Metal Morphosis

The piercer (Johnny I think) was very nice and kind. My friend and I did piercings in our conch which is quite a sensitive area, and he made sure that he does it precisely where we wanted to (we kinda drove him crazy) and he was very patient and understanding that we want it just right. He made sure that we’re feeling alright afterwards and overall was very polite, pleasant and kind. Great little place and not too expensive.

Right up on the third floor in Selfridges, among the high street womenswear is Metal Morphosis, a tattoo and piercing concession. I wanted to get my tragus (part of the ear) pierced but didn’t know of a good piercing salon so thought I’d shell out for the quality.
It was £35 for the piercing and a bottle of solution to clean it with afterwards. The staff are lovely and there’s only two full time piercers so you usually see the same guys. My piercer was hilarious and completely calmed me down in my pathetic fear of pain! He was really professional and was helpful in telling me how long it would take to heal etc so I’d go back again if I wanted anything else done.
One of my flatmates is also thinking of going back for a tattoo which start at about £40 because the service was so great and there haven’t been any problems with my piercing. They also do tattoo removal.

I had a double piercing done here at the top of my ear — a bar going diagonally across the top. It’s quite a «high-​risk» piercing apparently, that lots of people have had problems with — infections and the like. It is certainly the one that hurt the most, and I have quite a few.
But aside from the inevitable pain, which really wasn’t too bad, I had no other problems. This is a really professional place — highly sterile and informative. The guy who did the piercing was really friendly and made absolute sure he put it where I wanted. Cleaning fluid and instructions were supplied and overall I really couldn’t complain.
If I decided I wnat another anytime soon, i will definitely go back here.
