Modern, airy, marbled space. Awesome selection of fish and seafood dishes with a leaning towards raw. I cook a lot of fish and shellfish at home and I enjoyed the dishes that R&M offer which are complex to prepare like the lobster or need fantastically fresh ingredients like the carpaccio tuna. The wine list is completely uninteresting. Needs some top end wines like Raveneau and Sauzet. The waitresses are cute air heads. What’s not to like(for the guys)?

A casual seafood dining place that serves seafood either grilled or raw. All dishes are created to be shared and the size for most of the dishes are slightly larger than tapas. The seafood is affordable and fresh with only 5% service charge as you order through an iPad. The crab cakes is one of the best I had in London and definitely one I recommend to order. Along with the red prawns which are either served raw or cooked to your choice. Another of my favourite are the rock oysters at Rex & Mariano as it was surprising to be easy to eat. The restaurant is spacious and there are basins to clean messy hands after enjoying the tasty seafoods. It’s a nice place to enjoy with others, since you will want to share your food here. However in saying all this, I have recently been told that they are closing the restaurant and replacing it. I’m going to miss it as there are not places in London like them that serve affordable seafood.

Excellent seafood place. Moving soon(in mid October) from this branch to another space. The red prawns are the star. Get them raw. And suck the heads out. If not, why are you into seafood! A selection of the raw fish is best, like starting with oysters, then getting a cerviche, carpaccio and tuna tartatre which is another stand out. And it’s all great value! Love the ipads at table to give a sense of modern feel.

I like what I saw in Rex and Mariano, while the seafood selections by no means were exceptional, in terms of the quality of the actual ingredients, it was still fresh and the cooking was decent. Another great thing about this place is the price, with most items costing between £7 to £15 which is real good value when you are ordering fresh seafood.

This places specialises in seafood. There’s hardly anything on the menu that isn’t. Rick oysters were deliciously fresh, and quite a bargain at £1.75 each. Tuna tartare was amazing, with a citrusy zest. Definitely will be ordering that again next time! Crab cakes were on the small size, but packed full of crab. Bit pricey at £12. Ordering via iPad was an interesting experience. I recommend ordering small, but frequent, tapas style. See what you like, and you can order more. A bonus is that the service charge is only 7.5%, instead of the 12.5% at most Soho places!

Oysters and ceviche! What is not to like. Period. We could each have two oysters and then ceviche to top it off with and — luckily — some in our group didn’t enjoy the oysters at all. So a select few got quite a few! But I’ll give you this; it’s an acquired taste. The cod ceviche was nice both in texture and taste since the fish wasn’t minced completely as it’s sometimes seen. However; ordering on a tablet instead of a waiter — not sure I’m a fan. === Disclaimer; this was a stop on a SoHo food safari-thing, so the review may seem rather slim but we only had a few items.

One of my new favourite spots in London. This is a seafood restaurant owned by the group behind Burger & Lobster and Goodmans. You will struggle to find better seafood in the city and it comes at incredibly reasonable prices. Stand out dishes are the tuna and avocado tartare, tuna steak, swordfish steak and whatever the market fish of the day is. They also have a great selection of white wine to pair with their dishes, including some Californian whites that are hard to find in the UK. One additional interesting touch is that you order your meal from an IPad on the table. I found this odd at first but it has the benefit of allowing you to take your time after each course, ordering the next one only when you are ready. You can also easily and quickly double up on a dish if you really like it. Highly recommend this place.

Went here for dinner last night with a group of about 8 of us from work. I’ll start by saying we went round the table and graded the meal at the end for the iPad questionnaire and it came out a 3.5 so my 3 may be a little harsh but it was my vote! The food was good. Quite oily generally but pretty good. It came quickly too. The service was also good but it getting used to the iPad ordering was a pain in the bum to start. The owner cane out and the end and spoke to us and gave us free limoncello and he was lovely. Oh you know what, I’m gonna give it a 4! If you like fish and seafood, try it!

