Freebird does make a tasty burrito. I had to run some errands during lunch, so I stopped by here to finally give them a try on my way back to work. I ordered the pork burrito with the hot salsa. I also got it with guac(for only 60p more). The burrito was good. Much better than I expected. The pork was nice and soft, the guac was nice and the salsa was hot and tasty. The only downside is it is an outdoor kiosk, so you either need to work someplace close or be willing to eat outside(which is a bit tiresome when it’s 4C outside). But I can’t complain. It’s a pretty solid burrito.

Sad to say it but after coming to this stand for around a year now and even convincing many colleagues to come with me, the quality of ingredients has dropped to an abysmal level since around the beginning of 2014. My colleagues and I used to come once a week and love it every time but over the past few months the pork in particular went from being great into a sickly looking, pink, soupy mess which has ruined it for me and I won’t be back as a result of it. Used to be great but I feel like cost saving attempts have turned it into a huge disappointment.

Freebird Burritos have several stalls across London. As I’d been to the one in Exmouth Market, I was pleased to fine this lovely little stand of Mexican love very near my office. The selection is basic, but it’s a burrito, not a 7 course meal. Choose your beans, choose your meat(also a veggie option) and choose your toppings and salsa. For a fiver you get a big old burrito that is sure to tickle your taste buds and fill you belly full with lovely London Mexican food goodness!
