Food was delicious. Sauces were flavorful and thick, and the meat is all slow cooked so it falls off the bone. A must try. Very hearty & filling so sharing is definitely an option. Atmosphere is very chill with live music which is always great.
Pina coladas are yummy but are $ 7 without alcohol. Tip is included and then «suggested» so be sure to pay attention so you’re not double tipping… It’s a bit sneaky on their part.
Regardless food is fantastic. Servers are kind and helpful :)

Ribs, chicken, chiken wings are all amaxing and well prepared, service is good and the mofonguitos de yucca and all food we tried was excellent, the music was tooloud and they refused to lowet even when asked… only bad part. Location is pretty and manager and cook are great folks had the chance to meet and they were very nice to us

Food and service is great. We pulled in after doing some trails in el yunque and were starving. I wasnt expecting much since we hust pulled in on a whim but the food, ambiance, and service was great. Would definitely go back again.

Had to stop by for another fantastic meal at Barbakoa’s. Thank you Janet! What an amazing hostess, with her sincere friendliness and helpfulness in all her suggestions. She said they are opening another location near the airport with a beach bar! Check it out!

This was a great experience. Located on the road leading to El Yunque, it was easy to find with easy parking. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant has a neat set-​up with several tables outside under umbrellas, which is where we sat. They also had live music which added to the ambiance. Great setting for what turned out to be a very good meal. They serve ribs, beef, chicken and seafood. A couple of us had a combo special that included beef, ribs and Cornish hen. All three were delicious. Drinks were also very good. They have a very nice sangria and a house specialty drink with rum that were both very tasty. Waiters both spoke pretty good English and they were so nice to us. Overall, a very nice place to have a very good meal.

My boyfriend and I just love this place. The string is gorgeous and the food is wonderful!
We go every few weeks just to enjoy the pigwings.

How should ı even start. İt was «perfect» this guy knows how to cook meat. İt was so good even when i was so full and couldn’t eat more i kept eating because i didn’t wanted to waste this excellent food. IT WAS THAT GOOD!!! And the view was outstanding! Just next to the lake, middle of a forest. You will love it, just trust me!

Stopped here for a few drinks & appetizers before ziplining. We wish we had more time to hang out and order more food because it was awesome! The service was friendly and the setting was really cool, all open air next to a creek. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in PR… Ps the hot sauce is delish!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. All I can say is that Barbakoa was the best gift Puerto Rico could give us. 5 stars food: we ordered the Mar y Mar (mahi mahi with shrimp) and Flan de Chocolate as dessert. The place is magic: light bulb strings, fire poles, good music, the sound of nature in the background and the forest all around you. They bring the check with pilones. Great service. Simply perfect! Thanks Barbakoa for making of this night an unforgettable great memory.

Well prepared criollo fusion, seating under tree canopies next to a the cool waters of El Yunque, great salsa music, attentive service.

Perfect spot to stop in for a meal after touring the El Yunque Rainforest. Incredibly gracious staff, lovely view, wonderful food and the coldest beer.

Awesome food, friendly service. The house drink is a must have. Loved it. The place is kid friendly too. We ended up ordering the jumbo starter plate

stopped here after hiking the El Yunque Rainforest, it was great!!! We split the appetizer sampler and got a few beef empanadas and sides of rice. Everything was delicious!!! The empanadas were AMAZING! The service was great, the owner came over with samples of moonshine for us and everyone was extremely friendly, our food also came out very quickly! youre also eating outside on a stream which is just lovely!

My mouth is watering just thinking about the meal that I had here. This was by far the best meal that I have had in Puerto Rico so far. I still have a little time left here so that may chance, but as of right now you guys hold he crown. I came here after ziplining and was ready to eat.
The place is open dining, as with most places in Puerto Rico. The tables are placed over looking the river which is very nice. It had been raining a lot the night before so the river was expecially active. I really enjoyed watching it as I ate.
The love music was wonderful. It really captures the feel of Puerto Rico and the colorful people here. The service is excellent. I wish I could remember the server’s name. He was very friendly and made great suggestions.
I ate the Turkey in the white Cillantrillo sauce. Superb! I wish I knew how to make this ate home. The turkey was so soft it practically fell apart on my fork. DELISH.
The thing that made this experience even more memorable was the wildlife. I saw about 4 different types of Lizards strolling by like it was nothing. I suppose to Puertoriccans it is nothing, but to me it was awesome.
I am thinking about coming by for a second try before I make my way to Old San Juan tomorrow! Thanks guys!

Great atmosphere and tasty food. Highly recommend the ribs and rice! The staff was very nice and the restaurant was extremely clean. It was much nicer than we expected it to be and would definitely return.

Great place to eat at reasonable prices if your visiting El Yunque National Forest. Ordered the Jumacao sampler plate and enjoyed every bit of, recommend stopping by and eating here.

This has to be the best damn BBQ EVER!!!
Talk about a hidden Gem!!! Huge portions great flavor, extremely good price! And they had music, a live group the night we visited!
Can’t wait to go back!

Great food highly recommend this roadside Restaurant. Angus Beef was delicious with a side order of yuca.
The only bad thing was that they add the tip to the bill.