I hadn’t heard of this place before but my boyfriend insisted it was my cup of tea. He wasn’t able to get reservations for the time we wanted(good sign on a Saturday, I thought) but we walked by to see if they could squiz us in. They could! Huzzah! Walking through to our spot at the bar I really liked the décor, minimal, white tiling, hand washing troughs and towels easily accessible around the restaurant. Even though the place was almost full it still felt really relaxed and spacious, not hectic like some places get. The server set us down and explained how the set up works. Essentially, you have a menu on an iPad, and you order what you want, when you want it. A fantastic way to eat at your own pace– perfect for gluttons like us! We started with an oyster each and some tuna stuffed olives. I have no comment for the former, it looked exciting and was an interesting texture but not something I have any idea about! The olives, however, were delicious. Salty, moist, hot, moreish. We ate them so quickly and gleefully I forgot to take a picture. Oops. We then had the cooked red prawns, tuna ceviche, some broccoli and chips. That ceviche! I was in raptures over it. A wonderful balance of fresh lime and zinging elements with heat from the chillis, crunch from the onions and the delicious taste and meaty texture of the fresh tuna. Easily the best I’ve had in London. The red prawns were lovely, perfect texture and easy to de-head. I’ve not had them before so cannot compare them to anything. Not the flavour of regular pink prawns! We decided we had room for crab cakes and some courgette chips with aioli. Best. Crab cakes. Ever. Not the cheapest thing on the menu but so delicious they evoked a reverential silence as we ate them. All killer, no filler, ya dig? We didn’t have anything to drink, just still water, but I’ll be hitting that wine list when we come back.(And we will!) All this plus 5% added service came to around £54. We felt very happy with the friendly service, loved the concept and rated the food to be excellent.

Love this place. Took a while Ro convince friends to join me as a fish only restaurant can be off putting. Food is fresh, tasty, affordable. Plates and a good size and service is super fast… highly recommend.

Something is fishy about this restaurant and its all very good. All the fish was fresh and delicious. I am a hero with my 5 guests. Ordering by Ipad is a little gimmicky — but help staff are always near. Go!

A great concept restaurant with small plates designed for sharing ordered when you want them — the food, ordered from your personal iPad, arrives very quickly. Predominantly fish and seafood, the food is stunning. And not too pricey

Friendly staff that just arrived in this grand open restaurant that looks like a fish wharf(or would like to emulate). One of the funnies is the use of iPads to order on the go seafoods & shellfish. I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a dozen oysters with a glass of Sauvignon for less than £20. Sit at the oyster bar, you get to talk with the staff

Amazing new restaurant in London! I fell in love with it from the first visit. Incredibly fresh mouthwatering fish. We took couples of dishes to share and taste as much as we could. Raw prawns and tuna tartar are the best! Bread cannot be neglected, when we asked for it we got a basket of warm freshly baked focaccia that none of us could resist from. Lively place with worm cozy lighting and friendly atmosphere. Prices are more than reasonable, we were shocked when we saw the bill and for all the food we had we had to pay only £24 per person! I thought prices like these were non existent Will definitely return there soon!:)

A great new seafood restaurant that just opened up in Soho. The people behind Goodman’s(Steak House) launched this restaurant with Fishmonger Rex Goldsmith(owner of Chelsea Fishmonger). I read about its opening online and finally got to try it yesterday! Oh my, what a treat! The restaurant is big, seating about 115 people. It is made intentionally to look like one of those open air restaurants you see on the coast of Italy or Spain. The restaurant believes in serving simply prepared fresh seafood, so this way the freshness of the ingredients shines through. The menu indeed is quite simple, you can choose from starter, raw fish, grill and sides, and of course, the fresh caught of the day. The price is very reasonable, so I was a bit confused as to how many dishes to order. My friend and I decided to start with a few dishes and then gauge whether we need more. We went for a salmon carpaccio, sea bass ceviche, a fried mixed seafood and a side of vegetable. When the food came, we were quite surprised at the generous serving of fried mixed seafood. It is a very typical dish in the coastal area and is usually quite cheap because it is made from leftover seafood bits. However, the dish here is filled with nice and juicy chucks of salmon, tuna, sea bass, shrimps, calamari etc. It was simply delicious. Actually, everything was good. And we got all filled up just by those 4 dishes. I also have to mention their ordering system. Every table is equipped with an iPad. You can order whatever you want, whenever through an app. It worked really well, no more of me waving my hands to get some refill of water. Just order through the app and food and drinks start to appear on your table. When you are ready to pay, the app also helps you split the bill and then smartly asks you to rate the experience and collects information about the nature of your meal. I love it. It makes for a very seamless and frictionless experience. Because of the ordering system, you only pay 5% of tips instead of 12.5%. Now that is what I called passing down the benefits to the consumer. Since the restaurant is big and it is just opened, people can walk in and enjoy a meal quite easily. However, I can see it turn a hot spot and packed with people very soon. Before that happens, I need to go hit it a few more times.
