The Twisted Cork

Food: amazing and fresh. You can literally taste every single ingredient that is put into your dish. We had the pastor pasta, twisted burger, and the yellow snapper.
The pesto pasta was perfection. The basil was aromatic and the pasta was not drowning in oil. The chicken! Oh mah gawd! It was juicy but still maintained the crispy crust.
The burger was out of 5 was about a 4.5. Only reason, and becuase this is my palate, was the bacon jam. The jam was pretty sweet for my taste but I added some of the truffle aoili and it was everything I would like my burger to taste. The ingredients are fresh from beef to bread.
The snapper was succulent and so flaky. I wanted another.
Overall: amazing! Compliments to the chef.

My family and I had an incredible dinner at Twisted Cork, including fabulous service by the charismatic Elgin, and we’ve been raving about it for weeks since! They even have a garden where they source their own herbs and some veggies. I had the salmon with this incredibly unique goat cheese risotto– I licked the plate! They also have some really ridiculous desserts, so save room.
The restaurant is a little on the fancier side, especially in the islands, but we had a 7 year old with us who devoured some of the best Mac and cheese he’d ever had!
Thanks for a great dining experience, we will definitely be back the next time we are down there!

Best burger on the island! It’s $ 20 but worth it! Eaten here several times, always good!

Thank you Unilocal for always helping me to find great places to eat! In all honesty, we would never have found this without you and even if we did, we probably would not have ventured in.
The restaurant is in Frenchtown past a baseball field, and businesses/​restaurants that look like they were once residential homes before. I was skeptical when our taxi pulled up, as the restaurant is at the start of a dark residential road. But, never judge a book by its cover, your next best meal may be inside.
This is five star service and product with a sense of urgency, which is so rare to find in this town. We’ve had Elgin as our server before and he is the definition of anticipatory service. He knows of when to engage in conversation with you (he is hilarious) or give you space.
My hubby and I are huge fans of the shoyu sake oyster shooters (they are not on menu, but are THE BEST oyster shooters we’ve had), Calamari (comes with an insanely delicious sweet/​spicy sauce), Osso Buco (is more than enough to feed two), and apple pie with ice cream (we ask for the vanilla to be exchanged out for their home made bourbon maple scoops instead).
The parking situation is a little sparse. There is street parking, and a few spots out front, but you may just want to take a taxi. You can even wait for your taxi while drinking wine at their high top table outside. The staff is awesome in getting you transportation if you don’t have your own.
A dinner here for two if you are ordering with a bottle of wine will set you back about $ 150-​$ 175. But you’re here in St. Thomas in vacation land, treat yourself, you deserve it!

A fairly «new» restaurant by island standards (3 years old in 2016), this place has quickly and easily risen to my ST top ten list. It has a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere yet serves food that is for refined tastes. If you’re a ‘steak & potatoes’ or ‘lobster with butter’ kind of person, then give your culinary tastebuds a new workout with something 5x better.
We had appetizers of oyster shooters (with sake, soy and sesame) and seared tuna on plantains. Then we split an entrée of a scrumptious mahi-​mahi with mango chutney. If you like dark chocolate, peanut butter and crunch, try the ballpark pie for dessert. One for two people was plenty. With a glass of wine and tip, the bill was $ 105.
Service by our primary server (Meghan) was excellent but it was a team effort here as everyone pitched in. I wish someone had mentioned the «free dessert» available through a Unilocal check in but I can’t knock off stars for my laziness. :-)
I can’t wait to try something else on the menu and that’s the highest compliment that a patron can give.

Had an amazing meal tonight at Twisted Cork. This wonderful place grows its own herbs and salad greens and the impact these fresh picked veggies do for a dish is stunning! Everybody in my party each had something different and after taking a bite from their plates I say there is not a bad dish in the place. The Seared Jerk Tuna Arapas were too die for! Perfectly seared tuna draped over delicate and fragrant arugula. The Kale salad and fresh herbs in chimichurri balanced out the beautifully prepared steak. If you love risotto don’t miss the salmon and fresh vegetable risotto. If they are serving oysters go for it, just make room for dessert. Even if you have to share, the bread pudding is an experience you should not miss and the ball park pie brings you back to those summer days catching a game with your folks and singing «Take me out to the ball game» at the top of lungs between innings. One of the best fine dining experience my Hubby and I ever have had so far!!! Awesome waiter, named Elgin, from NY chatted with us all night and kept us company/​entertained, amazing food made with seasonal fresh ingredients — hanger steak and NZ lamb were delish! Complimentary pineapple coconut bread pudding with rum caramel was to die for! Hands down the best ambiance, service, and food in town! :)

Started with twisted bread and salad.
I had bacon wrapped wahoo special and wife had salmon risotto. Both awesome but risotto the winner.
Strawberry cheesecake bread pudding was unreal.
Great wine list considering this is an Island.

This is a little treasure in Frenchtown. I am always surprised at how fresh, innovative and delicious the food is. Formerly Craig and Sally’s it has a totally new look, but still the same great wine selection and food. The service was very attentive, you could order at quickly or at your leisure. Elgin, our very personable waiter, never rushed us, but dropped by often to check on us.

Excellent meal and service. Can’t complain about anything. My friend had the lamb chops and I had the center cut pork chop, they were both cooked perfectly.

