I’d like to come back here for a Sunday roast sometime. My first experience was just for a quick drink, but the relaxed Sunday atmosphere was wonderful, and the live jazz from a small combo made for an incredible atmosphere. You’ll find a nice Italian theme to the food and drinks, with an Italian craft beer week about to start while I was there. Their menu boasted of Italian influences to some traditional British dishes, which sounded intriguing. Stay tuned for a better review after my next visit!

Only reason this place doesn’t get 4 stars is because in my opinion it’s overpriced. 90 including tip, one starter, 2 mains, 1 bottle of wine and 2 coffees. Pricey but then the location means their local clientele is generally cashed up I assume. However the food is excellent and the service pleasant. A grilled octopus starter was delightful, a little small on the portion but most tasty. A duck ragu was excellent, unsure about the chocolate crumble topping. Seabass was superb. Overall a decent spot. Unsure if i’d go back but worth a look.

Always delicious food, great and fast services and reasonable prices, I’d been surprised and beyond my expectations with every meal I ordered :)

What an amazing restaurant. Love the décor, the service and above all the food. The burrata starter is to die for.

Nice building, nervous but cute staff and a funny old Sunday menu Arancini and a Lasagne made a passable lunch. Friends food was ok– ‘Orzotto’ tasteless(taken off bill so credit due!) Nice bottle of Cannonau Coffee good Nice space & service Food could be so much better though

It’s not often that I love everything about a place, from the décor, the seating, the service, the food, the wine and the prices… but Bottega didn’t put a foot wrong. I went for supper on a Saturday night with a friend who lives in Wapping. She raved about the place and I see exactly why. It’s cool, friendly, oh so Italian and the food is exceptional. We got a basket of the lightest ciabatta to dip into the fab balsamic vinegar and olive oil that adorn every table. We decided to forgo starters with a dessert in mind :-) We both chose specials for our main course — I had the truffle risotto and my friend had the potato crusted halibut. My risotto was perfection incarnated. I love truffles and they are not stingy with them! It was creamy without using cream, perfectly seasoned(I almost never eat without sprinkling black pepper on my food, but it didn’t occur to me to do that here) and oh so truffly.(not sure that’s a word, but I’m sticking with it!) My friend’s halibut was vey unusual, but worked just perfectly. We shared the bigne for pudding(profiteroles). No, not just profiteroles, the lightest choux pastry with vanilla cream inside and real dark chocolate dripped over the top, served on an orange/marmalade sauce. It was a sublime combination and we didn’t speak at all while eating it, in order to do it justice. The coffee, wine selection and dessert wines that we tried were superb. and best of all… they serve skimmed milk! The only things I could possibly find fault with were the front door that never seemed to stay shut and let a draft in, and the unisex loos that are very disconcerting. Apart from that, 10⁄10. Well done!
