We sell deliciously unique and different pancakes using authentic Malaysian recipe. Freshly and traditionally cooked using Malaysian special brass pans which make hot, mouth-​watering and crispy pancakes

The Malaysian Traditional Pancake is popularly known as ‘Apam Balik’ which means ‘Turnover Pancake’. It gets its name from the way it is folded over when it is taken out from the special brass pan when it is cooked.

The traditional ‘Apam Balik’ is filled with ground peanuts, sugar and sweet corn. It is a favourite Malaysian street food and makes a delicious snack and delightful desserts.

We have variety of flavours apart from Traditional Peanut flavour such as Black Glutinous Rice with Coconut, Banana and Nutella, Apple and Cinnamon, Lemon and Ginger, Red Bean, Peanut and Nutella, Coconut and special mix of customer’s choice.

Other names for the Malaysian Pancakes are ‘Ban Jian Kuih’, ‘Chin Loong Pau’, ‘Tai Gau Meen’, ‘Martabak Manis’, ‘Terang Bulan’ and ‘Apam Pulau Pinang’.

History

Established in 2010.

The Malaysian Pancake Co Ltd was founded by Mohd Shahreil. It is the first company selling authentic Traditional Malaysian Pancake in London, UK.

Initially trading at 2 locations at Boiler House food hall and Sunday Upmarket, Brick Lane, East London. It was very well received and now the company has few market stall locations in London to cater for the increased demand.

Business Owner

Born in Malaysia. He came to UK in 1997 as a student. Now, work full time on his Malaysian Pancake business in Central London.