Food was quite pricey actually went here by mistake. My burger was decent, didn’t care much for the fries. My bothers steak was pretty tasty and the pesto pasta my mom got was amazing. We got a free desert from checking in on Unilocal and the ballpark pie was fantastic. Kinda saved my review to be honest. Service was realllly slow

After reading the rave reviews on several travel websites I knew we had to have dinner at Twisted Cork Café for Thanksgiving. My father-​in-​law drove past the restaurant a few days before our reservation and was horrified at my choice. I guess the restaurant didn’t look like much from the outside! He was about to cancel our reservation until the owner at Epernay Wine and Champagne Bar overheard our conversation and told us the Twisted Cork was one of her favorite restaurants in St. Thomas. I’m so glad my father-​in-​law did not cancel our reservation because this was our best Thanksgiving dinner on the island!
Twisted Cork carries a very impressive wine menu so we ordered several bottles of wine during our meal. All of the wine we ordered was outstanding. We started our meal off with the most mind-​blowing Pan Seared Foie Gras. This appetizer included smoked gouda bacon cornbread, crispy onions, and a wild blueberry sauce. For my entrée I was tempted to order the Roasted Lamb or Lionfish, but I am a bit of a sentimental person and had to stick with the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The prix fixe dinner included a butternut squash soup starter, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, and cranberry sauce. Dessert included the choice of pecan or pumpkin pie.
This was our third time celebrating Thanksgiving in St. Thomas and our dinner was the best Thanksgiving dinner I have had on the island! I may even be bold enough to say that the turkey and stuffing was even better than my mom’s! I cannot say enough good things about Twisted Cork and I cannot wait to dine here again next time we visit St. Thomas!

The food is delicious. We came to St. Thomas for a week and this place was so good we had to come twice. I love how the food is fresh and they use fresh ingredients from their garden!
I must try for lunch and especially dinner.

Our server Elgin was great! Very personable and attentive waiter. My husband had the blue crab stuffed chicken and I had the special which was an asian soup with wahoo fish. I tried both dishes and they were OKAY. However, not $ 100 meal good.
I was a little perturbed because my husband ordered the house white wine. Which turned out to be $ 11 per glass (he had 2 glasses). Not cool.

I may not have enough superlatives to describe this restaurant. We came in looking like a band of homeless pirates after a week of sailing and were treated like royalty. They have an excellent wine list at reasonable prices.
The appetizers were so creative I wanted to try them all, and we nearly did (5). They ranged from excellent to flat «out of this world «. Best calamari I’ve had. Stuffed mushrooms were so good that my wife (hates mushrooms) ate 3 of them. I not only tried chicken liver (usually rather eat cat food) but could have eaten it a an entrée.
Dinner was amazing. Osso Bucco was best I’ve ever had including great restaurants in San Francisco and New York. Crab stuffed chicken and yellow fin tuna were off the charts.
Ate so much we could not eat dessert, but they sounded lovely.
If you’re in St Thomas do yourself a favor and go. Reservations recommend but not required.

Came here on the way to the airport (rest of trip was in St John). PHENOMENAL. Had the Thai chicken salad, Mac & cheese, calamari and the turkey sandwiches. The Mac & cheese was okay– everything else was SUPER AWESOME.

The night my wife and I went we passed by the building and were a little nervous to venture in. The area seemed sketchy and we could see through the windows that it was only severing a few customers. But I’m so glad we ventured in.
Inside it has a great wine list and equally as impressive food selection. I selected the lion fish which was fantastic. My wife’s dish was equally as great.
In discussion with the waitress and chef, it turns out that this is more of a locals place and not a lot of tourists coming through. Nice if you want to avoid the cruise ship crowds. The environment is more causal when compared to Epernay, Old Stone Farmhouse, or Havana Blue. I wouldn’t bother trying to get more «dressed up» when dining here. Nevertheless, it is a great meal at a fairly decent price point for what you get.

After 1 year passed from our trip we still talk about the burger we ate at this place. The sweet potato fries and hamburger make my mouth water even after 12 months have passed. Best food we’ve had on our worldly adventures. One day we will come back for you!

We ran into a guy in the grocery store who had just moved back to the Chicago area before we left and he recommended a few places for us to go to… This was one of them and we want to go back!
I ordered the Crab Stuffed Chicken with Sauteed Vegetables and Rice Pilaf. I saw a ton of blue crabs at Magen’s Bay Beach earlier and had to eat some! I couldn’t even taste the chicken the crab was so amazing and there was a ton of it! The sherry mustard sauce was a little tangy for me, but I just pushed it to the side. The candied pecans added a nice crunch to the dish. I loved the rice and veggies, but there was so much crab and chicken that I just worked on them!
The boy ordered the Twisted Burger with Duck Fat Pomme Frites and Truffle Aiole. The burger is made of ground brisket and filet. It’s topped with cambozola cheese, which is a light blue, bacon jam, and place on a house made onion roll. The boy was hesitant to order this because he doesn’t like blue cheese, but he did and was glad! He said it was so good. He smeared the aiole all over the burger it was so good!
The service was really great! We made this our final nice dinner so we could enjoy something special. It really did the trick! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a really nice night out!

This is a good choice. We arrived late and we were accommodated. The food is fresh and inventive without being unnecessarily complicated.
I ordered a chicken that too my surprise was stuffed with pepperoni. I was concerned it would be salty but it was not. I enjoyed the dish.
We shared 2 desserts, peanut butter complication and bread pudding with plantain. I could live without the whole nuts in the pie but both were fantastic.
