Double Header Sportfishing

I was dissatisfied not a bad boat ride but just a captain who makes jack sparrow look like a saint. I’ve been boating and fishing on Long Island my for 40 years. If I ask a question I don’t expect sarcasm in return. I don’t expect to pay for a rough ride or jumping wakes. The weather was nice but after sharing my experience with others and locals I’ve met don’t expect them to cancel due to weather unless it’s a hurricane I did catch a few mahi mahi but small ones I didn’t even know we were fishing sconce the «capitaln didn’t tell me until there was a fish on, and then he didn’t slow down at all sconce there was no mate he would have had to clear the troll himself, overall I enjoyed being out on the sea. This review covers the first game, er, fish slaughter, of today’s doubleheader. I can’t speak for the second outing but I’ll say this: come the ninth inning, it was an absolute blowout. Home team 20, visitors 1.
Our skipper was a guy by the name of Eric, he helmed the rig. Aaron was in the trenches, rigging up every at-​bat. We opened the gates (loaded the boat) at precisely 7am and the first pitch, all five lines, were in the water at 8:00. The game plan was to swing for the fences with the outriggers, right away. We trolled for tuna, mahi mahi and wahoo immediately and while we did hit two Blackfin doubles, both were cut-​off by the defense and the fish were sawn in half by the time they made it to the deck. For the most part, we landed barracuda for two and a half hours (six innings?), which was pretty fun, but not what we were searching for. The skipper called time. Score: Home 6, visitors 1.
From there we reassessed. As it turned out, the skipper had been scanning the field the entire time looking for the perfect spot to get some hits. We anchored, and Aaron re-​equipped with lighter tackle and rods. The final two hours were a bloodbath. About 14 fish came in, including two mahi mahi, a huge wahoo, rainbow runners and others. Two doubles, in that we pulled in two fish which actually bit on the same cast, twice. It wasn’t fair, man. And it was so, so fun.
