This is my local work boozer and it’s perfect for the job. Packed with an army of suits from about Tuesday night onwards, vibrant and debaucherous when necessary, with excellent and professional staff. It’s not cheap, but then this is your classic «banker bar», so you shouldn’t be expecting that in the first place, should you?

I was very impressed with this City bar, that didn’t seem too much like a City bar if you know what I mean! A good selection of your normal British fare that is well done and very tasty. Good veggie options too. It was lunch time so I didn’t indulge but spotted a broad variety of ale taps on the way out, many of which I didn’t recognise and would like to get back to try out!
Nice combination of old school wooden paneled walls, and modern interior décor. Very friendly and efficient service. There is a handy little sort of snug area down the back on the left that would fit about 15 people if you’re on the lookout for something for an event.

I enjoyed coming here. The staff were friendly & efficient. Although the selection of beers are not as extensive as other places, they nonetheless have a good range to satisfy the crowd. As for the meal, I kept it simple; fish & chips and found it to be very satisfying!

This is a fine city pub, not quite as august as some, but very good never the less. They have a fair range of cask conditioned beers from Greene King and the usual lagers. The staff seem very efficient even when the place gets a little busy. This is a couple of minutes walk from Bank and Mansion House tubes and only a couple more from The Tate Modern. The clientele are city workers and those working on bankside just across Southwark Bridge.
There’s nothing truly outstanding about it, but generally it is the company and conversation that you go to a pub for and there is nothing in this pub that will stop you enjoying your time there.

Stop 3 on Chewy’s birthday on Friday night. I remember meeting a man at the bar whose brother was famous for some reason but I don’t remember who it was, or why I was talking to his brother.

Ein plüschig eingerichteter englischer Pub, großer Tresen und sehr offen im Erdgeschoß, sehr gemütlich im Untergeschoß. Schon gegen 18.00 richtig voll, viele Bänker aus den umliegenden Gebäuden, trotzdem sehr gemütlich und nicht formell.
