Monmouth is great. It’s just«one of those places» you take out of towers because it’s a little London gem. Everyone raves about it. Honestly, I can’t really say much about the coffee. It’s good? It’s great? My taste buds do not appreciate coffee but I can tell you it’s not bad coffee. So why am I reviewing it? I just feel like I should. It’s such a special place and coffee lovers swear by it. This location is in the middle of the 7 Dials, a wonderful area to show friends from out of town. Also, the people are very kind and the setup is cool. They also carry yummy pastries, and those I know are good. :)

Excellent coffee, we had cappuccinos, the place is charming. The queue is run very efficiently, and the service is attentive.

What can I say more than the best coffee in Lindon city. Great coffee guide, good service, nice seating area and the best part is it close to borough market. If you had the chance to try their fantastic coffee give their truffles a shot too(they’re really delicious).

Definitely lives up to its hype! The service here is always friendly and they’ll get the cup of coffee in your hand in a matter of minutes.

Did not plan on stopping by here, but as I was walking to trafalgar square, I noticed a line outside this small coffee shop. Checked it on Unilocal, and saw that it was highly rated, so I went inside and ordered the filtered coffee. It was definitley the best cup of coffee I got in London, a little small for £2.6, but it was so good that I came back multiple times. Luckily I did not have to wait that long(~5min) the first time, but the queue can become pretty long.

If the line is past the corner? Carry on walking. It is not worth the wait. However, if you are there when it’s quite quiet? Treat yourself. Sit down with a nice filter coffee and maybe get some toast and watch the busy street outside. I think when you have to queue for things your expectations are raised and some can leave disappointed but the coffee really is nice here when you haven’t had to wait 20mins for it.

Now days, it seems as though Monmouth has fallen prey to being a victim of it’s own hype. While people now queue out the doors at both Borough Market and the Carnaby shops respectively, the coffee has begun to suffer. Once it was creamy, well made and delicious… my last few visits has just found me leaving with a watery, rushed coffee rather than what I use to know and love quality wise from them.

Monmouth has coffee so good it will make your mouth moan. This café proudly ranks in my top 10 London quality cafés. They prepare baked goodies that are always fresh and constantly coming out of the oven. A soft and creamy croissant or a delicious chocolate brownie are the ideal treats to match your rich flavoured coffee. If you miss the taste of authentic coffee this is definitely the place to go and get yourself a real espresso. The interior is small but very welcoming and people don’t seem to bother waiting on the line. It is also a great place to meet people as you’ll probably have to share a table with someone.

Always a beautifully smooth and flavourful coffee. It’s worth the queue, one day there will be a table free and we will enjoy the sit down service. Café au lait today but usually a cappuccino, we pop in here whilst doing the comic shop rounds.

Best coffee shop in town! Friendly staff who always have a smile on in the early hours of the morning. Also serve some amazing baked goods to go with your coffee and all at a very reasonable price. They have a few seats at the back of the shop if you want to stay in. They also sell their own beans which you can give a go at home.(Visit — 18/05/2015 Breakfast Takeaway)

It’s been said, it will be said again, Monmouth makes a damn fine cup of coffee. Arguably, they make the best cup of coffee in London, and it’s hard to argue with that when you try it. Rich, hot, full of flavour, exactly what I miss and don’t get at other spots around the city. You think you’ve had a good cup and then you try this and your realise what you haven’t had. Now, this Monmouth is tiny, which can make it a monster pain to try and get that delicious cup of said coffee. The line is always long. The best way to do it is to try and grab a seat(which there are very few and you will be sharing a table with others) and to table service, but even then, we had to ask someone to take our order a few times before they did. So maybe waiting in line and going is the better option. But either way, it is worth it. No question, this is where the coffee is at.

Great coffee, quick simple service. I grabbed a coffee(and croissant) to go so didn’t stick around but the service was friendly and efficient — the queue which I guess is a permanent fixture moved very quickly and I had my flat white in my hand after a few minutes. As far as taste goes… Monmouth’s reputation precedes it and it lived up to the rep of great tasting, properly brewed coffee

Fantastic coffee, super nice staff but the reason I’m not giving five stars is the usual massive line of people(mostly tourists) who stop by here because they feel like they«have to try Monmouth». Which is great and all, more people should try proper coffee and not the soap water you get at Pret, but yeah. This place is tiny tiny so getting a table is difficult, and when you do, you usually have to share a booth with other people which can make for quite awkward situations depending what they talk about… TL;DR: great coffee but not worth the long wait.

