This is a nice little pub, quite spacious and with a reasonably priced bar. They have a jukebox with a decent selection of music, but the real attraction is when they have a band playing… see the event I’ve added :)

This pub can look quite tired in the daytime (décor wise) but having been there of an evening you don’t notice this as it’s normally full! It gets particularly when the live music is on, these nights are very very popular! This can result in a lack of places to sit, so be prepared to stand. There is a seating area outside, which is popular in the summer. Good prices for the drinks, some parking spaces round the back. Despite it being busy some nights, it is still easy to get served, the staff are very efficient. If you like live music, you’ll love this pub, get yourself down here.

The Olde Red Lion in Ellesmere port has transformed from being an nice gastropub, average kockabout pub and a terrible place to be into it’s current invention as a late night licensed pub which puts groups (live music) on and/or large screen football and sporting events. With good management this pub has flourished from being regarded as a place for idiots to hang out to respectable pub with food and good music on. Pretty decent atmosphere during the day as well. Get here early as it can become very busy at weekends and Friday nights. A good place to both spend the night or start or finish it.
