Budget hotel in the north of London. My room was quite large, but it only had one small window that faced out to a wall. The bathroom wasn’t in a great state. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, and it’s about 10 to 15 minutes walking to a Northern line tube stop.

The hotel was decently priced for the quality of the overall hotel. The lobby, hallways, and rooms were nicely decorated and designed in a quaint, Victorian style with theme colors of gold, green, and red! They use keys, like a physical key into the lock key, so make sure you take good care of it and don’t lose it because you need to turn it back in! The location is not that good in my opinion! Well, it’s less than 10 minutes from Regents Park, but the neighborhood around this hotel is rather quiet. Also, I had to walk almost 10 – 15 minutes to the closest metro/tube, which is quite far and tiresome while hauling my huge luggage! Back to the room, it was clean and vintage-styled! They also had extra furnitures, such as sofas, a dresser, and a tea table! It was nice but not necessary in my opinion since the room was quite small and cramped! I barely had enough room to open my luggage.

It’s a decent hotel but key thing to understand is that it’s a budget hotel. The hotel is well worn, the reservations systems is pretty awful, the breakfast is mediocre, and the staff isn’t always helpful. BUT, it’s clean, includes free wifi, in a safe neighborhood, near the Underground(Chalk Farm on the Northern Line), and near some decent restaurants on England Lane. Also, it has a cheap pub in the lobby. In short, if you’re looking to come to London and save a bit of money, this isn’t a bad option.

I came here in 06 for my sixteenth birthday with my school, and I’m glad I didn’t come with expectations of this hotel being the snazziest our school could find. The service was exceptional in my opinion, and the concierge was the nicest to us and asked us about how life is in the U. S and how much we liked it there. They were more than accommodating, only that the aesthetic of the hotel in general wasn’t all that great. As we entered our rooms, my friends and I couldn’t help but smell and odd scent that I can only describe as «old». The draperies and bed sheets reminded me of the scene in Garden State where Zach Braff is wearing a shirt that matches with the wallpaper. It looked so depressing to me, that I just wish that I had stayed longer in my previous stay in Paris. One thing though that I loved about staying here was the neighborhood. Everything you needed was at walking distance, and if you needed to get a cup a coffee, there was a Starbucks a few blocks away. Also, the underground wasn’t too far away either, which was convenient for us since we were going to London everyday. Overall, I think it was the neighborhood and service that did it for me. But if you want a more aesthetically-alluring hotel, go elsewhere. I do agree with the other reviews saying this place is quite dismal.

Chintzy I suppose… but I was very pleased with my experience here, especially for the price. I got an enormous room(especially by the standards of what I’m used to in London), and a quick walk to the tube and some basic food and pubs. The staff was very nice, accommodated me for an early check-in(thank God, as my feet were about to detach from my body). And the park is quite close. Wish there was more stuff nearby… but this was a nice place to spend a week.

The hotel is one of the most aesthetically dismal and gloomy hotels I have seen in London, but what an amazing location! It looks like the sort of place that you would find just off the motorway complete with a Little Chef or carvery, but is actually situated smack bang in the middle of Primrose Hill, a few minutes walk from the park. My grandparents stayed there a few years ago when I was living round the corner because it was cheap and close to where I was living in Camden, but god was it depressing. They do very good deals– they paid £75 for a double room– and whilst it is clean and friendly, it has a very miserable feel. The rooms are chintzy, grey and dark and the breakfasts were poor. though a bit grim, it is a very good base for exploring North London– it is close to the tube and very close to Camden, Hampstead and Regent’s Park.
