I came here 2 or 3 times before and the last time I went was terrible service. We waited for an hour for our plate. Three tables got served before us, and all of them were here AFTERUS. Not any drink refills, not any word on when our our food was coming. Not even sure if our order was even placed. The second we told our waiter that we are leaving, the food was magically ready! Within 10 seconds! Keep in mind 3TABLES got served prior to us. And all of them were here after us.

This place is horrible! I took a while to order so I understand my food would take a while, but I ordered well before all of the people that got their food before me, even entered the establishment. The food wasn’t even that great to wait 45 minutes for a simple order of chicken fingers and nachos. The server had time to get his phone charger to charge his phone, but didn’t have time to ask us once if we needed more water the entire hour and a half we were there.

This place was pretty cool. The bartender was so friendly and talked to us for a while about PR and about hisself and family! The tacos are CHEAP! 1.75 $-2.50 $ per taco so we just ordered one of each. 1 shredded beef, 1 shredded chicken, 1 shredded pork &1 fried fish. The fried fish taco was definitely my favorite We also had chips and salsa. Did not really like those I feel like the salsa was more of a creamy marinara. Was not like salsa. They have cheap buckets of beer also!!! And cheap shots. If you’re on a budget and wanna drink come here!!! Tons of seating and outside seating if you’re a smoker. No AC inside the dinning area. Just FYI.

Don’t go there unless you’re drunk and can’t tell the deference. My seafood taco was made with dry tasting imitation crab meat. Gross.

Great 24 hour spot to have great drinks and hear good music. Pizza City is right across the street and they are also open 24 hours.

Ok let me start by saying we went here for drinks. We had piña coladas and they were good and reasonably priced. We ordered Just some guacamole and chips. It wasn’t amazing but ok for the price. Shortly thereafter I saw a cockroach crawling up the wall. I realize it’s Puerto Rico and its freaking hot, but that did not make me want to ever eat anything there again. So we won’t be going back. Overall the place is kinda run down and tacky but not bad if u sit at the bar and just have drinks.

I never review on Unilocal but definitely need to review for this place. Ordered a quesadilla and didn’t get it until an hour later. And my family didn’t get their burritos until 30 min after I got my order when the waitress told us they would get them 5 min after I got my order. Pretty sure there were like 7 waiters/waitresses and only 1 cook.

Ive been sitting here for a freaking hour and a half after ordering wings and a ½ gallon margarita. When some wings finally came out, they were sent to another table. Never recieved the big margarita. I resorted to drinking the hot sauce to hold me over from starvation. Not coming back here again(hey, at least the hot sauce and eventual wings were ok. They can keep the 1 star for that…)

This place is pretty unique and I’m not sure that’s in a good way. It was very dirty and dusty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for 20 years. We were wiping down our table with napkins to get the layer of grime off and the waitress never offered to quickly wipe it down even though she clearly saw us. The set up was also very odd as there was one sink outside both the men’s and women’s bathrooms. It seemed unclean and grossed my family and I out. It was perfectly fine for drinks and some food such as nachos, tacos, and quesadillas but the cleanliness issue worried me. During the day, it’s definitely fine for families with children but not at night as it is open 24 hours and it full of people at the bar.

This place is a tourist trap. Everything about it sucks. Filthy greasy seating. Lazy and inconsiderate staff. Bland and unimaginative food. The staff can’t believe themselves that people come here to eat. Our server was absent most of the time. It won’t surprise me if she were gone grocery-shopping while working here. We had to wait for half an hour to get a bottle of beer and fish tortillas. Even after all this, the server had the audacity to ask us if she could include 15% gratuity in the bill even though we had not even given her the card to swipe. I was so dumbstruck to hear it! Who does that?! The protocol is that you give your card and once it is swiped then you add the tip on the receipt. I walked out of the place disgusted with the whole experience and the food!

We were two of ten people here at lunch time on a Friday. We’re pretty patient people but it took well over a half hour to get our food(a few tacos). I am certain that we were the only ones eating food for lunch rather than consuming shots of alcohol for our meal. By the time we got our food, it was not warm and it looked sad. Being a former waitress, I know what food looks like after it’s ready and has set in the window for an extended period of time. That was my lunch. Sad, tough, droopy tacos. I would’ve said something to our waitress, but she disappeared until it was time to drop our check off. Another thing to note: this place is LOUD. That’s not why I’m giving this place a less than stellar review, but I’m offering this as a «heads-up» to anyone that doesn’t want to be blasted with thumping beats while attempting to eat lunch. The bathrooms here are gross. I walked in it and felt like I was stepping into one of those sketchy bathrooms where the gas attendant gives you a key and you walk alone to the side of the building – only the bathroom at the gas station would’ve been nicer as the toilets weren’t working in here. And the sink is outside the restroom and is in this hallway type area by the bar… Maybe this was just an off day? Regardless, I will be going back to San Juan but will not return here. If you’re in the mood for«Mexican» and in Isla Verde, I think there’s a Taco Bell down by the ESJ.

I ate here several times on my first trip to PR. Not just because the food is cheap. Not just because it’s open 24 hours. But because the food is GOOD! This place has THE best fish tacos I’ve EVER had. Nothing I’ve had in the states comes close. I even went first thing in the morning to get an order to go for my flight home. Yep… they’re that good. The drinks are good too. It has a neighborhood bar kinda feel too, so it’s a good place to hang out, have a few and maybe make a new friend or two. This place is an absolute lifesaver on Sundays when almost everything else in the area is closed at 5 pm.

