London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square

This Marriott might not be as posh as the one on Park Lane, but I liked the location of this better for its proximity to the tube, Oxford Street, and public transport.
I’m not sure why the half shower door/​tub combinations in other hotel are popular but I agree with Lisa D — they actually have an actual shower curtain. Sure, it’s a little dated but when you’re trying not to get the floor too wet and dodging the cold, it’s colossally better than the modern half glass door.
The lobby is a bit small but staff are friendly and helpful. The executive lounge on the lower floor is cozy with a fireplace and lots of snacks and drinks during the day. It even has a decent afternoon tea selection (self serve) with scones, clotted cream and jam. The breakfast is not bad either but depending on the time you go it can get pretty crowded and you have to wait.
Our room was quite comfortable, quiet and actually large in size with a four poster bed and faced the inner courtyard.
The taxi drivers can get confused as to which Marriott this is so I began to use the address of Barley Mow pub across the way so they know it’s the Marriott on Duke Street.

finally a restroom in the UK with a regular shower. my personal experiences in the UK has involved me getting water all over the restroom floors in order to shower. as there’s not much coverage in the shower area that would block the water from getting all over the place. so i was a very happy camper when i saw the restroom.
staff is really nice and friendly. rooms are standard, clean, and very comfortable. they provide room slippers in the closet. i loved that you don’t need an outlet converter because they have outlets for us americans already! talk about an american friendly hotel.

Loved this hotel – great location, impeccable service, well stocked/​gracious executive lounge. No question that I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Being my first time visiting London, I had no idea where we were or if this was a good central location to sights. Turns out it was!
LOCATION:
The area is really picturesque and not hectic as one normally experiences in most parts of the city. There were a lot of small restaurants nearby open late (past 10pm) which was great for us.
ATMOSPHERE:
The first impression at the front drive is of quaintness. The lobby is modern and chic. We didn’t eat at any of the hotel’s restaurants as we love to venture out.
ROOM:
Our standard room was of average size, clean and comfortable.
BATHROOM:
Single basin, shower/​tub with a quick drain. All the usual amenities were offered.
SERVICE:
The concierge staff was really friendly and helpful, and assisted us in finding restaurants nearby that were open late.
WIFI:
Free, yay!
OVERALL:
Nice location, good service.

Great location, nice exterior, the rest and especially the service is pretty awful. Shoddy interior with duct tape on carpet, messy manager offices visible from the slooow checkin desk, low ceilings, worn furniture and tiny tiny rooms. As a gold Marriott member who has stayed at a fair number of properties around the world this has been by far the worst experience I’ve had at any Marriott. Three managers (Monsef, Sam and Miranda) told me that would fix a problem I had that required me to modify my reservation and all three of them failed to do so without notifying me, each simply passing the buck to the next manager shift. The director of operations told me he fixed it but would not give me written confirmation that he had done so simply saying «trust me» — They all tell you «don’t worry I will handle this for you» then seemingly ignore your request. I’ve heard a few people refer to this as a five star property, it’s not even close, 3 at best and that’s pushing it. The price is closer to 4 stars tho definitely overpriced. Stay at Claridges or the JW around the corner instead, both beautiful hotels with professional staff.

Stayed at this hotel many times. All rooms have been remodeled and are fresh, clean, & elegant. Staff is friendly & the location couldn’t be better.

Executive lounge had a great assortment of breakfast in the morning, and refreshments during the day and evening. Front desk was very accommodating and the bellman always had a smile on his face. Perfect location to tube stations and shops and restaurants.
I would highly recommend coming here when you are visiting London

The reason I really liked this place was because of the U.S. plugs & ipod dock so you can charge all your electronics. Very convenient! The location is very posh but there is not much around in terms of late night eats. Pretty close to some casinos and the U. S Embassy. Very nice rooms.

