I had heard a lot of good things about this place and was intruiged enough to walk right up the Stroud Green Road after an Arsenal game and bring my mates in tow one evening. It was packed and looked a lively atmosphere. The staff was rushed off feet it seems but told us to come in and was fine to wait around by bar area(bit squashed to wait there though) but good intentions. We eventually got a table for 4 in about 30 mins later with our beers still in tow. Now I did enjoy the ambiance but I can’t help feel on this one visit that the pizza were slightly overrated. I feel pizza have to have some subtle differences(Franco Manca crust for example) in order for them to stand out. Here it didn’t really, and I found the crust on my ham, artichoke and egg pizza a bit soggy. Was almost too thin for my liking(which probably caused this). Was nice and fresh but just didn’t really do anything for me to make it memorable. As I say I did really like the vibe and being so close to my football team I am definitely willing to come again and try and another one for an updated review.

Great pizza, great atmosphere! I LOVE this place, and you should never doubt a crowded restaurant even at 9pm on a Saturday night, living nearby I have been here several times, sometimes a little inebriated(ok lots of times) but occasionally not. Normally I just stick to the pizzas, but this time I went the full 3 courses. We had the Bocconcini Fritti(deep fried Buffalo Mozzarella in a tomato sauce) who doesn’t like deep fried cheese and we also had Burratina Pugliese more mozzarella and aubergines, WINNER! I stuck to pizza Parmigiana for the main, always good, I love the variety of vegetarian options and pizzas they have available. I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert(which is the best dessert ever), although I definitely want to try the Gelato they are so well known when I go back. Service in there is always pleasant, yes you may have a wait for a table but they are happy for you to stand at the bar and take your name down, so no annoying queuing. Despite it being epically busy we were served quickly, the waitress was happy, helpful and being next to the open kitchen gave us the chance to thank the kitchen staff personally. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place, they are also on Deliveroo(so you can now get takeout delivered from them), I have a feeling Pizzeria Pappagone may be seeing the most of my paycheck.

Best pizzeria in London with great portion sizes and family atmosphere. Delicious bruschetta! Great gelato — sometimes get it from hole in wall as a late night treat

Birthday parties here are really great, everyone gets plenty to eat and the food quality is good too. The staff make any occasion seem effortless and they sing«Happy Birthday» to boot. Just take yourself there to try it out.

What do you know. I’ve finally found a good pizzeria in London. I often complain about waiting staff being rude and slow but there’s no complaining here. The staff are super friendly and cheerful, which gives this place a lovely atmosphere. Though it can get too noisy at times. I had the Quattro Stagioni, which was delicious. And ended with a banoffee pie. Will definitely be back again.

This place is awesome. Mega busy, you have to book. We didn’t and ended up having a drink outside for an hour, but it was well worth it. Proper wood fired pizza, brilliant pasta and even a gluten free option. Best Italian I’ve had in ages! Great Italian food made by Italians :0)

As an extreme meat lover(bordering on obsession), it surely says a lot when I would go for the vegetarian option! The parmigiana is absolutely divine, probably the best in London! The aubergine slices are delicately fried and coated with a loving layer of crispiness that’s enough to drive my carnivorous instincts away!

I have been to this establishment several times and I continue to go back as the food is so easy and tasty. The sangria is definately a drink to have while you wait for your table. This place gets very busy but is well worth the wait for a cheap, wholesome meal.

Best Italian food in Finsbury Park! We always get pizza here and they do a huge amount of Italian dishes. They also do amazing ice cream.

Might not look anything fancy from the outside but this place is always busy because it does such amazing food and has great service. One of the best places to eat in /around finsbury park and crouch hill.

I got the PIZZAPORCINI(no tomato sauce) 9.90 Buffalo mozzarella speck, tangy talleggio and fresh porcini mushrooms for takeaway Saturday night. I like the thin pizza slices as it allows the quality ingredients to stick out. I liked the talleggio in particular as its tanginess is appealing and plays well off the porcini mushrooms– although the pizza could use more mushrooms! The bar service was OK– not the warmest but eh, it’s London, I expect this. If in the area, the mare e monte looks intriguing.

