Best Mobility Shop in Birmingham. Charlie is a star. They sell Scooters, Wheelchairs, Ramps, Small Aids, Stairlifts and they have a large selction of Mobility Equipment. It is my direct experience that many companies are just in for a quick buck, with minimal customer service or after sales back up. Not so with ABC mobility. Charlie(A new found treasure trove of mobility scooter wisdom) has been in the business for 20+ years, gaining a well deserved good reputation. He quite obviously thoroughly enjoys what he does and is great with people, recognising and adapting to customers mental and physical limitations. How do I know — by sitting in his shop while he fixed my machine, seeing customers come and go. I have a Days Healthcare Midi4 scooter, bought second hand and now about 6 years old. I am having to nurse it until such time that I can consider a new/newer model. Charlie cracked down on the latest engine rattle and repaired it while I waited. He was also able to offer his thoughts and recommendations on the type of scooter I would need for stowing away in the car boot for shopping and holidays. And the cost for the benefit of all this experience? Much less than I would have expected. A well earned 15 Stars.

Hopefully I won’t personally need anything this shop stocks anytime soon. However, if I did need something to aid mobility for myself or a family member this is probably where I would start. They stock pretty much everything you could ever dream of to aid mobility. This obviously includes wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Having once had to buy a wheelchair for an elderly relative I know their stock and prices are extremely good. Beyond this they also stock a huge range of mobility aids which includes walking frames and sticks, magnifying glasses and other aids. They also offer wheelchair and mobility scooter services and repairs. Some of their bigger and more specialised stock comes with free demonstration, set up and delivery. Free parking on nearby streets.

If you aren’t as mobile as you once were, this shop will help you to choose products and items to make life easier. They have mobility scooters from £800 to £3,200 with some heavy discounts of up to £1,500 on at the time of writing.(May 2012). They have furniture for the home in the form of ‘rise and recline’ chairs, and high back chairs,(for support). They sell an easily-operatable straight stairlift at a price that you can;t get on the internet. As I’m still mobile and fit, I’ve not much need for most of the products in the shop, but my interest is piqued by some of the smaller items, especially the kitchen items. So I actually end up walking out with a Good Grips Potato Masher! I had got a potato masher but it was one of those ones you get with a budget set of kitchen implements, and it would buckle as I tried to mash. No more problems with my new model which is ergonomic and solid looking.