I have been meaning to write a review of Grosvenor Square Marriott for some time now. I can honestly say that this hotel and it’s amazing staff consistently provide one of the best hotel experiences ever. I travel a lot for business/​pleasure and this hotel has truly become my ‘home away from home’. From the moment I step out of the cab and am greeted by the doorman, to the expedient/​professional manner in which I am checked in and ushered into my room — the professionalism and friendly manner of ALL the staff here is really impressive. I cannot tell you how many times they’ve been of assistance to me (very recently I lost my wallet in a cab and the hotel staff scoured through security tape of cabs arriving at the hotel in order to track down a license plate number, called the restaurant where I had been previous before losing my wallet etc) and delivered a ‘personal’ touch. The amenities of this hotel are excellent — the business lounge smartly designed and appointed, rooms cosy and well-​appointed, (many with lovely views of Grosvenor Square) and I cannot speak highly enough about MAZE (Gordon Ramsey restaurant) and THE LUGGAGE ROOM. If you’ve not been to this hotel, please do think about it the next time you are in London. A wonderful location (I jog around Hyde Park before hitting the hotel gym after) and so close to Selfridges, shopping on Oxford Street etc. On a personal note, (and I thank everyone who has ever helped make my stay at the Grosvenor Square Marriott) I’d like to give a shout out to Don Aguilar (so personable, helpful and a great spirit/​energy) and the rest of the team — (Zeeshan — Security), (Sandra — Frontdesk), (Lotte — Club Lounge),

Great location to shopping and restaurants. Short work to Bond street or Marble Arch stations.

Came here for the Unilocal Time Travellers Ball and stayed for a drink. Drinks were not cheap as you may expect for a central London 5 star hotel but very nice and lovely surroundings with good service. Nice enough.

Hosted a small event here some time back. Had good service and our visitors who were in the lobby for some time working on the free wi-​fi weren’t bothered or given dirty looks. Also — great locations for the Underground and great restaurants and shopping.

Was at the Unilocal event so much fun with people’s outfits and efforts for the time travellers ball. Some interesting foods around but even though I was there from 8:30 I missed out on hotdogs etc. also I felt there could have been more stands in the room. But I shall be looking forward to getting my new book by Chris Hadfield.

They also have a great and delicious
breakfast selection and free drinks. Perfect place to conduct seminars or even
to stay. Price is excellent and affordable. Truly a nice place to stay.

Nice boutique size property located a block from Oxford Street and 5 minute walk from the Bond Street tube station. It’s also a block from the US Embassy and near Hyde Park.
This hotel is the most expensive Marriott property in London and we stayed here because I wanted to maximize the value of the points I was using. It is nice but I don’t think it’s worth the price at nearly £600 per night. I wonder if gets a lot of business from visitors to the embassy. There is a pair of Gordon Ramsay restaurants on the property, a steak house and sushi restaurant but we didn’t try.
Because of my Marriott status, we were upgraded to a superior room which was very spacious and nicely appointed. The room had a ton of cabinet/​storage space built into the wall units.
We also made good use of our access to the concierge lounge. It’s spacious with plenty of different seating configurations. Unfortunately it’s located in the basement but the wall treatment makes this fact less noticeable. Breakfast is served each morning with the usual cooked items (eggs, sausage, bacon, hash brown), cold cuts, smoke salmon, cereal bar, and breads (even have crumpets!!). In the afternoon and early evening, finger sandwiches and appetizers are served, followed by desserts to close out the evening. There’s plenty of alcoholic selection, all gratis. The employees working in the lounge were saints.
Overall, the hotel was a great base for our time in London.

Nice hotel — amazing location — boutique hotel ambiance. Doesn’t smell/​feel like a typical Marriott, in a good way.

