Our aim is for your child to become a confident self-​learner with a positive attitude to study. Through the Kumon Maths and English Programmes, we want them not only to succeed academically, but to carry their appetite for learning throughout life.

History

Established in 1998.

Toru Kumon founded the Kumon method over 50 years ago, in Japan and it is now a worldwide Maths and English study programme. The Bishop’s Stortford Study Centre has been open since 1998.

I am the Bishop’s Stortford Kumon Maths and English Study Centre Instructor. I started the centre in 1998 after I discovered my oldest daughter, (then in year 2) had very little grasp of basic maths! I began to look around for ways to help her when a friend mentioned Kumon to me. I took a closer look and liked what I saw. The rest, as they say, is history. I love working with the children and feel so proud of them when they achieve their goals.
