I am definitely a M&S Food fan. I love their sandwiches, desserts, egg tarts! and much much more! Recommend it for a snack or for lunch or just to stock up on lots of goodies for home!(Of course Borough Markets is near so your shopping cart is probably already overfull but foodies know better!)

marks and spencer simply food is definately more than simply food. there seems be everything you could want there, you can get whole meals, tasty deserts, or chocolates as present. be sure to buy some percy pigs while you are there, they have to be the nicest sweets on the planet. whilst a little pricey, it is definately worth the extra few pounds.

I am just going to give this M&S, and it’s little neighbour in London Bridge Station a massive thumbs up for getting me out of so many hungry tight squeezes. This Simply Food is a bigger than the station one, which means it has a bakery. And this in turn means joy all around. The fire pepper foccacia is something to behold, as are the squashy, fresh cookies. You can’t beat an M&S when you need quick supermarket food stock up. Their aptly named ‘food to go’ section is amazing, sandwiches wraps salads to suit anyones taste. The chicken and avocado is a fave, as is the tuna and three bean salad for super food days. The London Bridge station one has less selection, but takes me away from the horrible burger king and gives me a delicous and similarly priced alternative. It is also open really late– till midnight, so percy pigs can be bought on your way home from the pub/cinema. Thank you M&S food, you are simply and utterly delicious.

I know that the general perception of M&S is that it is a bit pricey for us students food-wise, but there are some things that I reckon are really good value there. This is my local branch and although a little random(it also sells tights & cards) it is still great. I always get chocolate cookies here, always! They are only 62p and so fresh. Also, they have a great off licence which does great deals. My personal favourite at the moment is two bottles of cava for £10, complete bargain. I also get the rose lambrusca here when I can’t handle a real drink, it’s really light and only £2.85. This branch is always really quiet so you never have to queue and it doesn’t sell out of the good stuff like the central London branches. I’m a massive fan.

I popped into here prior to having a tooth out recently, for a ‘last meal’. Marks and Spencer is sometimes disappointing, but one area in which they really excel in my view is their range of sandwiches, salads etc to grab and eat. This store has them all in all their glorious variety. Absolutely the best of Marks and Sparks. On that day I choose a BLT. Probably not the best choice with a bad front tooth the lettuce was the real deal, full of flavour, though also a little difficult for me to negotiate right then! Lovely flavoursome bacon and tomato too. A vanilla smothie washed it down very nicely. On other occasions I’ve had the salads: not overloaded with vinegar like some can be. A great option for something quick to eat. Lots of variety for every taste, including plenty reasonably healthy, and decent value too.