I spent a week with this Marriott as my home and office, and my first piece of advice would be to be clear with cab drivers, people coming to meet you, etc that you are at the Grosvenor Square Marriott, on Duke Street. There is another (much posher looking) Marriott very nearby, and 60% of our car drivers were either late picking us up or needed to be redirected dropping us off because they went to the wrong location.
I found the room size to be fine. I had a corner suite and my queen sized bed took up most of the room, but I didn’t care– it was a huge, comfy bed. The alarm clock had an iphone dock for easy phone charging and alarm-​setting. My curtains kept things cavernous well into the morning, so I wasn’t waking up early when I didn’t need to. I had a tv, too, but didn’t use it.
The bathroom had a jacuzzi and was stocked dailly with L’Occitaine products. My mom got quite the gift basket when I returned! My only complaint was the doors really had to slam to close– and my closet was located in the (narrow) hallway, and the bathroom door opened right onto it, making accessing the closet tricky.
The common space was a good size, with foreign outlets by the phone, making it unnecessary for me to bring a converter. Win!
I didn’t pay for anything, but in-​room Wifi is £15 per day for up to three devices. I ordered room service one night we worked late and it was pricey and gross (don’t get the chicken club). The lobby staff was friendly enough, and there’s a 24 hour gym with a few cardio machines, weights, and 90s music. Plus, they have a fridge with bottled water and apples.
Mayfair’s not the most hoppin’ area, but it’s a quick walk to Soho, a reasonable tube ride to London Bridge or South Kensington, and felt safe to me as a sometimes tipsy american tourist returning to her hotel at 1 am.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location, quiet and comfortable rooms.
Only issue is price, but alas its London, near the US embassy.

I stayed for three whole weeks on business-​yea, I know… life is tough (shrugs)
Well…I was greeted and escorted to my room by the Guest Services Manager (Don)-he was great! He suggested places to go and things to do… after work, of course!
This hotel is a couple blocks from Oxford… on the way is a cute Italian restaurant and a delicious waffle shop that will have your tummy tantalized by its yummy aromas!
All the hotel staff were super super nice and extremely helpful. The concierge was excellent! Knew bus routes, tube stops, EVERYTHING!
I worked in Canary Wharf so it worked that this hotel was just a few minutes from the Bond Street station-​quick 20-​ish minute ride and I was at the office!
I fell in love with Marks & Spencer… just down the street! And the hotel will provide a small refigerator at no charge if you ask.
Just one thorn in my side-​pretty much every weekend, you can count on one of the elevators going out! :(Eh, so they route people around the corner to the service elevator… not a super big deal but kind of annoying; hahahaha, especially if you don’t know it’s broken yet and are just standing there!
Yet, if I get another project in London, I know where I’ll be staying!

My husband is a Marriott Rewards member so we were able to get this hotel with points. I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 star hotel, it’s no Ritz Carlton but it’s a really clean modern hotel with upscale amenities. We were able to get into the executive lounge for breakfast and snacks every day. SO worth it for breakfast, we were in and out of there in 20mins and were able to be on our touristy way.
Hotel is also about 3 blocks from the tube and across the street from Grosvenor square park. It’s nice and quiet here at night and there’s a bar/​restaurant next door and a few more on the way to Oxford street.

Je m’étais faite à l’idée que les chambres d’hôtel à Londres sont toutes minuscules. Et depuis j’ai découvert le Marriott Grosvenor Square.
Bien situé mais loin du métro, cet hôtel rutile avec un intérieur moderne et chaleureux. Avec l’inscription au programme de fidélité, on obtient facilement des upgrades. Du coup, j’ai parfois eu droit à des chambres immenses, des suites etc…
Accueil correct sans être cérémonieux, le wifi n’est pas compris par défaut dans le tarif de la chambre. Ils donnent des mots de passé réseau et c’est un seul par appareil.
Les chambres sont ultra propres, lits très confortables. Chaque chambre est équipée d’une télé écran plat, d’un bureau, d’un tas d’oreillers, d’une bouilloire avec du thé, du café et des biscuits, un mini bar rempli, un coffre fort, des armoires, sèche cheveux, limes à ongles :-)
Par contre, pas de brosse à dent ni de dentifrice!
Le room service est efficace avec un choix raisonnable pour dîner (burger, sandwich anglais, mais aussi plats mijotés et soupe du jour).
Le petit déjeuner du business center n’a pas à rougir par rapport à celui du restaurant Gordon Ramsey (buffet sans plus) qui se trouve dans l’hôtel.
On y trouve un buffet (au business center) très copieux avec thé, café, confitures, toasts, fruits, yaourts, jus de fruit, jambon, oeufs… Ce qui manqué, ce sont les oeufs faits sur demande.
Bref, un hôtel top confort avec du personnel qui né toise pas le client.
