Blackwell’s has always been medical students’ favourite book store. Being situated next to the largest health education institution in Europe (GKT) I really expected the store to be slightly (or not quite slightly) bigger and more frequently staffed. Sometimes I feel if I went in and sneaked a book out or something no one will ever find out as it’s empty quite a lot of times when I walk by (Of course I never did!)
It is known that Blackwell’s have some offers for medical textbooks but nowadays with convenient online orders the prices are almost as cheap and you don’t have to carry some really thick, heavy books back home. Personally I prefer ordering books online a lot more than walking in buying books this way.
Having said that, this Blackwell’s has some very pretty stethoscope sets, as well as 3D anatomy posters which could be really useful. Next time when you walk by and there is no one in there.
Don’t steal anything!
