The church bar and restaurant opened in 2013 after many years of being derelict.

The owner saw this building and by using his creative mind and skills transformed it from a church shell to the magnificent building/​restaurant it is today

John C.

Manager

John first started his career in hospitality at the age of 16 in hotels in north Wales. starting from the bottom washing dishes to eventually managing a hotel at the age of 25.

WAntingham more of a challenge John then joined the church bar and restaurant back in 2013.

Lovely evening at The Church. We both had starters and a main, pâté and chicken goujons to start were really nice, tasty and plenty. We both had burgers for our main– The Reverend and Archangel. Both were nice with plenty on the side, chips coleslaw etc. The beef burger was too strong for me but that is just personal opinion. We were both too full for puddings so went downstairs for drinks, it was busy and there was a great atmosphere. The cocktails were amazing! For what we had the price is reasonable, food is good and well presented and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. Décor inside is amazing and really sets the place off. Will definitely return.

Like to go to this bar it has a nice big terrace and its kind of special a bar in a church have never seen that before. Atmosphere is always nice there.

Just chillaxing inside ‘The Church’ Chester on free Wifi. Called in to get a coffee. Inside is modern and clean with low lighting and candles. Many original features have been retained from when the building was used as the Church of St Andrews. Don’t forget to check out the organ behind the bar and the rose window above the bar. Inside is spacious with plenty of tables for eating. They have a traditional food menu served until 10pm. They have a upper floor with a open area so you can see the bar below. They have a large outside patio seating area with tables and smoking area. Overall the bar is very impressive but its location, down a side road might limit the number of customers. The staff are well trained and plentyful.
