Divertimenti, the ultimate Cookshop, has been the food lover’s favourite since the sixties. We have over 4500 items of professional quality cookware and tableware — including unique hand decorated pieces — utensils, kitchen electricals and cookers. If we don’t sell it you don’t need it.

The Divertimenti Cookery School is the place to learn about food and the culinary arts. We offer a range of classes for novice and experienced cooks alike in two convenient London locations.

History

Established in 1963.

The Divertimenti story started over forty years ago in 1963 when Michael Schneideman opened the first shop on Marylebone Lane. It was located directly across from the famous Cordon Bleu Cookery School, making Divertimenti popular with students looking to build their batterie de cuisine.

It was Michael’s own passion for food and cooking which drove the creation of Divertimenti. At the time it was difficult — if not impossible — to find high quality cookware in the UK. Mike and his wife Suzy seized the opportunity by offering customers specialist cooking equipment they couldn’t find anywhere else. The Schneidemans started by travelling to Europe where they sourced much of their cookware and brought it back themselves to their London shop.

Today many of those items such as French oven-​to-​tableware and copper pots and pans remain some of the most popular items at Divertimenti.
