Went there with three young girls with learning disabilities, hoping to have a drink to celebrate one of the girls 17 birthday. As one of the girl shouted (due to excitment) soon as we arrived, the man behind the bar stated that he was not happy about the noise. We had little choice but to leave. Great pub!

This is by far Cuckfield’s best pub. Its right at the top end of town so I guess the riff-​raff can’t be bothered to walk up that far. Its got a wonderful bar which is great to sit at and read the paper over a few pints of real ale. The staff and the owners are really friendly and chatty.
The food is great here and they have a specials board that changes with the seasons. I had one of the best steaks I’ve ever had in here — really well cooked and didn’t cost the earth. The décor is really nice, lots of old antique farm equipment strewn tastefully around the place.
Village drinking at its best!
