History

Established in 1987.

Chris Fothergill moved to Northleach with his wife Gill where he established Fothergills Gallery, selling original artwork, paintings and prints of the Cotswolds and running a successful bespoke picture framing business.

He closed the Gallery in 2009 in order to focus on his painting work and now works full-time as an artist and architectural illustrator for architects and to private commission.

In 2001, Judges Postcards Ltd commissioned him to paint his ‘Cotswolds in Watercolour’ Calendar for 2002, which sold out, and further calendars have been produced each year since, along with postcards, greetings cards, and other merchandise which are sold throughout Gloucestershire and beyond. His new ‘Artists guide to the Cotswolds’ was published by Judges in 2013.

He holds regular exhibitions of paintings from his travels at home and abroad, his last three solo exhibitions being held in the Theatre, Chipping Norton where he has been artist-in-residence from 2013 – 2014.
