I don’t know how many of these sorts of shops I’ve been dragged around in the past. The kind where your girlfriend says ‘ooooooooooh, look at all the nice things. I must possess these things. I love things Neal!’. Mellstock Quire sells things. However, Mellstock Quire also has the feel of a quality shop. From the outside it stands out on the street with its tastefully painted sign(and the fact it’s named after a Thomas Hardy novel, for those in the know). Inside it has uncluttered displays, mainly consisting of French shabby chic bread bins(actually, pain et croissant bins), wooden clocks, mirrors. Things to make your house look nice. It also has a fine greetings card selection at the back of the shop. Ranging from funny, to arty to romantic this is a pretty extensive and impressive assortment. They aren’t particularly cheap, but they’re not overpriced either, and good quality too. Go there if you like things(and cards).
