Finally got the chance to eat here and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of food. We both had the chicken and mushroom quiche(£6.50) which was super tasty, packed with juicy chicken and lots of mushroom as well as cheese and tomato. Served with a simple and delicious salad. The house wine was lovely, as was the spiced apple tea. Of course the setting– St Katherines Docks– is beautiful and the Boat House has a collection of comfy seats, indoor and out, to choose from.

The Boat House is a great little independent café on St. Katharine’s Dock with a light, airy interior as well as tables and chairs outside so you can enjoy the views of the yachts and boats moored here. I’ve been to the Boat House on numerous occasions for a cup of tea and a piece of cake. This time my friend needed to charge his phone so we asked the lady behind the counter if there were any plug sockets(since there were a fair few people working in there on their laptops). They didn’t have any for customers, but she was able to charge it behind the counter for us. It was a gorgeous day so we ordered a bottle of white wine, a crêpe with Nutella and a pastry called Borek I believe, which was stuffed with cheese and spinach. Lovely atmosphere, cute little café and a great selection of teas including Moroccan mint tea and echinacea tea.
