Beurk !

The second branch of Shake Shack is located in Westfield and is quite large, with lots of counters which seat at least 6 – 8 people. Again you order at the right hand side of the store and collect at the left hand side. You get those popular buzzers which you take with you when you pay and when it buzzes you go and collect your food. All in all this branch is not as polished as the one in Covent Garden and the cooking is also not as good which shows in the taste of the food. You really can taste the difference. The servers sometimes forget to make your drinks when you collect so do be careful and double check when you take away your food. It did look a bit empty which is testament to the fact that there are way too many choices in Westfield and unfortunately this branch may not be up to scratch with the quality of the first. Best of luck for the 3rd branch though, opening at Tottenham Court Road in the near future.

Pricy for fast food. And yes it is fast food, anyone who calls it differently is lying! But, it’s tasty nice fast food! The mushroom Berger we had was awesome! The cheese fries were awesome! The milk shake was awesome! But yes, it is overpriced. Why 4 stars? Well I’d be happy to go back again at least :)

Came here after a friend raved about Shake Shack NY, but it wasn’t a hit with me. Tried a mid morning in Stratford and the place was empty. Ordered a burguer and the cheesy fries, but that thing on top of the fries? Tastes of flour, not cheese. The fries themselves aren’t great either. The burger was on the small side(well, at least I didn’t have to dislocate a jaw in order to eat my food, as it happens at some other«posh burguers» joints) and even though it was better than the fries(not difficult…) I’ve had better elsewhere for less money. Expensive for what it is, but the service is allright, I guess.

So you may remember I was not a fan of the Shake Shack in Covent Garden. The queues were horrible and after the long wait you are presented with essentially a fast food burger but charged a lot more for it. Maybe the queues and crowds of Covent Garden skewed my judgement, however, so on a recent trip to Westfield I thought I’d come here. To be honest, you can’t avoid really avoid chain restaurants here. The burger was fine to taste, nothing amazing, but they really go to town on making it look like it’s been run over by a truck. There is absolutely no effort put into making this burger look like something you want to eat. The bap wasn’t even entirely split so it resembled pitta bread and the burger was hanging out with cheese just thrown over the top. I do like their fries and my peanut butter milkshake was very good but why do they need to try so hard to make the burger look so awful? To be honest, you’re a bit stuck for options in Westfield if you’re not into fast food and I’ll do anything to avoid GBK and with single burgers costing between £5 and £10 it’s cheaper than a lot of the burger joints that have been popping up around London. The venue is spacious and there were no queues on a weekday lunchtime. If you’re struggling to find its location it’s on the street near M&S

Burgers are slightly greasy and over cooked. Basic hot dogs are good and the Cumberland sausage is underwhelming. The milkshakes are great(peanut butter; vanilla). Come for a refreshing drink and don’t expect much about the food. Good venue for under 12’s as well.

Proper old school burgers and decent milkshakes. Not cheap to say the least but you get what you pay for. One of the better Burger chains in London

Oh Shake Shack you have stolen my heart. On Tuesday the chap and I headed over to the new Shake Shack in Stratford for the opening party. The burgers, oh those burgers, were by far the best I have had in London. Yes BIG statement there! The SmokeStack isn’t just a cheese and bacon burger, it comes with cherry peppers that give it a nice little kick, and there’s no salad in it, so for me that’s a total winner! The ShackMiester Sausage comes with cheese sauce and Ale marinated shallots; could this be any better?! The chips are crinkly chips and they take me back to my childhood, so again, you guessed it; total winner! If I don’t visit Shake Shack at least once a month for the rest of the year then this year will be a failure! The entertainment at the event was great; I’m a huge fan of photobooths so I couldn’t wait to get the chap into one for the first time! We watched The Coronas play and they were bloody awesome, I’ve even listened on Spotify since! There were also DJs on the night but we left slightly early as I was so full up I couldn’t move! Oh and a little fact about Shake Shack, they even sell snacks for your four legged friends should you be passing on a walk! I’m thinking my terrible twosome need to try the red velvet dog biscuits with custard and peanut butter!

The burger craze has gotten really sad in London, hasn’t it? Beloved chains are now just like lemmings, mindlessly driving our love of them over a cliff*. So the Shack Shake popularity was huge in the U.S. and when it got to its first, small location in London, people queued and queued. I managed to try it a couple of times without queuing and I love their cheese fries and custard, but just cannot justify the horrible, tourist environment of Covent Garden. Who really wants to eat there? No-one that isn’t a 14 year old Spanish student. So when I had heard they had opened a new location, I suspected it would be more of the same. Especially as it’s in Westfield, literally the end of the world. Chain restaurant hell. We were headed that way to visit a friend so decided to have dinner there. Decidedly underwhelming. It’s a huge location with plenty of seating but it’s just bland. It tries to be cool with its ‘wood imported from a Brooklyn bowling hall’ tables but everything is identical, it’s two years away from being on every high street in London. Blah. The only thing of interest was the cashier who properly sassed me and hit on my friend. She was rude and it was a refreshing change. The food was fine, but for two people was extortionately expensive. * In ‘N’ Out is next, this is your prophecy warning.
