Positioned at the less busy end of Kensington Park Road, this little delicatessen/café is easily missed. I was in the mood for trying somewhere new today and was happy to walk past here on my way to Portobello Road. I finally understand why so many people ask for their coffees to be extra hot. I drink mine luke warm, so don’t mind the versions served in most coffee shops … the cappuccino here is piping hot — and strong! It was too early to try one of their pasta dishes, and I opted for a panino. I half expected the generic rubbery variety we have become to accept as standard. But no, real panini are made with proper bread rolls, crispy and crunchy and filled with fresh ingredients. The cherry tomatoes were the reddest and tastiest I have ever come across — straight from Puglia, like everything else on sale from the counter. I have since checked their website and you can order a decent selection of delicacies online.