I did not want to give this place a one star review. But I’ve lived in Puerto Rico for six years, and I can honestly say you can do better buying a $ 1.00 fritura from a roadside stand than this terrible place. My girlfriend is from nearby Carolina, and she raved about this place, saying she used to come here all the time when she was in college. After a day at the beach, we figured we’d go, since she wanted to see if it still lived up to her memories, and I had never been before. The short answer is: no. It didn’t live up to her nostalgia. We arrived a little after 3:30 for a late lunch/early dinner. She ordered a burrito, I ordered a burger. We also ordered food to go, since we knew we’d be up late that night and figured that way we’d have food already made. We were two of five people in the restaurant. It took 40 minutes and 3 separate waitstaff for us to get our food. I actually had time to walk over to Walgreens and go shopping for things we needed while she waited(perhaps I deserve a terrible boyfriend review for doing so, but that is another matter). It seemed that there was massive disorganization and miscommunication among the staff, and a quick look around the restaurant yielded a sign stating that just two weeks ago, the restaurant had changed management. Hope the new bosses get their act together soon. When the food arrived, they brought out my girlfriend’s food about 15 minutes before they brought out mine; the idea that people go out to eat so that they can enjoy dining together is apparently lost on this establishment. Luckily, we didn’t have to make awkward conversation with each other as she ate and I sat there because it was impossible to do so– the music speakers in this almost empty restaurant were turned up to «drunken nightclub crowd» level, making talking to the person next to you without shouting a nigh-impossible task. The food was decent enough, although it certainly wasn’t anything to rave about. I received a burger that was just barely«medium» done, although I wanted well done. In all fairness, I chose to not send it back, because after waiting 40 minutes for a burger, I weighed my options and ate it. My girlfriend didn’t even finish her burrito, she disliked it so much. It took another 20 minutes after finishing to get the to-go food, even though the order was placed at the same time. Even after all that, I was considering giving the place a two or three star review. Then later that night, it came time to eat our takeout meal. I dug into my burrito. Earlier, when we ordered it, we asked for a chicken burrito. They gave me a pork burrito. I usually have a rule: eat at a restaurant three times before panning it, because anyone can have an off day. Perhaps I’m getting too old for that. There are too many good restaurants in the area for me to ever patronize this place again.

If you’re looking for fish tacos likely made out of store bought taco shells stuffed with poor quality store bought fried fish, then this place is for you. If, on the other hand, you want some delicious(or at least palatable) Mexican food, then I recommend avoiding this place. Additionally, even though beer and liquor advertising is displayed all over the restaurant, they don’t serve any of it because they lost or don’t have their liquor license, which we learned about only when we attempted to order some beer to desperately try to wash down the food. To add insult to injury, we were the only people there and the service was very slow even though there were plenty of employees around.

On our recent trip to Puerto Rico with our daughter and her Puerto Rican boyfriend he brought us here for dinner one night. I am sort of a taco snob after having some of the best that you can get in NYC at the 5 Burro Café. But let me tell you the tacos at El Taquito can’t be beat. Their tacos are freshly made and you can pick the type of taco shell, soft or hard. I had the beef, steak and chicken in soft flower tacos. My wife had a taco salad which was also very yummy. No taco meal is complete if you don’t have a beer to wash it down. I had the local beer, Medalla. The service was typical for PR, slow, but who’s in a rush we’re on vacation. Our waitress was also from NYC and was very helpful when ordering from the all Spanish language menu. We enjoyed our meal so much we went back for lunch a few days later. I had their grilled chicken Caesar wrap. It was huge and came with a side of taco chips. There was plenty of chicken and greens in the wrap but it needed more Caesar dressing which the waitress promptly brought over. I also had another Medalla to wash it down. We also went back for dinner a couple of nights later and had our NYC waitress once again. And once again El Taquito did not disappoint. If yer in the area of San Juan give them a try.

Very touristy location that I would avoid unless you are about to starve if you don’t get something to eat. Even then, you might still starve because the service was so slow. Terrible terrible service, and the hard tacos tasted just like Taco Bell, but ‘d rather go to Taco Bell because it’s faster and cheaper. It had the same lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. Too bad there were no Taco Bells nearby. Perhaps I ordered the wrong items, because they do have enchiladas, fish tacos, and fajitas there as well. I was hoping for a quick bite and be in and out, but that was not the case. I waited for around 30 mins for my order to be taken and another 20 mins for my order to come out. For tacos! Needless to say, I was not a happy customer. The lighting was a mixture of harsh neon green lighting and dark areas with no light. The tables, chairs, and menus all felt a bit sticky. Could be due to the humidity and the fact that it also had a bar on one end.

I wish I could give no stars!!! My wife and I wanted a quick, cheap meal, big mistake. I saw the cook making food and it was less then sanitary. I thought I am sure it will be fine. Big mistake, food tasted horrible but worse of all I woke up with Diarrhea. If you don’t want to get sick, Keep Away from this place!

This is one of the first places we ate at on our honeymoon. Since it was near our hotel and open late night we ended up back here on more then one occasion. This place became our substitute green cactus while we were in PR. I loved the food. I had the quesidilla quite often they served our food with fresh lettuce. The bar was amusing. I would definitely recommend this to travelers.