Without doubt my favourite Italian restaurant in London. Staff are always friendly and are Italian so create a really authentic atmosphere in the restaurant which is simple without being tacky. Diners are a nice mix of Italians and Londoners which also contributes to a buzzing vibe. The food is incredible especially the pizzas which are made in an authentic pizza oven that sits in the middle of the restaurant allowing guests to see the food being made. Yet to be able to finish a pizza but they are happy to box up left overs so you can take home. The pasta and anti-pasta dishes are also great quality and everything is very reasonably priced. If I could change one thing it would be a slightly bigger wine list. If you are in the area you have got to eat here!

This place is busy and VERYLOUD. WILLNOTBEBACKEXTREMELYRUDESERVERNAMED«Massamu» Fighting back with a paying customer and not apologizing for his own mistakes on taking down the wrong order and especially having the audacity to tell me I can’t get a glass of ice with my water because I ordered tap water instead of bottled still… I would tell nobody to come back to this terrible place. I made a mistake not telling the manager how my experience that night was but here is my review so everyone can see what type of restaurant they are running here.

A massive menu absolutely full of winners. It’s well priced and always busy/full in the evenings so book if you can, but once you’re say down the service is pretty fast. They have a good selection of pasta and seafood but I’d recommend the deep fried mozzarella balls to start and then any pizza is good. Enjoy!

Someone says it is the best pizza in London, so I have travelled this far to try it. The place is actually very big and the menu quite long. I tried the«parmigiana» pizza as it was suggested to me by the Italian Farmers bartender. it is indeed quite good, with buffalo mozzarella and fried aubergines! The service is okay, considering I was there on a friday night and the place was really crowded. Not bad at all and quite cheap, but I am not sure it is the best pizza in town.

Love this place! Food here is so good, esp the scallop pasta! YUM! Pizzas are nicely cooked, however I think they lack a bit of flavour. Prices are excellent, atmosphere is buzzy and friendly plus they have a good selection wines for reasonable prices. I’ll def be a regular!

My new local pizza place and I heard a lot, so on my first night at my new home I went straight away with my fiancé and friends, Atul and Dan. Two is perfect, three’s a crowd and four is a great way to start a new life. After a bit of heavy lifting and fly tipping(shhhhhh) we had a drink and off for dinner. Onto the food. Based On Dan’s recommendations we ordered the mozzarella balls which were deep fried and covered in tomato sauce. This was nice and light and the cheese was very gooey. The tomato sauce added an extra kick as there was a slighty spicy taste to it. Good start, thank you Dan. For the main, I went for my tried and tested Calzone, as I wanted to compare it to the calzone at La Porchetta. The filling here was salami, ham, mozzarella and black olives. The pizza was tasty and very filling but didn’t have the richness and depth that I’m used to at La Porchetta. However, after the calzone I didn’t feel to stuffed and I know that I will definitely be back again and again. Thank you Pappagone for a lovely dinner and see you soon.

Pizza. Did you hear me? PIZZA! Now. At a start of what turned out to be a very boozy night I had an epiphany: I needed Pizza to survive this. So before hitting the bars we decided to line our stomachs at this lovely Italian restaurant near Finsbury Park. We have been here before and have always been happy. What is there not to like: Yummy pizza served by yummy Italian waiters! They greet you like they know you and haven’t seen you in a while and they are charming and friendly. Sadly that night we were surrounded by screaming children and decided to retreat to tables near the bar, so we could actually hear ourselves. Otherwise a very nice eating experience with a huge pizza for me and black squid spaghetti for my friend. Great food all around.

What a wonderful gem in the gritty streets of Finsbury Park/Stroud Green… this place is sooo worth giving a try if you are in the mood for comfort food. This is your ultimate neighbourhood Italian restaurant: staff seems to be exclusively Italian(at least they all behave that way), they are super-friendly, and the place is always darn packed with locals. Seriously, try to get a table for four on a weekend evening and you’re probably in for quite a wait… but this wait is well worth spending. The food is solid in all instances… it’s not epicurian heaven, but all the dishes that we sampled(pastas, pizzas, starters) were tasted fantastic and the whole buzz around you contributed to your party having a good time as well.(Having said that, I would probably not go here on a romantic date, nor alone… that might just be a little bit too depressing! ;-) Nevertheless…try out this local gem!
