I would just go here on the off chance that the Bang Bang Chicken guy sings a Beyoncé song to me.

BANGBANGCHICKEN! That’s all you need to know about this place, and is all you will ever want again. There are literally loads of street food places around Camden, and 20 or so right by this place, but the main guy has a distinctive voice and calls out«bang bang chicken, you want to try?» and hands out a load of the stuff to anyone holding a hand out. That’s where they get you, just like drugs. They get you hooked, and you’ll keep coming back for more! The rest of the food on offer is quite basic, egg fried rice, egg noodles, or rice noodles, and then a selection of various chicken in sauces. It’s all quite nice but nothing special, except for the highly addictive bang bang chicken of course. There are ageing moped seats along the side overlooking the canal locks, but at the weekends you’ll be lucky to find one, so you may be better off sitting on the side of the canal itself. Sometimes you get a great comedy show when holiday makers who have hired a long boat manage to get it stuck sideways, and struggle for almost an hour to get free. It’s usually around this time when a seasoned boat owner lends a hand and sorts them out in 10 minutes.

The competition of street food vending doesn’t get much more fierce than in Camden. This place is a total gem that keeps me coming back for more though. Their USP(not so unique as other stalls in the area have tried copying it) is their infamous ‘bang bang chicken’. My partner’s convinced the secret spices contain crack, as the stuff is so addictive! They offer samples of the chicken to passers of the stall, situated on the corner of the Main Street, opposite the Lock Markets just by the bridge. Noodles, rice and a selection of Chinese chicken, prawns, veggies and spring rolls are amongst the choices to fill your regular(£4) or large(£5) takeaway box. King prawns are properly cleaned out too, which is an unexpected plus point from a busy street vendor. About an hour before closing they knock a pound off the price of the boxes too! I’ve tried other Chinese vendors around Camden, and this is definitely the best I’ve come across by miles!
