer service, bad food and high prices. THISISWORSETHAN A MAFIA. No fair market competition means poor quality on everything. I wish they understood that but oh well. I will be bringing my own food to Culebra.

We tried 6 types of tacos(they did not serve it with salsa). They were so-so. My expectations with the hype in Unilocal were not met. Service was also so-so. What made it decent was their yummy desert. We ordered the almond cheesecake.

Sublime ambiance and killer tacos. If you are in Culebra you have to eat here for lunch or dinner. Fish tacos don’t get any better than they do here. Perfect place to relax over good food and drinks with friends. An oasis in paradise.

I am from San Diego, so I put my expectation very high every time when I visited a taco shop! Zaco’s Tacos hit my expectation! I love their pork belly taco!!! It’s very juicy and tasty! You will enjoy their taco a lot! However, I am not fully satisfied with their burrito!!!

Amazing tacos and Amazing atmosphere! Zaco’s tacos is hands down one of the best taco places I’ve ever tried! Their tacos are very flavorful I recomment porkbelly taco and beer battered fish taco! so flavorful and delish The portion is quite small, but it you order 2 – 3 you would get pretty full!

Super tasty tacos! Not exactly«authentic» Mexican but delicious anyway. The tacos are fairly large but I was starving so I ordered 3 different ones(my fave by far being the fish taco with beer battered Grouper). Then I was still hungry so I ordered another fish taco. Then the next day after dinner I went back for another one as a snack. They were that good! Service is Caribbean style(meaning slow) so we opted to sit at the bar where we could easily get the server’s attention vs. the back patio area(although it looked nice back there). They stop serving at 8pm which to me is extremely early but not for Culebra I guess. If I were to go back to Culebra for vacation I’d probably just eat here every night.