Oh this place is so good. Makes me warm and fuzzy! They have the best coffee in London. Nothing better than getting a latte or flat white, then scoring a seat on the bench outside and watch the world go by. I keep forgetting they only serve«Jersey milk,» which I’m reminded of every time I ask for my usual soy latte. I’m not lactose intolerant, I just like the taste of soy. I always get a bag to take home so I can make it in my French press. The vibe here is cool. Highly recommend it.

I came all the way from NY for this! Ha, not exactly, but I knew I wasn’t going to leave London without trying it once! I wanted to go to the one at Borough Market but the line was just ridiculously long. I stayed at a hotel across the street from this location and while there was a line at 9am, it moved quickly. We decided to sit down at one of the booths(there are 3, all communal seating). We ordered a latte and a cappuccino and both were very smooth and very delicious. I loooovvveeed the latte. We also ordered the almond croissant and a brioche bun. The almond croissant was so crispy, flaky, and had such a great and strong almond flavor. The brioche bun had a sweet sugary topping and was also really good. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Service was very quick. Coffee was so good, I had to get it one last time before I left to go to the airport. I wish they had a branch in NY. Sadface. If you’re visiting London or live here, definitely give the coffee a try. You won’t be disappointed! (It seems like you get a larger cup sitting down at the booth than to order your coffee for on-the-go… all for the same price so if you have time to spare, sit down and enjoy your coffee)

Monmouth, we meet at last. I’d had Monmouth coffee served by young pretenders but I’d never visited the hallowed centre of one of the very first ‘artisan’ cafes in London. I’m not going to be able to add much new to the reviews here: it’s a small space, with very limited seating that a bafflingly high number of people seem willing to queue for. Thankfully one doesn’t have to wait long to take away. Service is friendly, making it easy to buy beans and liquid alike. The coffee is top-notch. Maybe a little expensive, but more than worth the trip/wait/squeeze through the narrow aisle to the counter.

There is ALWAYS a queue if you want to sit down to chat with your friends, so Ive only gotten coffee to go. You can tell the store is designed to get people in and out to accommodate the busy foot traffic. There are plenty of reviews here so I will just add that: — Monmouth makes the strongest flat white I’ve had in London. I stop by after class if Im seeking a caffeine kick — It’s probably only worth it to wait in queue if you are a coffee connoisseur — ranking coffee beans(espresso for french press) from favorite to good: blue bottle, monmouth, stumptown, intelligentsia, workshop

For months during the summer I visited this coffee shop almost daily for their unsurpassed iced latte. There’s no doubt that at their prices, Monmouth is the luxury end of the coffee spectrum but in my opinion it is worth it. They take great care to get your order right, the staff are dutiful and the coffee itself is beautiful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Products bought: cortado, 2x Piccolo and a sugar brioche. Now, as an ardent coffee fan, I always have an issue when I come to London. Since I’m usually either here for a day at the time or busy during«office hours», I don’t have the time to look for decent coffee places. I have found a few that I go to if I’m near them, but they were nowhere in my vicinity when I arrived at Victoria Coach Station this morning. I have yet to find a good place near Victoria, but I wandered north-east toward my destination and Unilocaled it up on the way. I found Monmouth and walked on over. It’s a small venue that deals mainly in takeaways, but I settled myself in the communal seating at the back. The communal nature of the seating is simply a solution to a problem of space, and it works well. It’s cozy and I don’t mind sharing my space. I was able to comfortably stash my backpack and bag under my seat and regularly shared space with three other people in my 1.5 hours here. The staff is friendly and quietly competent. Krystal, who was on the Last Marzocco gave me cup after cup of deliciously smooth coffees of increasing strength without ever losing the flavours. It was never bitter, always a great balance of sweet and acidic. I’ve always favoured the bolder blends for my milky coffees, and they deliver on this account. I would add that the sizes of their flat whites and capps are too big for me, so if you like it strong, ask for a cortado or piccolo or simply a short FW. I never have sugar in my coffee, by the way, but I had a taste of the brown cane sugar they keep at the tables and it was very tasty. I normally wouldn’t mention the sugar at a coffee place, but this sugar is remarkable enough that they sell it at the till by the bag. The sugar brioche was nothing amazing but brioche doesn’t tend to me. It wasn’t as dry as they sometimes are, so that’s good. Right, I better move my buttocks off the seat and go onto the London streets. It’s been lovely, will definitely come back.
